Electricity has many advantages; count we here cannot.

But it creates heat n pollution, which increase should not.

Summer is here n cannot do without A/Cs and fans we, today.

But to use them judiciously, carefully there is a way.

Switching them off immediately is a way simple n great.

Until we return,  to keep them on we shouldn't wait.

Electronic devices produce extra heat, which we try must to reduce.

So help Nature, let us, and many jobs simultaneously fuse.

with the A/C water; grow n water plants; this cool will our Earth

Waste water from RO plants, drink can animals n birds, or use it at the hearth.

With a plate of this water, ice make n under the fan keep.

It will help cooling the room, recycling done can be; just flip

Reusing water, switching off lights, cars, can help to reduce heat

New little innovative ideas introduce, share; n this heat defeat.

JOIN ME in my endeavour important, with a beginning small.

Annoyed he gets, if our batsman gets out in a zero.

He loves to smash fours or sixes ; I love my little Hero.

Though he is great at speed skating, he loves cricket.

My Lil champ, to go for Nationals is all set.

He is also a chess champ, at level district.

To go further, he needs practise intense n strict.

Wish him I, always in life,  all the very best.

Sweet heart, life itself is a very big test.

Pass it you must, with hard work, prayers n clarity.

Pracise Parsipanu, in fields all, specially charity.

Remember my jaan, your Ma loves you most dearly.

I know busy very you are at the skating camp.

Who in Ahura,  our religion n humanity, had a deep faith.
May wonderful, useful, healthy n happy be your fate.

Work hard n also enjoy life you may; always may you wine n dine.

A BATTERED SPIRIT

How casually n indifferently we say, "there was yet another
**** ;

Without feeling the pain, we just make a casual statement on tape.

Unbothered  we are, because our own are safe n in a good shape;

Imagine can you,  if someone your daughter,  tries to undrape !

It tears apart not just a girl's body; but shatters her mind n spirit into bits.

Flogged the culprits should be; a death sentence them truly befits;

For nothing less than that,  these rich,  powerful monsters would hit.

This heinous crime they commit n with their power n money a false story knit.


When this happens, it adds insult to injury n under an excruciating pain she reels

That's  why this a woman's spirit shatters n batters; to die would be better,  she feels.

Unable to bear this humiliation,  she herself into self imprisonment seals.

Her tattered body, mind n spirit with this harsh reality, seldom positively deals.


I implore,  every Mother her son should teach,  to a girl respect.

It is an absolute must to have a correct mindset on this aspect.

And teach we must all,  our daughters about its horrible impact.

How to safeguard themselves, be they of any age, or belong they may to any sect .

Tears shed quietly, or cry for us, or even rue some will too

Your departure intolerable will be for just a few; perhaps one or two.

That's when people close to you, will this truth realise and know.

Easy very it is to say,  "I'm with you", but difficult it is in deeds to show.  

Die can no one, neither can anyone accompany a departed soul;

But changes life suddenly for those few, nothing can them console

Siblings, kids, friends n colleagues definitely show you sympathy

ON THE SEAS

On a royal cruise, upon the Royal seas was crossing an entourage;

The Prince, his friends n cousins were going across the dark rough seas, with great courage,

A task force was on an important royal mission, to deliver a cargo sent by Her royal highness.

The Prince, a little shy, was preparing a speech to be delivered; trying to overcome his shyness.

He tried to memorize, looking at the blue waters, from the deck, as if seeking from them, their energy

The waters as if, were speaking to him, whispering in his ears, "Let's work together in synergy"

To hear this, the Prince suddenly overjoyed was; words began to pour forth spontaneously, like a song

What a pleasant experience this was, as if dolphins n mermaids were were singing along

Out peeped a pretty mermaid,  holding a ring for him; "marry me will you, my charming Prince please"

Watching her pure innocent beauty, her enchanting smile, the precious pearls she wore, he could just freeze !

His friend, his shoulder lightly touched; only to be gently awakened from his sweet reverie,

Oh boy! this is just what I needed most, now absolutely ready I am, for duty; it's gonna be a brilliant delivery!

The lecture, a success great was; there were multiple rounds of applause

A smile small,  fleeted across his face; knew he,  dolphins n mermaid, of his success were the cause.

અદેખાઈ ની આગ જ્યારે લાગે, ભસ્મીભૂત થઇ જાય વન લીલું; બચે નહીં એક બી વૃક્ષ ઘટાદાર

જંગલની આગ અને અદેખાઈ ની આગ બન્ને હોય ભયાનક ; અદેખું માનવ સ્વીકારતું નથી હાર.

અદેખાઈ ની આગ, એક પૂરો સાગર બી ન બુઝવી શકે; આં આગ ઘડી ભરમાં લઈ લે છે એક ભીષણ આકાર

પળ ભરમાં સળગી જાય છે, રાખ થઇ જાય છે, હસતો રમતો સુખી સંસાર.

અદેખાઈ ની આગ છે આંધળી, કરે નષ્ટ એ પોતાને, પોતાનાને અને પારકાને; જોય ન એ, આર કે પાર

અદેખું માનવ, ખોઈ બેસે વિવેક બુદ્ધિ, ; બીજાને આપે છે પીડા અસહય અને અપાર

અને જો અદેખાઈ ની સાથે મળે વહેમ, તો તો ફના થઈ જાય કોઈ નિર્દોષ નો સંસાર

યાદ રાખવું જોઈએ હર માનવે , હર પળ, નોતરે નહીં એ વિનાશ; હોય એ નર કે નાર.

નહીં તો આં આગ નોતરે છે સત્યાનાશ, મચાવે છે જીવનમાં હાહાકાર

LONGING

A longing there is,  to now home, quickly reach ;

For this to You, O Ahura Mazda, I implore, I  beseech

Forgotten, I have the looks of my home, its dimensions, my batting pitch;

Its colourful and fragrant gardens; oh, and also,  was there a beach?

Forgotten I have those beautiful faces of angels, with whom perhaps I did play;

Or in those meadows besides the stream, with friends, where I did lazily lay

Are those gates still huge? Will they, me an entry permit, or keep me at bay?

To those, my dear ones,  who receive me will; I do have so many things to say.

Today on ROZ n MAH FRAVARNDIN, to all revered Ravans, I say a prayer quick;

"Is the flower or fruit ready ? Eagerly waiting, I am; when will You, me pick?"

Half burnt , old, and worn out is the lamp; weak is its overused wick

Now, there is a longing to get home. Perhaps I am homesick.

સદા સાથ નિભાવી શકાતો નથી, એ તો હું પણ જાણું છું, તારે જવુંજ પડયું, એ પણ હું માનું છું;...
પણ હવે હું શું કરું....

દીલ દુભાય છે, આંસુ વહે છે, સિસ્કીયો પણ કદાચ તને સંભળાય છે; જેમને હું રોકી શકતી નથી; ....
કાંઈક તો બોલ, હવે હું શું કરું
....

સ્મિત મારું, શું કદી પાછું આવશે; ખોવાઈ ગયેલાં ગીત, સંગીત શું પાછા આવશે? ....
તું જ કહે; હવે હું શું કરું?

DECIDE RIGHT NOW

DECIDE whether you wish or not, to protect this planet,  our Earth ??

The result will be, anoxia, polydipsia, starvation or sheer mirth.

It's entirely your choice, your decision, your Karma.

But your progeny will suffer grossly if you fail in your Dharma.

We can make our Earth cool, green, filled with flowers, fruits n vegetables

Or a dry desert, without oxygen, water n food on your tables.

However modern and contemporary things may become

Will you carry oxygen cylinders or for it, to hospitals come???

A  Guru, a teacher is a very important figure throughout our existence, our life;

All those are our Gurus, our teachers, who help us to combat, to face our strife

One learns many different things in life; not just from humans but also many creatures;

Today, I sincerely thank everyone,  beginning from Mom n Dad, who were my very first teachers.

I thank my school n college teachers, bosses, my Jer Mum, who encouraged me in everything, cent percent

Bhupendra Sir, revived he, my passion, my favourite music in my life, of course with Vispi's encouragement;

Ramiyar, I owe you a thank you big, for being my friend, philosopher n guide.

With all their help, may Ahura lead me on the path right, where, by all His rules, I abide.

May all my dear departed ones, in Heaven climb higher realms n attain great heights

THE GREAT KIDNAP

That sorrow-struck father, lost his dearest child; shocked beyond words, he was

Money-its profits, a huge limelight, prestige; its great name, was the cause

The kidnappers powerful very were, change n maneuver easily they could, even laws

Sadly, Ill treated the father was, they took away his child boldly, surreptitiously, with stealth

For years together suffered the poor child, slowly but steadily, depleted its image n health

Instead of growing bigger n stronger, weaker it grew, in prestige, health n wealth

After years many, much after the father's demise, brought home uncle, this unhealthy baby

Rejoiced many its homecoming, specially those who still love its father n uncle; though huge was the fee

Time it may, to recover fully take, not just months; even a couple of years, maybe!

Wishing you happppinezzz alwayssss my dearest Air India, specially on your 90th Birthday.

छुपी हुई है मनमें एक आश; काश हम सब अलग अलग हो कर भी, दिल-ओ-दिमाग से होते एक ;

दिलमें चाहत है एक छुपी हुई; भले अलग अलग व्यंजन खाये, पर मिलझुल कर, थोड़ा सा बाट कर खाये;

पहेरवेष अलग हो, भले कपडोके रंग और डिज़ाइन अनेक हो; पर दिलसे हम सब जरूर एक हो ।

बोली भले  हर १२ गांवके बाद बदलती हो, पर एकता लाये, ऐसी एक भाषा भी तो हमे चाहिए ।

हिंद की अपनी भाषा, हिंदी, अभिसे इसे गर्व से सब बोले, ऐसा करें निश्चय सब मिलकर आज ही से ।

हिंदी में एक मिठास है, एक अपनापन है; चलिए, आइये, मातृभाषा, राष्ट्रभाषा का गर्वसे करे प्रयोग;

जहाभी हो सके, जितना भी हो सके आज से चलो राष्ट्रभाषा और मातृभाषा का करें उपयोग ।

सरकारसे एक नम्र निवेदन है, भाषा अगर सरल हो तो आएगी आसानीसे हरएक को समझमे;

तो जितना हो सके, पहोचिये लोगों तक, उनके दिलों तक, लिये सरल भाषा ।

बस यह मधुर भाषा का हर कोई करे प्रयोग, इतनी है छोटीसी आशा; क्या कर सकती हूं मैं यह आशा ?

માઁ-બાપ ઉપાડી ફરતાં, હાથ ઝાલી ચલાવતાં, હવે દીકરો-વહુ , દીકરી- જમાઈ પકડી ચલાવશે, આં છે જીવન ચક્ર

મળ-મૂત્ર પર એક જન્મજાત શિશુ ને અને બુઝરોગ ને ક્યાં કંટ્રોલ હોય છે, આખરે તો, આં જ છે જીવન ચક્ર

જેમ પેદા થઈએ છીએ, તેમ જવા પહેલા, બુઢાપામાં ફરી એક વાર, બધું પરિવર્તન થવાનું છે, આં જ છે જીવન ચક્ર.

होता है जब दिल-ओ- दिमाग खुशी से तर बतर
नाज़ुक खुशबुदार कलियों से भर जाता है दामन, या बिस्तर !
हवाओं में फ़ैल जाती है खुशबू, माने बिखरा है अत्तर ।

दिल ने कहा, "यहीं तो है खुशियों का असर" ।

ON OUR ANNIVERSARY

Nothing in the same state ever lies,
Situations many change as time flies.
A bud, blooms into a beautiful flower, withers n dies.

Years forty one, in a jiffy have passed by.
Together we faced situations, with laughter and cry.
Luckily Mum was mostly around to wipe our tears dry.

Thank Ahura we profusely for granting Shez unto us.
Also for a wonderful family, who always support us.
Then of course, Phil, Freyu, Zoish completed it thus.

Ahura kind, bless us all, to good humans be.
Kind, considerate, wise, loving, filled with glee.
My wish: my kids marry a Humdin early, n have children three.

On Valentine's Day it is only love, love n more love. Yet it is indeed very difficult to define love. Here is an attempt to do so. I was inspired from a Gujarati article that I read sometime ago....

LOVE IS understanding
'' '' accepting as he/she is.
'' '' compassion
'' '' never hurting
'' '' always forgiving
'' '' happily sacrificing
'' '' not being selfish - (mer mit na)
'' '' adoring, worshiping - (ebaadat)
'' '' a madness that one enjoys - (ghelchha)
'' '' unconditional... without any expectation.
(Yet I guess, secretly every lover wishes to be loved back, at least I desire this.)

Lord, Whenever I feel tired and weak;

Sometimes, just a moment or two of insanity request You I, to grant me, O my kind Lord.

Sorry about this request, but I am asking you this dreadful thing, like a patient, on my own accord

When the pain searing n unbearable becomes, to forget things, this moment I need

Blank may become my mind, devoid of all turmoils, thoughts n pain, please concede.

Help me to undergo thru' these painful torturing times, I sincerely request.

How do so many others go through this period, quite normally, will always be my quest !

Lord, grant me daily, some peaceful sleep; like a Mother's loving lap, for moments few, Yours give me.

I think I am going insane, so, O my Lord dear, do what's best for me; that which I can't really see.

DEEP DESIRES

Deeply desire I, a surrounding, clean, very green n serene, with scented n colourful flowers, I mean

Imagine roads n railway lines on both sides,  loaded with fruit n flower trees! That's a deeply desired scene !

In the name of development, moving away we are from nature; only concrete jungles all around are seen

Climatic changes n water shortages result, sea levels are dangerously rising, and few to safaris have ever been.

Oxygen levels reducing are; poisonous gases our children harm; need they, an environment clean.

Rain harvesting, if done n artificial lakes created are for our generation future; to them a lot it will mean.

If cotton n jute grown n used is; n reduction in the use of plastics n wood promoted, eco-changes will be seen.

Lord, please o please fulfil this deep burning desire of mine; since long burning deep down my heart it has been.

PROTECT OUR SELF-RESPECT

The elderly, certainly a decent amount of money need;

to themselves, properly medicate, clothe n feed.

By all means, a right they have, to a comfortable life lead.

They shouldn't be paying income tax again indeed.

The GOI to this important matter should heed n concede.

They should, these old laws urgently demolish and ****.

Already slogged n paid their tax, the elderly have indeed;

Why then should they be burdened; to change, I request plead.

With self-respect, don't they have a right, to a good life lead ?

They ***** her, destroying her physically, mentally; and her spirit n soul severely crushed n injured;

Injured it permanently, tattered and battered it, with their action cruel; these monsters most weird.

As a mother protects her daughters; she should also her sons to respect every woman teach

Men decent, never ill treat a woman, be she young or old, feeble or strong; they will never let her screech.

Parents worried are about your wellness, your whereabouts,  actually about you

Besides them, if inquire other people about your wellbeing, simply lucky are you

तेरी अनार की सुनी कलाइयां

तेरी दी हुई असंख्य चूड़ियों के बिना, कलाइयां पड़ गई है सुनी और लगने लगी है श्याम;

तेरे प्यार बिना, तेरी हस्ती बिना, हैयाती बिना, यही तो होना था इनका अंजाम

पैमाना छलकते हुए लगता है दिलकश; बेजान लगता है जब नही होती है उसमे जाम ।

अब सुनी और बेजान इन कलाईयों का नहीं कोई दाम, नहीं कोई काम ।

इन सुनी कलाईयों को क्या दु मैं नाम, अब तो दर्द भरी आहें और आँसूंओ के साथ गुज़रती है हर शाम

Memories loving, naughty, full of fun, some very cute little trinkets, costing just a few dimes

The food tasty, yummy,  that your mum very lovingly made; its taste you savour lifelong

Those ****** limericks n rhymes you created, still stay with you; so also, your mum's favourite song.

That laughter crazy, those expressions insane, all the silly jokes hang on, until that last gong.

As we to our legends say goodbye; prepare ourselves we must for new ones; many more

Constantly performing better,  endeavouring consistently, we must increase our score;

We need new legends, like Nani,  Soli,  Keki,  Fali, who regally inspire awe and roar.

Doctors great like  Dasturs, Udwadias, Motashaws, Soonawalas n more; who bring back patients from death's door

Best we were n best we shall be; doctors, lawyers, scientists, engineers, armed forces n more;

O brilliant lads n ladies young, you have to excel, you need to quickly come to the fore

Wishing our young population increases and excel they, in their careers, producing legends more.

ચાલો થોડુંક વિચારીએ આજે

માતાની સાથે જોડાયેલી, કપાઈ જાય છે જેમ જન્મતાજ શિશુની  નાભિ,

થાય છે એવીજ હાલત, જ્યારે થઈ જાય છે ભાઈ વિદાય અને રહી જાય છે એકલી, ભાઈ વિનાની ભાભી.

સ્નેહી સંબંધીઓ, ગભરાય છે યા કતરાય છે; જુવે છે જમણી બાજુ જો ભૂલેથી દેખાઇ જાય ભાભી, ડાભે

માનવ કેટલો સ્વાર્થી થઈ શકે છે, કેટલો જલ્દી બદલાઈ જાય છે; શું તું આં દૃશ્યો જુવે છે, બેસી આભે?

રિષતાઓ ભુલાવી બેસે છે લોકો કેટલી સહજતાથી, સરળતાથી; કાઈ રહ્યું નથી, બોલું શું હું હવે આગળ

જઝબાત છે દબાવી રાખેલા, પણ આંસુ બની, ઉમટી પડે છે કયારેક ક્યારેક; ભલે દેખાય બહારથી કોરું, આં કાગળ.

માનવને સહારાની જ્યારે સૌથી વધારે જરૂર હોય છે, ત્યારે ખાલી તમારો હાથ મુકજો એને ખભે

તમારી સલાહની એને જરૂરત નથી જરાયે; સલાહ તો હોય છે મફત, માનવોના લબે લબે.

બે બોલ એવા બોલીએ, કે શાંતિ મળે એ દુઃખી સ્વજનોને, પીડા એમની ઘટે થોડી

આં બાબતે, ચાલો થોડુંક વિચારીએ આજે; તમને બધાંને, વિનંતી કરું છું હું, કર જોડી

બોલી

પ્રેમ ભર્યા બે શબ્દો સાંભળવા દિલ તરસે છે.
જ્યારે જ્યારે, અમી ને બદલે, વાગ બાણ વરસે છે.
શબ્દો, બાણ કરતાં પણ છે વધુ ઘાતક, ભયાનક.
માનવ તૂટી જાય છે, ક ટુ-વચન સાંભળી, અચાનક.
અપશબ્દો થી દિલ નો, મન નો દીવો બુઝઈ જાય.
જ્યારે, મીઠા બે બોલ સાંભળી, ઘવાયલું હૈયું રૂઝાય.
ફરી પ્રકાશિત થઇ ઉઠે હૃદય, દિલ નો દીવો ઝળહળી ઊઠે.
દયા-માયા ભર્યા આપણા બોલો, પ્રેમ પૂર્વક, ચાદર ગૂંથે.
છે બધું આપણા હાથ માં; કદી ન બોલીએ, કટું વચન
અમી વરસાવી, કરીએ દુઃખી દિલોમાં પ્રેમ નું સિંચન.

ON THE LAST DAY OF THE YEAR

On this last day of the year,
Shed off let us our grudges n fear;
Shed off let us our ego, anger, my dear.

An oath let's take on Pateti today,
To keep all evil and the devil at bay;
Not just today, but through life, every day.

May there be plenty of peace, may happiness n prosperity never cease.
May we multiply ten-fold like chicken n geese.

LOVE'S BRIGHT LIGHT

A man tall, black n handsome, fell in love with a girl white

He followed her all around and wouldn't let her out of his sight

The girl too attracted was towards him, specially his eyes bright

Soon in passionate love they were; n love culminated at its height

A beautiful baby born was, but like the father black with eyes bright

Her mother love her could not; she couldn't even stand her sight

Though her dad loved her, he couldn't stand those daily fights

Soon he left home; a thread separated was from a flying kite

She lay hungry, *****, wailing, crying for milk; pitiable was her plight

Lorn n neglected she grew up, all alone in an orphanage, under supervision tight

Working n studying hard shone out she; powerful like the Sun, a shining, shimmering star bright

Built a home beautiful for herself she did, besides a lake, on a hillock; grand was that site

Name n fame she had now; hence to inaugurate a home for the aged, came an invite

When with applause greeted she was, a frail old figure came to sight

Her heart went out to the elderly lady; so she gave her a hug tight

Spontaneously she knew this was someone her own; n she was right

For the elderly lady was her mother own, who had left her to her plight

Recognised her she through feelings, as if through an insight

The kind girl, in her arms held the figure frail, taking her home that night

"Love me you didn't Mom, but all my life I yearned for my parents, praying with all my might"

Tears streamed down from her mother's pale cheeks, as she held her tight

Relieved they both felt; love is truly beautiful, love is a shining bright light.
