Siren love

quench my

thirst,

roll over

bring life

to my

fields

of green,

give me

pleasure

as I

lay upon

you.

etch your

markings

splash

and dance

in your

spirit.

fall

after

I have

drank

always

in this

magical spirit

of you..

Hold your
breath in

trust in me.

let my
words
pour over
you.

and quench
your thirst.

with innocence
and grace.

let my
desires
melt
upon
your lips.

and your
passions
kindle
fire in
my every
bone.

let our
tongues
lie in
silence
exhausted.

and our
dreams
no longer

abandoned
in the
night.

let us
pass
through
these
moments ,

of growing
old.

naked
unafraid.

raging to
the night.

for one
more
moment

It is the wanting,
the hunger of
wet and fire sparked
flesh that
drives you
like a runaway
star across
the night.

leaving all
to look at
the sky
to wish upon
your angel eyes,

and the siren
call of hearts
that beckons
you to wonder,

of this moment
if it is
the greatest
that you
have ever lived.

of each others
juice and
thick tongues

and forth from
one mouth

tonight you are

questions or

that bind us.

deep in places
of love's  true
consequence.

and inside your eyes.

I see all that
is mine for
the taking.

from a fairy tale
unanswered a long
time ago.

when adolescent
hearts were broken,
and dreams
were left half open,

and all I could ever
hope for was
this one day

I might
find you here.

between
heart beats
were the
ties that
bind us.

the half
wink
in your
eyes,

the look
that
moves
me.

like jelly

tasted
moist
from
your
lips

for the
very
first
time.

this night
in you,

when the
rains come
in the
wink
of an eye,

we crusade
into
the black

catching each
droplet
of night
upon our
tongues.

then savoring
the taste
together
deeply
and sweetly
between our
lips..

seeking our
salvation
humble
and as a
servant
to each other's
souls..

through
Topanga
canyon,

we walk

bare toes
in flight.

clouds
swollen
bellies
itching
to give
birth..

and there
behind
your eyes

naked
unafraid,

you
see
me...

and I

see you.

forever.

I seek
your smile,

like a six
year old

child
engulfed
in the
curiosity
of you.

I peek
through
the window
of your
thoughts
that you have
left
open
to me.

everything new.

somethings
unexplained.

in the still
moments

before
dawn,
I sit here
at my
key board
and talk to
it about

you.

the joys
you feel.

the heart ache
you hide.

and then
you give
me pieces
of you.

and I
hold them
dear.

like sunlight
to flowers.

you awaken
me again.

we fall.

out of

hearts
beating
loud,

last breaths

just
pretty
words
to say.

mellow

evening
lights,

that my
thoughts
of you
are always
sprinkled
with salt

clouds

to dream
upon.

and that
your
foot prints,

in the
thoughts
in my
head
always ,

fit so
easily
into
mine.

when
we ask
nothing..

want
nothing

like soil

water
to rivers.

we move

to one
another.

taste of your

me as your

cascade

upon me

put to rest.

Basking in
love's

sheltered
bliss,

you and I
open vessels,

of time"s
seeping
sand

dropping
south.

sunset colors

on the

smeared by

a careless

at play.

we begin.

to count

the breaths

us,

life.

our devotion

our loss
of it,

the bleeding

of our

it.

by those

applaud
your

for love.

and deep
kisses.

everything.

for waking

to celebrate

You come
to me
dressed in
solitude
from
a place
that can't
be seen,

or touched
or understood
in the
brief
time we
live and
laugh and
cry aloud.

stale coffee
stranded in
your morning
coffee cup.,

curtains leaking
morning light
across your
bed..

in your head
you awkwardly
dance through

hundreds of old
pointless conversations.

you and him
you and he.
before the
storm
after the
deluge,

bad songs
sung out
of tune.

so many

poor choices

of men.

but still your
beauty of
heart promises
another spring,

and to there
I will wait
and then
retire and
dream of

For 35 years

he would

man his little

starters golf shop

and each time

my sons and I

would dread

seeing him

there.

but we golfed

and he complained

about life

his wife

his dog

his general lot

in life.

and he

took no responsibility

with any

of it,

He woke up

that morning

and said

to his wife

that Tom Petty

had died,

and how

sad he was

but the

salvation of

the matter was

that that is

exactly how

he wanted to

die someday.

quick.

it was odd for

him to wake up

at 7:30 that morning,

his wife said

he would always

wake at 8:30.

but she figured it

was nice to

have him up

an hour earlier

so they could talk

and piddle around

the house.

the day

was last

Thursday, Oct. 4th

the day Tom Petty

died.

and two hours

later at 10:30

in the morning

that grumpy

old man Lester

died  too.

and it

was quick

like a rattlesnake

just jumped

up and

bite him

in the heart.

He died

grumpy,

but in some way

all of us

are somehow

the lesser

for it.

but I also

know inside

that God

won't handle

him much

better ..

my bet is

God sends

that grumpy

old man back,
