she plucked the rose from the garden
crushed it under foot
ground its petals to the earth
without an afterthought

and, as pearls scattered hence,
they lay there in the dirt,
till gradually, in nature's course,
succumbed they to the hurt

for she was broken from her childhood,
something rotted inside,
and when she saw the whitest rose,
its beauty could not abide,

a rose as crystal alabaster,
as soft as nature's cheek,
as a prairie golden aster
of divine mystique

from that time she longed to cut it,
longed to cast it far aside,
so it too would rotten be,
'til, eventually, it died.

caress, to and fro,
'neath pier, beach o'erflow,
water to dust, heaven to earth,
sea tickles sand in laughter 'n mirth

rippling sunshine breaking on shore,
amid tidal whispers, amid tidal roar,
where the twain meet, each says, "i am yours",
two avid lovers behind closed doors

i saw you, sweet angel,
black locks round your face,
your memory was painful,
but now there's all grace

sweet one, first son,
your light filled the room,
as the midday sun,
as flowers that bloom,
your eyes were pools
as emerald jewels,
your skin as zephyr
of wafts of sweet myrrh

your love filled my *****
i thought it would crack
when they told me your blossom
had been taken back
when they told me when
we were absent from you
they'd reached out from heaven
from celestial blue
they'd plucked you sweet rose
innocent dove
to rest and repose
in Gardens above
to know only sweetness
to know only Love
and though your completeness
we can never have,
your soul once again
in Spirit resides,
that calms my yen
as ocean tides.

and though i know not
the why or the wherefore
of why we begot
and why you are no more
inside my heart
as sea 'gainst the seashore
is never apart
from that son i adore.

row, row, row the boat
gently down the stream,
let your subconscious mind
lead you in a dream,

down a stream of consciousness,
down a moonlight beam,
loose yourself in your thoughts,
life is not as it seems.

when you catch your purpose,
when you catch your theme,
row, row, row your boat
swiftly up the stream,

use the stream of consciousness
to swing on moonlight beam,
use your strength of purpose
to fight for your dream.

row, row, row your boat
gently up the stream,
verily, verily, verily, verily,
life is not a dream,

we're strapped in our places
as roller-coaster races,
the ride has begun,
with driver none,
we're hurtling along,
our trust in man strong,
we believe the merry song,
choo-choo, ding-****,
but our faith though strong,
is blind and wrong
we're diving headlong
in last furlong
so sing swan-song
farewell! so long!

Hickory dickory dock,
the mice run up the clock,
the clock struck one -
other mice all run -
he's ok, but he's suffering from shock

tears of blood and water
sizzle on life's altar,
spirits ascend in smoke
as human angels choke
holding hands in parity
they gasp for sense 'n clarity
amidst the mist and fog
as virtue drowns in bog
as innocence looks aghast
as leering shadows sail past
