I’m lost in your love,

Last night, I heard that my voice
was too bland and robotic, too indistinct,
meaningless, monotone waves,
shattered stages, broken, bladed,
soft sounds, and flowery flights,
unrecognizable dimensions, floating
equations and mazes, squared sentences
stained and flamed, crammed and jammed,
saw slammed and offbeat, flayed and decayed,
drunken, sunken, tumbling in twirling
whirlwinds.

I didn’t know if I would ever
digress from this stress
that you put me in
when you told me that
you were done with me,
when you didn’t want
to make love anymore,
when you abruptly closed
the door that led to the greatest
gateways of your love.

I was in a mess,
feeling wrecked,
thinking this was all a test,
that maybe you were playing with me,
all in my head,
trying to see how long
I might last,
but I found out that
you were done with me,
that it was over
and there was nothing
that I could do change your mind.

I cherish your youthfulness,
your poetic existence,
the way your tongue
sends me into dreamy thrills,
desiring to feel your flesh
and escape into unparalleled pleasures.

He is my space jam, a slamming maze of funky beats,
heavy highs, smoking rhymes, smooth vibes.

His groovy feet a place of amazing palaces, rotating,
vibrating, cracking chests and chemistry.

Bones of breaking basslines, grinding muscles, veins lost
in crazy downbeats.

Hips spinning in sight, breathing in the hypnotizing flow.
The dose of diction rising into the air, swirling and splashing,
reversing and fast-forwarding

Engine eyes crunk, creeping into captivating scenes.
shoulders slinging, singing, dropping dances moves
in the midnight magic.

I never imagined that falling in love
could shatter your heart, brick rusted
dreams scraped and dragging, slashed
metaphors scattered and scanning
the skyline in search of serenity, the heavy
momentum shifting in unbroken worlds,
the spinning weight of various kingdoms
converging towards one another, the filthy
snippets stomping inside my brain repeatedly,
nasty rhythms gray and grinning, a soiled
heartbreak bruised and bladed, as I stared at
the blackened glass ceiling inside my living
room, the way its shadowed existence hovered
in ****** directions, raged, maddened,
a stabbed hall of bleeding diction upturned in
chaos.  The grief was drifting me away from
outer Saturn, more like snarling Mars, hissing
and cussing, shuffling and twisting, an empty
bitchless nation slamming shut in loud beats,
as my dull dry eyes swelled in inkwells,
slippery dungeons, rusted brown shells,
split cheeks suffering syntax, whitewashed
shoulders beneath a sludge of helpless seas,
compounded muscles, crumbled earlobes,
every smashed bone fast falling
in splintering tunnels.

Mountains stand in a world of
whirling thoughts, stripped of
their freedom, embracing the
strong wind breezing in their sight.

Distant cries echo across the landscape,
perished dreams diminish in a sea of
silence.  I stand by the river and watch
the landscape shift without hesitation,
the solid green trees slowly creep
away beneath thought, blanched
clouds sink inside, cramped rhymes,
flattened horizons, a ******* sorrow
of confusion fill the air, as I inhale the
pain surrounding me.

Even the swans swimming nearby fall
in mourning, the weight of the world
pressed against their stained wings,
scarred surfaces growing darker
and damaging, while I walk closer
to the water and observe their fallen
kingdom.  I can see the disappearing
tranquility leaving their majestic
dimension like the fading stars
swallowed in misery.  

Everything is declining.  And as I
try to understand the meaning of life,
how all things must eventually come
to a closing, how the seamless waves
will ultimately cease, my heart is heavy
and stuck in silence.

Dear Travis,

I hope you never go back to your past and relive every moment that almost broke you apart.  I hope you stay the course and continue working towards your goals in life.  You have been through so much and look at how you still rise, how you gain strength by your inspiring quotes every day.  You have leveled up and now have a different outlook on the world.  You have chosen to welcome self-love, self-care, and enlightenment into your soul.  

You aren’t concerned about who walks in and out of your life anymore. You can carry your own self and smile wherever life takes you.  Since you have changed and stepped into the light, you have lost friends that you thought would always be there.  But you were too good for them, and they couldn’t see a good thing standing in front of them.  Let them go. I wished to be a part

breathe in his intoxicating

I wanted to be the brilliant
words that came to his mind,

whirling within his artistic

in his brain, a bright flame

Before the days my daughter had aged into an adult,
I remember the nights when I used to sit in the living
room couch pulling her long silky hair back towards me
and slowly combing it like a porcelain doll, untangling the
few strands and greasing it down to a sleek finishing touch.
I’d soon follow using my slender fingers to make knots one
strand after the other, as my daughter would scream out in
agony, That hurts! Let take a break!  I’d stare at her for a few
seconds the way my mom used to gaze at me when she was
braiding my hair, then I’d say, Hush up child, stop being so
tender headed, and I’d ease right back into plaiting her hair,
letting my mind seep into the technique and the rhythm of
the constant rotation, how each element seemed to create
a harmonizing rhyme sinking inside my soul, how the twisting
and turning reminded me of the memories I used to share with
my mother, the way she’d brush my ***** hair and gel it down
until it was straight, the way she’d open up with a big smile, I love you my precious baby, her sparkling teeth stamped on the center of my chest.  I’d grin and reply, I love you too mom, like it would be this way forever.   Now, as I continue tying the knots together, I see so much beauty and uniqueness in me within my darling daughter, how the simple touch of braiding hair can birth a beautiful blossom.
