I watched the professor from the back
of the room lecture about the depth
of poetry, how its deep diction intensified
within your veins, its raw rhythms
an igniting burst of energy filling the air,
a genius creation of massive equations,
shifting chemistry, every perimeter a distinct
kingdom of greatness and glittering mountains.

Her dark brown eyes studied the various
expressions on her student's faces,
most deeply engaged and jotting
down notes, sifting inside the windows
of delight, the spinning light of dreams
running in exhilarating escapes.

Her smooth cheeks shifted in different
degrees, iridescent lips moving in
an upbeat motion, her hands making
slight gestures every second, as I sat
in my seat taking in all the marvelous
teachings.

And as I stared at her poised presence,
her body a wave of compassion and thought,
knowledge and power, truth and reason,
a waterfall of high beating rhymes singing
in the sky, there was meaning in her
vivid words.

The slick and well-crafted inventions.
the orchestrated alliteration and metaphors
rising beyond brilliance.  The perfect seas
of similes swimming in satisfaction.  The
splendor and glorious personification.
Everything was exquisite and profound.

And as I continued listening to her
speak, there was a sudden spark
that touched my heart, a gleaming
constellation of galaxies swirling
towards infinity.  I could feel the
spectacular poet inside of me coming
to the surface, a changed man born
again into a world of new beginnings.

We sit at the park late at night
feeling on each other’s flesh,
touching the love muscles that
spark rising seas inside our veins,
inhaling the beautiful memories
of our lives together, the moments
when we first met by the riverbank,
the waves dancing in the distance
upon our hearts.

There was a bright rhythm of dreams
inside your soul that made me fall
deep in love with you, your azure
eyes meeting mine, a treasure of
delight, an excitement running
wild, as the sun shined down
on the landscape.

Your sleek starlight surface
was a scintillating square of static
shocks striking my chests, a glittering
sensation spreading paradise across
my world.  I knew in that moment
you were the flashing light glowing
bright in my presence, the one that
could take me away from all of it,
the endless days and nights struggling
in love and bitter breakups, the world
pressed against my back, trying to
destroy the flame inside of me.

Now here we are curled up beside
each other, gently kissing tender
spots, welcoming the magic in the
air as it seeps inside our mansion.

Last year my family and I traveled
to New York, the bursting bright
dreams in our light, the big apple
rooted inside our souls, the van
packed with immense suitcases
and heavy exhilaration.

We were on the long road to a
new beginning of our life.  The
world we used to live in was filled
with endless moments of dragging days,
sweat stained fields riding our backs,
as we worked long breathless hours in
the scorching heat, feeling our flesh
burn to a smoldering defeat.

And as we topped and suckered the
tobacco through the day, blistered
hands buried in blazing depths,
our swollen feet cramping and
struggling, waiting patiently for
a sweet escape.

We thought it would always be
this way, every morning waking
up to the sounds of rattling tractors
and smoky engines, long draining
walks and dripping sweat rolling
down our cheeks, while we took
in the consistent cries of our lives,
letting the journey seep inside of us,
letting this world be our forever home.

Now as we stand on the grounds of
New York, the many fascinating people
passing by us in extreme excitement,
exquisite extravagances and designs,
towering buildings built of massive
strength and diligence, the Brooklyn
bridge standing majestically in the
distance overlooking the shimmering
scene, the Statue of Liberty rising
high in the sky like the tremendous
trees, like a distinguished nation.
And as we walk down the city
streets of Times Square and
breathe in the wonderful attractions,
golden glory and brightness, a
show-stopping entertainment racing
through our bodies, we welcome
our new home of various adventures,
a phenomenal place full of excellence
and taste.

Mountains stand in a world of
whirling thoughts, stripped of
their freedom, embracing the
strong wind breezing in their sight.

Distant cries echo across the landscape,
perished dreams diminish in a sea of
silence.  I stand by the river and watch
the landscape shift without hesitation,
the solid green trees slowly creep
away beneath thought, blanched
clouds sink inside, cramped rhymes,
flattened horizons, a ******* sorrow
of confusion fill the air, as I inhale the
pain surrounding me.

Even the swans swimming nearby fall
in mourning, the weight of the world
pressed against their stained wings,
scarred surfaces growing darker
and damaging, while I walk closer
to the water and observe their fallen
kingdom.  I can see the disappearing
tranquility leaving their majestic
dimension like the fading stars
swallowed in misery.

Everything is declining.  And as I
try to understand the meaning of life,
how all things must eventually come
to a closing, how the seamless waves
will ultimately cease, my heart is heavy
and stuck in silence.

The morning light rises over our bodies
in the warm sparkling air, the glistening
sun shining its bright rays upon our flesh,
as I breathe in your alluring escape.  I can
feel your gentle hands seeping in the strands
of my hair, feeling each rising melody take
off towards extravagant flights.

I want to kiss you on your golden-brown cheeks,
let my crowned world of divine flames spark
your skin, let the music multiply and multiply
into a multitude of marvelous sounds, our eyes
meeting over tantalizing chemistry, distant horses
galloping across the green grassland, as we lay
next to each other thinking of the glorious
moments ahead of us.

His voice takes me into outer worlds
of love languages speaking inside
my mansion, strong soothing diction
drifting over me on a summer night.
his shiny teeth reels me inside his
mind-blowing ride, an upbeat rhyme
intensifying into an intoxicating high.

His arms take control over my spine,
so crystal-clear and captivating, the
sensual power of sheer perfection
making me weak all over.

I can feel the heat waves inside of me
gliding and grinding into emerald
gleams, the scintillating sky bursting
bright in my light, while I smile and
gaze at the celestial stars in your
presence.

The love between was escaping into
clogged gutters, each drilling sound
a shattered sound crumbling in fallen
syllables, a dangerous wave of
accelerations gone astray.

The stark sun that used to shine
inside our bedroom window was
slowly backing away into closed
infinities, gridlocked gates, a chamber
of backdrop kingdoms.

The scattered dishes overcrowding
the sink were filled with pain, lingering
in abandoned dreams, as I stared at
their smeared appearance, damaging
reflections driven stone cold grey.

Burnt picture frames hung in a cell of
confined chains, drenched dungeons,
crouched corners, an empty existence
wrinkled and strained.  My heart was
frozen underground and shoveled,
stripped and scraped, a dragging
depiction like an old man, like
a slow ticking clock, like weather-beaten
tires.

I could see the blackened trees beating
against the windowsill, a smashed
soul growing numb in dull hours,
hopeless innocence, ghostly planes
of hazy boulevards, rusted bitten
leaves turning pale, as I stepped
towards the kitchen sink, my hands
pressed against the surface of the glass,
embracing the rotating rhythms of
bone breaking beats.
