When I stood by the emerald sea,
the sun beaming down upon
my flesh, transitioning depths,
deepened breaths, I could feel
the heavenly beats swimming
inside my soul, musical shimmer
igniting a paradise of iridescent
poetry.

I was the moon inside
your cosmic existence,
the divine design beyond
your mind, an ignition of
broader dimensions,
a matrix of seamless equations,
a multicolored invention
rising towards infinity.

Most weekends I’d go hang out
with my brother Donte and play
video games on the PlayStation 2,
our hands clutching the controllers
uncontrollably.

And as we sat in front of the big
screen TV playing Grand Theft Auto:
San Andreas, there was a gleaming
glow in our serene faces.

We could feel the exhilarating
excitement soaring through
our veins, bursting hearts alive
in the moment, breathing in every
winning second.

When we grew tired of playing
the game, we’d take a walk down
the city streets and giggle about
the most random subjects.

And when night finally came,
we’d take several snapshots
together, my brother holding
the camera in his hands,
pressing the shutter button
of a lasting memory that
would always stay stamped
on our chests.

I remember the day when you
stepped into my life and
changed the bitter memories
into something new.

Back then, all I knew was
anger and pain, relentless
painstaking music sinking
shattered beings.

And I could feel the thickened
beats thumping inside my soul,
smoky flames reminding me
that I would never escape the pain.

But when I thought my life was
over, you came in and made me
a brand-new person.  You will
forever hold a special place in
my heart.  You are my hero.

This body that I reside in
is nothing more but a
reciprocal of your existence
a supreme entity fighting
to make change
Travis Green Nov 2018
I stared at your stained shadow,
the sky falling in sunken dreams,
dead roses creeping in a sea of
screams, endless tears lingering
in the air.
Travis Green Nov 2018
You stole my heart and
and cut its creation
in small meaningless pieces.
And as I laid on the scarlet
flamed floor, I could feel
your ragged knifed existence
suffocating my kingdom.
