His Anger extreme,

His games humiliating,

His outbursts tore

Her humanity to shreds.

He broke her

Throughout those years.

For a duration

She would submit,

To keep away for

His poisonous hiss.

The way he

Would guilt

Purposely to

Control,

Put his

Life and

Health at risk.

Until he dragged her

Deep into his abyss,

Until his anger

She couldn't dismiss.

Until he strangled

To a near miss,

Until her breath

Nearly missed.

So she ran and

After this a new

Life began.

The memories remain,

A strength from them

Is gained.

In her survival,

Sadly these memories stain and

Difficult to erase.

Since they met,

She's never felt

So alone,

Struggling to

Make in others

A home.

In pain

When around

Others and

Not alone,

She is

Now a

Wilting

Rose.

Instant dislike strikes, usually for something we've hidden inside Or our unrecognised dark sides.

Reflecting back from an other,
Something uncomfortable,
We're not ready to discover.
