Lord, take my life from the earth,
To heaven, Lord, lead me there:
The weight of life’s crosses, Lord,
For me is too much to bear.

Help me carry life's crosses,
When I find life hard to live:
Needed wisdom, I need Lord,
It sufficient to me give.

I ask you Lord to help me,
Especially when there's strife:
Help me Lord to not give up,
Help me when hard I find life.

The virtues, Lord that I need,
To me give them, Lord I plead.

Sufferings
Lord, help me use my sufferings
To free those in purgatory:              
In whatever way they're useful,
To good use, Lord, help them to be.

Sometimes I bring them on myself,
Yet many of them I do not:
Lord, you can bring good out of them,
Many times I've sure got a lot.

Lord, times when  I encounter them,
Help me bear crosses that they bring:
Don't give me more than I can bear,
To you they are my offering.

When sufferings bring me close to you,
I can see that you love me true.
