i wish the red would just
go away
i am fed up now
a few days
a lost cow ok...

an unmade bed
some dull party
a mountain low
a sixth toe
taboo

we poets are made
to starve
half is half
and none is
none
truth is economical..

i)

my life has been a complete waste of
time
i have achieved nothing
i am a total failure..

ii)

my father did nt know if
i was an idiot or a
genius..
i was too idle to fall

off the couch..
he said i would get into
trouble..
(beware the ides of march..)

iii)

but despite all
i quite enjoyed it
thus far are
we not the culmination of
our days
how ever..

pteryla!
an area with
feather
hope is a thing
with feathers
(emily dickinson)
without feathers
(autobiog. by woody allen)
i am spitting feathers-
(i would like a cup of tea)
you could have knocked me
down with a feather-
surprise!
my love strokes me with
a feather-
sensuality
white feather-
coward
my old favourite
jay
(you and me)
feather to write
feather to fly
feather to be..

why stress the
obvious
and leave other
stuff
to the birds
is it enough..

sing, like billy-o-
(god, knows we
did nt ask
to
be..)
love

sits square upon
their tongues
and in a stretch
of a wing
beauty and
understanding..

ii)

they say, michael,
(for we are familiar)
(not in the demon-witch-helper
genre but maybe,no,
sometimes they lack
decorum though-)..

iii)

quite or quiet,
for their silence
saved (me)
on occassion
for,what do we
fear most in the
jungle,children..

why everything is underlined
in blood red
(ask god ..)

go head
imbibe wine
look for truth

(soon be dead)
look for love
and sing:

we will live on!
in the way of believing
in water and stone..

go break bread!
(in the ways between
death and living..)

look around
take it in
around and around..

i found a snow flake
(a lesson for us all
original if full
of holes..)

she told of love
fell from above
iridescent dove
(with the huff..)

what to make
turning blood
if it would
one day s
it stood

mighty but
lost
cold we flossed
no place to
go..

ii

my name is lily
she said
(and tossed an unanointed
point through
my heart)

first we must die
to live
(-roll me a spliff
you give and i
take-easy..)

we are ancient and
freed
our seed
our eternal way
some ways
lay..

iii)

taste this stuff
it dance on the
tongue
in color ripe
always young

alright enough
you have enough
i have
love
to give..

lily,you say..?
i found a snow flake
it was ***** and
forgotten
i have wisdom
you have light..

with her might
she twisted and followed
in-dum-dum
a light..!
a barb dripped

stay there..
now we stay
i watched across
the floor
so far away
fire..

she returns and
like an angel
makes her offering
a sacrifice
and simple

smiles
he gave me his lighter
smoke like
while
time..

iv)

lily
what to say
say nothing
look here
do you want some
well,it is mine
let us not forget
the concept of
possession
or would you
thankyou
i am old school
and here we render unto
caesar..

v)

you may have the
wind in the trees
and beauty
a lot of wood
and seeds, mostly
(yeah,well this is
1979..what can you do?)
i prefer hash
so do i..
so what we live
we die
i can live free!
you read hesse?
i prefer the russians
is nt the waiter
odd
yes,he is-
his children
are beautiful
is there work
i don´t want to work
i had some good jobs
i had bad-digging holes
carrying bricks
you are mad...you want
to hear a joke..

we stayed in white
boxes
the showers were live
wired
the landlady was
kind
fish and soup
wheelbarrows and
pelican
our landlord enjoyed
our parties
he shook all our
hands
we had to lock the
door in the end
his vegetable garden
we were proud!
the surf was the last
noise..soon we were
gone and on the beach
when the tourists came
the english in their underpants
we were on our toes..

vi

he keeps putting his
tongue at me
it´s the cold
is that his wife
yes,did you eat
did you eat
we will go to the
soup kitchen
sounds delightful
and down copious
cheap claret
for a panacea
what is that
is a goat tethered
upside down
the cuisine is
sin
and gold pouring..
ah,to be young..

vi

in the cinema
and off to the disco
in the olive groves
a white house

in the sun
in the evening
with beer and
coffee and cognac..

a hot tree party
what a time
a lesson learned
carrying water
how the children
played..

trapped in the dance
hawkwind slayed
us
no mercy
stuck for months
we raved..

ii)

after i went to
the lowlands
my old van
in among
the daffodils

and carp-
after such a cold
winter and a
mad spring
on our bicycles

a harp sky
after sundry
breakdowns
tears like clock-
works
man at c and a..
spinning cheeses
i would go

see fiet
who was nice
and in a remarkably
small area
in a canal boat
had many
cats and dogs and
a chicken and served
tea..

she told of her life
¨when i was a lady..¨
sometimes war
broke out
skaters would glide
by
piles of beautiful
old books..

and a cat on top
she told me of
jan steen
and through her
i saw love
once some children
brought a swan
they thought dead
but she(fiet)
blew up it´s nose
and it flew off..
who was most surprised..lol..

she had one small dog
who went everywhere
with her
it perched high in
the passenger seat
of her 2cv..
with a smile and
windswept fur..
possessive and guarded..

fiet was a journalist
but she grew tired
as we do
she was kind
an interesting mind
she was someone to
lift the chill
and she apologised
for the mess
well,it was sunday
we ate chess nuts!
while the cats and
dogs and chicken
played..
