but the past caught up with us

soul mate
Silva Mee Jul 2024
in many ways he was like
all the other men
she had loved and left before
but there was something about him
that felt different
exciting and mysterious
it made her shiver
with delight and expectation
but also anxious
as she discovered a longing in her
she had not experienced before
this unknown desire alarmed her
and she feared loosing control
I need to quickly decide
whether to leave him or
to succumb to my desire
she hastily thought
yet there was no rush
her heart had already decided
as this time she had met
her soul mate

You tell me that the perfume
you bought for her
she only wore for other men
but you do not realise that the perfume
I bought for myself
I am only wearing for you.

The place in your heart
is still occupied

Doubts
Silva Mee May 2018
Words, words, so many words.
Where do I begin?
Where do I end?
What is my story?
Do I have a story?
Do I need a story?
Is anybody interested in my story?
It is only me who writes.
Words, words, so many words.

from the safety of her home
she watches people passing by
and wonders whether
she should go out

observing people‘s behaviour
she painfully realises
that they are seemingly oblivious
to the dangers of the virus

so she sighs and decides to stay at home

You are so relaxed
When you are with me
All your worries disappear
And calmness descends upon your soul
There is understanding
Between you and me
And a harmony that others sense
People look at us and smile
They do not know
That you have left me
long ago
