Standing…
Where once
was you.

I gaze out…
Watching…
Waves
… gently roll.

I dream.

Sounds
… of the sea.

Feeling of sand.

I close my eyes
And…,
Again
Here you stand.

A touch
… on my hand
Takes me;

In a moment
Just a moment
I am free.
Free, to go
… to long ago
When…
It was you…
Who was wanting me.

Laughing lovers;
Dawning sun;
Gentle spray
… from the sea.

Suddenly,
Words...
“ I love you”

A moment of joy
Turns…
To tragedy.

I hear
His heart
Beating.

Here…
Across the room.

Twinkling lights;
The Yule log;

Parcels…
Shimmer
Beneath the tree…

I can feel… his smile
No-one else
… in view.

He…. recognizes
A need
… in me.

Oh, am I a fool;

Everyone
Sleeps
… now.

Christmas…
Christmas,
Soon will dawn;

He looks at me
I am
… his little present

What… we do
… is wrong.

He sees…
How… I want him.

He holds me…
And, tells me…
Go away

He grabs me tight
He takes me
To him…

I am merely play.

Runaway, runaway,
Runaway home.

Alone in a crowd;
No place to be alone.

So far… from familiar;
The familiar is never here.

The familiar is a dream
A nightmare… I fear.

Alone… in the darkness.
Alone… in a crowd.

Heart’s forever screaming
The silence is… too loud.
Motions and smiles
People strolling …along the bay.
They walk all around me
But, I hear not… a word they say.

Runaway, runaway,
no place… but alone.

Alone in a crowd.

Alone;
And… on my own.

.

I hear
… my heart.

My eyes
… are closed;

I feel
A touch…

A velvet rose.

The taste
Your lips…

Such wine
… is mine!

Again,…
It's rain!?

Sounds of the chime.

Feeling…
time
Passing.

Time…
Fills the room.

Hearing …
A heart;
Beating.

Echoing
… like in a womb.

Darkness
Brings
Solace;

The sand
… falls away.

Soon,
Time
…will take me;

Time,
… will have its say.

A smell…
Morning coffee;
Ah, … the morning light;

I hear the others in the hall.
Oh will;... may-be it"ll be

Tonight.

Four am.

Rain softens
… along the path.

Puddles…
Still; Silent; Dark;
… free.

Noises…;
A sleepless city
Hurries… beyond a stony gate.

Vehicles hasten … to destinations
Unknown;

Couples laugh
… under umbrellas;

Only I
And…
Raindrops
Know…
The solitude
Here
… in the park.

Wispy mist
Pervades
The darkness;

Puddles…
Begin to dance;

Retreat;

Here.
The air …
Peaceful; Silent; Content;

The rain ends.

A cool fragrance…

Memories…land
Like a summer-storm
You… overwhelm my mind.

Time moves

Like…
A single solitary raindrop

Falling
… into a puddle;

Along the walk
Lamp-lights
play… in ripples

Memories;
Laughter…
Tears…
So many years

Gone…

The return of warmth…
Held
… within
An exquisite tingle.

A peaceful chill;

A smile surrenders;

Darkness holds
… another day;

Once more
… rain falls.
