Box
I was in a cage.
In that cage for so long, I couldn’t breathe.
But you came and broke me out of that cage-
Allowed me to believe I was free.
Free to breathe, to love, to touch.
Never noticing the walls slowly closing in around me until it was too late.
You brought me out of my cage,
only to shove me in a box.

It’s a fragile thing- life.
Growing up with hopes and dreams,
False hopes. False dreams.
Being enabled by the words :
“You can be anything once you set your mind to it”
Being enabled to the sheer thought that the universe is at your disposal.
Get a grip.
Can’t you see within the irises of the universe that you are nothing more than a Blink.
Nothing more than a foreign concept to the very existence of time and space.
Clawing your way to Whats perceived to be the top.
Because what’s at the top is “happiness” and “fame” and what were supposed to be your dreams.
But once you get there-
You find the top of the pyramid is the loneliest place on earth.
And that you’ll only matter for a blink.

The intent is always there
But putting the pen to paper is like hands.
Hands closing in around your throat.
Suffocating.
You push. And fight
Thinking “I’m just trying to write”
You put the pen down.
The hands that were never there disappear
But you’re still suffocating.

No one knows,
Knows what's truly persisting down below.
So many people, alone.
Just fighting in a place they call home.

Fallen,
Burning amongst the flames.
Fighting a war within,
That she struggles to tame.
Do not
Force people
To see in you,
What they can not see
Effortlessly..
Because at the end of it all,we choose to see what we want to see in everyone.

She used to be lost;
Was lost among the fallen.
But, alas, She rose.
