I feel a hundred emotions burning in me,
waiting to erupt like lava from the Earth
while I fight to hold them in.

I cannot quite imagine a sorrow
like the one that would drown me
if you were to start a new life like
you say you want to.

The idea runs through me,
a venom that threatens my heart.
I’m choking on the thought.

I think of this, and then look into your eyes.
What would I do if they told me goodbye?
To truly love someone, is unselfish.
Go if you feel that’s your dream.

But I cannot help but wonder
how fast my heart would crumble.
I cannot help but wonder
what those infamous “goodbye” kisses feel like.
A bittersweet taste for the lips.

I've heard a kiss can ****.

Too Quiet

This house is too quiet
Too sad
Too cold
I walk across a dimly lit room
I can hear the floor creaking beneath my feet
I can hear birds singing songs outside
Nobody sings inside
Steady sullen silence
Nobody sings inside
This house is too quiet
Too sad
Too cold
Did I do something wrong?
Stupid question
Can you forgive me?
Better question
I ask you to sit down and listen
You can't wait to leave the room
Why won't you talk to me?
Are you afraid?
Have you heard it all before?
Did I do something wrong?
Can you forgive me?
This house is too quiet
Too sad
Too cold
I remember when we were best friends
We could talk about anything
We could talk about nothing
Nobody talks anymore
Steady sullen silence
Nobody sings inside
I am singing inside
I am smiling inside
I want you to sing
I want you to smile
This house is too quiet
Too sad
Too cold

Men
When I was young, I used to
Watch behind the curtains
As men walked up and down the street. Wino men, old men.
Young men sharp as mustard.
See them. Men are always
Going somewhere.
They knew I was there. Fifteen
Years old and starving for them.
Under my window, they would pause,
Their shoulders high like the
******* of a young girl,
Jacket tails slapping over
Those behinds,
Men.

One day they hold you in the
Palms of their hands, gentle, as if you
Were the last raw egg in the world. Then
They tighten up. Just a little. The
First squeeze is nice. A quick hug.
Soft into your defenselessness. A little
More. The hurt begins. Wrench out a
Smile that slides around the fear. When the
Air disappears,
Your mind pops, exploding fiercely, briefly,
Like the head of a kitchen match. Shattered.
It is your juice
That runs down their legs. Staining their shoes.
When the earth rights itself again,
And taste tries to return to the tongue,
Your body has slammed shut. Forever.
No keys exist.

Then the window draws full upon
Your mind. There, just beyond
The sway of curtains, men walk.
Knowing something.
Going someplace.
But this time, I will simply
Stand and watch.

Maybe.

let the bugs eat my body
let the tears drown the memories
let the fears dry in sorrow
set my soul free and reach the tender infinity

The in between's, middle's,
Nor here nor there’s boggle my
Mind.
Indigo, Mauve, Maroon are just
Blue, Purple and Red in my
Eyes.
Why anyone would ever want
To complicate such easy ways is beyond
Me.

Maybe’s, undecided’s.
Why not just yes’ and no’s?
Big city, small town.
Why suburbs?
Black and white.
No grey's.
That’s how I wish you would
See.

But you are you and I am me.
And maybe there’s just too much
In between,
For us
to Be.

the fear of living with a burden on my chest

the fear of me becoming something i am not troubles me

the mistakes i could make can effect my life

my old self could return i fight my demons everyday of my life and i win!

Fear is that one emotion you can love and hate because living life by taking risks is the only way you can get anywhere
