she looks at the girl
in front of her
her lips bruised
her eyes hollow

she hated what she saw
they were right
fat, ugly, unwanted
their words branded her skin

she could feel herself fading
her desire to be on this earth
is gone

she grabbed a piece of paper
and spilled her sorrows
for tomorrow
she's gone

two pairs of lips quiver
millimeters apart
tasting the same air
sweat
and lost, forgotten whispers
gasps of ‘i love you’s
are planted along skins
like forget-me-nots
goosebumps germinate
under hair follicles
like freshly plotted seeds
waiting their moments
of glory to sprout
fingers lace
creating mazes of
lustful desire
and yearning for protection
comfort
and Love
sweat mixes
creating chemicals
mixing past hurt
and fears of vulnerability
gravity stops
it has done its job
because it is not the ground
that holds the scared Lovers
to Life now

These words aren’t about you.
They’re about the person I let rent space
inside my heart.
They’re about the times I wished I could go back
and say to them, “No it’s okay, you can stay longer
I don’t care if your payment is late."
Because having you there was enough.
But these words aren’t about you.
They’re for the person still hiding behind these drained eyes.
These shaking fingers.
These weak limbs.
And I’m still not sure which is better;
to feel everything at once or nothing at all.
Because sometimes it is both,
and you are the gushing waters drowning my lungs.
And sometimes it is neither,
and you are the words I wish I could take back.
We always left so many of them unsaid,
letting our bodies do the talking.
But now I wonder how many conversations
we’ve had with each other when we
thought we were asleep.

she was quiet
without a single breath and then

but when I
leave they do
all
the bad things

and all the breath escaped
and she was very much
like a child on her bed
wet fingers curled
around her face

Lately,
he's been
very good
about losing
his parts.

It's been at least a
month since we've
had to piece him
back together.
