His Love His Life
Tammy M Darby Nov 2013
He touched her with his big hands,
Kissed away the flow of tears
He offered his strength
She let the pain go.
He was the only one she could do this with

Rocking her gently
Pretending not to notice,
The quiet whimpering.
The muffled cries
Guarding her heart from all trespassers
While he stared into the night

He would never again allow sadness to befall her,
An oath he took to himself.
To the gods he prayed,
To protect her from harm
Pledging his soul
Any who dare try he would slay.
He is now and forever her protector,
She loved him,
Though some fear remained.

He was solid and hard as granite,
She was very dear to him,
His love.
His life.
Knowing of her sadness
He saw lines of violence
Written upon the small face

After a while the shadows disappeared,
From his beloved’s world
As he held her close, stroked her hair and sighed.
She was oh so very dear to him this damaged soul
His love,
His life.

The Poet
Tammy M Darby Nov 2013
Hunched over the worn desk
In the ***** yellow light
Trying to arrange thoughts in array
A  small mad woman with a pen in hand
On the paper drops of life did lay

The mind soared to the golden heavens
Dove blindly into the gates of hell
Using her favorite metaphors wildly
Dark poetry from a ghost-filled well

Eyes shining with frightening excitement
The feather pen moved on its own
Stories of a thousand lost years
Through legends of Troy, Atlantis, and fairyland, she would roam

Weary now of endless imagination
The ink dried the words would keep
Impish smile of triumph on her face
Rest her mind in an enchanted sleep

If by chance
Tammy M Darby Nov 2013
You see me weeping
Dont be alarmed
Its just pain seeping
From the crack
That has formed within my heart

If by chance
You see me smiling
An excellent actress
To myself I am lying
Sadness my company that day

If by chance you see me dying
Dont be foolish
Cease the crying
I chose the path
Love great deceiver
The bearer of violence

If by chance you see me weeping
Or behind my shadow creeping
My soul is gone
Rising high with the sun's rays

I consume hate
Tammy M Darby Nov 2013
A rare exotic meal
The emotions to destroy
****** and ****
I discipline my hands
Of my actions in command
My obsession with revenge being quite real

I consume hate
Passion will be my crime
An assassin of love
Silently bidding my time

Justice power unbound
When they place you cold in the ground
For you see I consume hate
A bite at a time

Blue skies retreating began to fall
The appointment she must keep
Will cause deceitful eyes to weep
For this is just the beginning of it all

So now even the stars become lightless
Black and dying
Evil deeds sing their songs smiling
They are calling your name
The cost of participation in the game
It was your choice and yours alone to risk it all
Karma sits tapping her feet
Waiting in the hall

I await you
Tammy M Darby Nov 2013
Come to me
Burning hearts desire
As stars dance across the night sky
I await you

Though only a shade you may be
You are that which I live and breathe
A love I shall never physically posses
For no life beats in this alien chest

Only during the night while I sleep
My mind saturated with thoughts
Darkness  seeds
Childish mistakes
Present choices
The paranoia of a vivid imagination
Insanity's voices

When slumbers silver carriage arrives
I open the door and prepare for the ride
Hands outstretched
I plead with no shame
While all the world sleeps
Come to me in my dreams
I await you

Hardly ever spoken
No one understands
Or in my descriptive verse
The tongue of those who toil
Language of the common man

Perhaps I will conjure up eighteen letter words
That no one bothers to read
To portray myself as cultured
Intelligent
Or write to impress using rhymes extinct

An artist of words
I shall say what I know and feel
Poetry written from the soul
That can be touched
Tasted and real

Instead of ancient unknown letters on paper
Carelessly discarded sooner or later
For the elite of mind easily bored
Seek to read more jaded material

Monetary gain being of no consideration
No compensation sought
Painting pictures of life in actuality
A presentation of a poets thoughts

Doing my best to let my stories be heard
Carefully pick and choose
I will speak in the tongue of the everyday man
Instead of words rarely used

The thoughts in my mind
Tammy M Darby Oct 2013
Danced to and fro keeping time
Coercing voices of the past
Threatened to pull me down
Into a void of darkness
Where they have chosen to lie

Banishing hope with mere words
In its place unending pain
The weight of sadness lay like stone
Tears of mortals
Emotion produced rain

It is a war between the good and bad
The psychotic thoughts in my mind
Ideas I sometimes entertain late at night
Would send chills down your spine
My brain a struggle between discipline and reality
In control of my frail being
The conscious and sane faction

I decline the song of the seductive voices
That call from the echoing pit
Ghostly sirens of fading time
As they dance to and fro
In a frenzied pace
To the maniacal thoughts in my mind

The Fiend
Tammy M Darby Oct 2013
It has crept upon me
Twice in my life
Knowing eyes shining
Fangs dipped in  power

My broken heart its prey
Pale soul the desired acquisition
Threatening to devour me entirely
Unless given complete submission

Ruler of the logical mind
Commander of emotions
Its strategic maneuvers
Send you to the blackest of hell
To the depths of uncharted oceans

You will never convince me
It is a blessing from above
Madness that can decimate the body
Disguised in the wings of a white pure dove

This monster who demands sacrifice
Arrayed in the finest attire
Of cruelty and humiliation
The fiend love
Who requires you bow down
With unquestioning adoration

The Gray
Tammy M Darby Oct 2013
The cold gray swept across the sky
Sad winds
Encircled my heart
No warmth of love to defend me
Iciness forced my soul into the dark

The emotion of desolate loneliness
We suffered together in silence
As the gray moved through me slowly
Ever so carefully and quiet

Sweet thick fog that envelopes me
A reclusive world of frozen screams
It is my sympathetic companion
Who lives in my nightmares
My dreams

Thirty pieces of silver
Tammy M Darby Oct 2013
You were easily bought
For you Judas is the perfect part
The one you have chosen to play
Thirty pieces of silver

The money within hands reach
You must follow through
Destroy the one who loves you most
Raise your glass to your soon to be riches
Proclaim your toast
Thirty pieces of silver

Cursed silver coins tossed and cast around
To acquire these shiny gods
You must kneel down
It is fitting a snake be on the ground
That Judas you would be

Now lastly you must find a tree
The one from which
Your body shall sway quietly in the breeze
Who will hear your last breath
For an evil heart  and a love untrue
So I offer this gift
Thirty pieces of silver

I once loved you
Tammy M Darby Oct 2013
Secure that of all in the world
Yours was the shoulder I could lean on
In your safe arms I could rest
When life became too overwhelming
Put my strength to the test

I once loved you
Thought myself under tender protection
Plotting carefully unknown to me
You dealt me rejection
For a time  I was alone and frightened

Of this fact you were quite aware
Otherwise you would not have dared
To treat me so cruelly
For in truth
You are a coward

I once loved you
More than the moon and sun
Until the lies became truth
It all was undone
The betrayal showed its head

So your life rightly shall be
The same hell you intended for me
I ask myself how could it be
I once loved you

I Sleep the sleep
Tammy M Darby Oct 2013
In grounds coldness and depth
Wrapped in promises never kept
The skies coal black
Faded to gray
In a wooden coffin
My body forever lay

Resting on white satin
Loves pitiful demise
Affections coy smile
Closed my eyes

Crimson tapestry of deceit
Hearts loss of faith
Destroyed the soul
In passions fiery wake

I sleep the sleep
My quiet abode
The silent deep
Beside my soft grave
The gathering mourners weep

So I exist
Tammy M Darby Oct 2013
Brain swirling with  brilliant living colors
The onset of madness
Thorn covered  soul
Touched by  melancholy hands
The disease of sadness
Silently creeping down illuminated halls
To my anonymous world

Erratic chains of thoughts
Slide down shiny rippling creeks
Un- disciplined nerves
Angry responses
Unexpected and shocking
Raw reactions
Tempered with moments
Of burning white hot sanity
This is my life
So I exist

This human body of emotions
Is ruled by a flesh composed *****
Through which with each and every beat
My thick red blood flows
In cellular
Molecular rhythm
This fibrous muscle
Is gravely injured
A  bleeding hole
That heals slowly
As I breathe in and out

This is my life
So I exist

Or again be felled by a madman's blow
I will harden my heart
Set my love apart
Announcing this with a vengenance
So all will know

I will never let my weakness show
Or live my life
In submission dying slow
Tethering my fears
Drying violence's tears
I control my emotions
As karma's seeds are sown
I must never let my weakness show

Do you See
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
In my dark eyes do you see
The monster hidden behind words
Crouching within
Hate coursing through my blood
Revenge driving my brain
Mad with anquish
Rife with hallucination

In my eyes do you see
What I have become
A insane woman ranting
Singing deaths  song
Chanting
Dragging betrayal by hand along
As I dance the steps of the lost
It is the cost
Of my deep yearning
What I desire to be
In my eyes do you see

The Moon

A goddess the tantalizing moon
Sat demurely
Beneath her father the universe's skies
Gaia did grace the living orb
Revolving green
When sunset sought dark hours
With pale milky beams

I do my best to hide the pain
Drowning in laughter and a painted smile
Hoping my cries go unheard
By those dearest to me

Weak I do my best
At playing the unwanted part
No hand offered
Or prayers said on my behalf
Will the halt the decline
Dying is my heart

So each day I rise
Though I am now dead within
For with loves fickleness I lie
To my audience I  bow
A talented actor
My life the stage
I do my best to hide the pain

The Witch
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
A powerful witch
She began to spin
Waiting for the spell to begin

Head held high
She did not weep
Close to the heart
Revenge did keep

Strong in mind
Never break
Upon red moon
His life did take

Now she danced arms raised to the sky
As the captured soul
faded and died

A fierce creature
From beginning to end
Beware of the witch
When she starts to spin

The Plague
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
I am a plague
There is no cure
Creeping into your body
I must be endured

Moving silently through the air
Spreading rapidly by touch
Crying child to mothers breast
It is death she will clutch

Claiming thousands of lives
Having no rhythmic selection
Class has no boundary
So random is my infection

Consuming high to low
My kiss of disease is feared
Rats and fleas sometimes my vehicle
Appearing when I will

So if my mark on man
Surface before your eyes
Flee rapidly without delay
Or you too surely will die

After I have had my fill of the living
I shall quickly disappear
Gracing humanity with my cloak of coldness
When least expected
I will be there

Waking Nightmares
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
The days pass rapidly now
I no longer remember your face
Yet I still recall the salty taste
Blood in my mouth from a hard blow

Wiping away the tears
To rid myself of memories
Do my utmost best
On the ground I lay
Your boots to my chest
Ah yes
This pain remains with me still

Terrible heart pounding dreams
Tender spots on my head
The striking of your fists
The color of red coats my long brown hair

Hands around my throat
Squeezing tight
Your intention evident
As my breath is taken
To extinguish my life

Why is it
I live in fear
Of attack
Day after day
From darkness to dawn
Though you are not near
My heart warns beware
As I must continue to exist
Or find a pathway to escape
Waking nightmares

The Frost
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
The first frost came
When I was very young
Naive in the ways of men
It set in my soul
Cold winds
Sharp as razors
Through my tender heart did blow

Second came the  frost
Which almost took my life
For in love I was deeply
Deaf
Without sight
Unaware his affection was a lie
The frost arrived without warning
Tears of ice I cried
My soul deep in mourning

The last warm piece of heart
My beloved
My soul
Before he could take my hand
Called to Gods house
In the chritian religion of man
The cold deepened beyond depth
This was the third
This was the last

Now my heart is a sculpture of ice
So follows is my unique and lonely life
I have little tolerance for love
Its accumlative loss
So in my future
There will be no more frost

Am I Insane
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
Am I insane
Is my work in your opinoin
Interesting
Mundane
Not that your sum of me is of importance
Relaying this with no reservation
I am just making polite conversation

I often wonder if am I insane
As many of the judgemental populous claim
Certainly not
Just a bizzare poet
Full of the truth others
Lack the courage to seek
For this reason  alone
I am given full literary rein

To describe the universe
Life and death
In my sly and leading words
A kaleidscope of my thoughts
Come spilling out unhindered
I am quite helpless
The pen has a will of its own

Am I insane
As the people that warily observe me say
In comparison to their lives
A touch eccentric
A little strange
But you are the one reading this
Line after line not stopping
Now tell me who is insane

Bound within the Cage
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
Bound within the cage
Confusing thoughts of youth and age
Though no barriers are visible
They are most assuredly present

I cannot pass beyond the invisible line
Infused to the wrinkles in time
Imprisoned surely and fast
My heart in platnium chains
Placed behind iron bars

Bound within the cage
The elixir of love evermore
Sweet sour concoction often shunned
I steadfastly refuse to taste
Or bring this potion to my lips
So it is in this jail I shall sit
Bound within the cage

I am not afraid of Death
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
I am not afraid of death
I am frightened of living
Carelessly giving
My heart to another
Excepting the risk
Of being destroyed

I view the world with cynical eyes
Discipline my pain
Stifle my cries
Summoning up the courage
To continue to take breath

I am not afraid of death
Hear me
I am afraid of seeing
In sheer terror of being

Alive

The Enchantress
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
She flew in her chariot by the light of the moon
Knowing the day would come all too soon
Gathering herbs from underground
The forest of darkness where twas no sound

To the river of blood to fetch her wine
Imps hovered about
Ran fast the time

From the wing of white owl
Snatched three feathers
Out of midnight sky
Stars of heather
The mountains north vials of whispering winds
Tails of magical deer
Running forbidden glens

In charm covered cape
To sacred circle flew
Leaving behind a trail of sparkling hue
Incantations spoken
Revenge beget
The man who spurned her
He demons would get

She drew up the potion
Called forth the demon
Hells brimstone smoke
Dead souls singing

Orders from the woman
Sent the Devils spawn into flight
With orders to return the following night

The night time fell
As did the following day
Black flickering lights in pentagram array
Each dark candle did kindle desire
The demon appeared amid red fire
Spells muttered under breath
Cast the ancient way
Over the conjured one silver bond did lay

To despised castle
I commandthee
Destroy the man
The one she had loved
Pledged to another's hand

Fly now winged one
Not one more moment spent
Evil black smoke
In a swirl the demon went

To the bedchamber of the king
Dispatched him with single blow
Wretched creature peered into his thoughts
As life ebbed in drops from body slow

His love for the strange enchantress
Hearts secret she did not know
Ghastly smile on the demons face
For the price of desire was her soul

The Curse
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
The moon waned yellow
On green bough slip
Flowing water to putrid wine
Upon evil lips

Eyes cloud hazy
With cobweb veil
Dark soul shudders
Horned demons sail

Hands shake and tremble
As magic drams do fetch
Loneliness lays heavy covering
On a marked doomed wretch

Honed fine sharp edge
The heart will slice
Rest in black silk coffin
Blood cold as ice

Do Nothings
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
To all you do nothings
Sitting quietly at home
Afraid to voice your opinions
Sitting still as stone
You will be the first ones in line to die
When the bombs start to drop from friendly skies

You think by not speaking
Hiding in your little room
You and yours will be saved
Come the day of red doom

So remain where you are
Never uttering a word
When the war begins
Your screams will not be heard

Closing the Door
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
Sometimes in my idleness
I peer behind the door
Out escapes a dark specter
A shadow I desired to see no more

This danger to my being
Pass through my frightened mind
As the shaking begins
Trying to remember
It exists only in past time

It no longer has the physical power
In any way influence my life
Its presence
Only that of stale air
Of misspent love and strife

No more will rough hands strangle me
Or throw me with without care  to the floor
Inflicting its own mind’s pain upon me
I slowly close the door

I am a strange combination
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
Of woman's strength
Feminine emotion
Novice poet of rhyme
Wandering traveler in time
A skilled hunter

I am an outlaw
Choosing not to embrace conformity
Or integrate into the system
Societies matrix
The definition of normal
Existing uneasily on the fringe

Confederate born
Southern bred
I fly my flag with pride overhead
Not out of hate
To represent the heritage of my birth

A scholar
Obscurity is my chosen environment
Connoisseur of the written word
The yellowed paper soon obsolete

These are my many attributions
I will not dispute it
Indeed I am a maze of confusion
In the conscious world
I am a strange combination

The Fool has awakened
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
My once unfaltering love
Has transformed into hate
As for my hearts restoration
I sit in silence and wait
Being deprived of that
Which was my breath

I have burned all the pictures
Reviewed the sad memories
Thoughts and plans executed
By he who in guile was my enemy
While still professing to love me

Realizing now the steps to destroy
Were calculated
Intentional
The tactics used are hardly worth mentioning
Gathering my wits about me
Launched a counter offensive
The fool has awakened

Now come the repercussions
Of all your selfish plans
The world becomes as fragile as water
Running through your greedy hands
It will be as though you are gasping for air
To speak such words
You wonder how I dare

The fool has awakened

The Painting of Love
Tammy M Darby Sep 2013
Love is poison
Innocence refuse its taste
Lay a tender heart to waste

Love is pain
A  festering wound
Inviting the sleep of forever
Far too soon

Love is fear
Spurred by violence
Bruised submission
Soul shriveling
The voice a mere whisper

Love is a dark painting
Many colors strewn round
Till death embrace you in the ground

Barbed Wire
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
It imprisons my heart
A piercing repetition of assault
Carved deeply into my soul

Barbed wire
It protects me
Allowing no one in
I am inapproachable
Metal soldiers
That guard me
Torture from within

I  do not associate myself
With emotion of ruin
As tiny drops of red flow
From my present and previous wounds

Though the bleeding persists
In my naivety insist
On staunching the wounds
Draining my life

Barbed wire

On Loves Death bed I lay
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
My face gaunt
I cannot sleep
Lay down
Eyes close
Only to weep

I am trapped
In a world of ghosts
Distrust and pain
Barely breathing
On love's death bed I lay

Blinded by loyalty
The assassin was faith
Betrayal
On the lips linger
A vile taste

A slow demise
Day after day
My soul lies wasting
On love's death bed I lay

Black flowers
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
I have a  garden
No one ever sees
From all others set apart
In it grows black flowers
The color of your treacherous heart

They have the smell of rotting ground
Outgrowing every flower around
Ugly to the eyes
Always need weeding
Much to my distaste
Always seeding

Black flowers for my love betrayed
Black flowers for words spoken
Black flowers for a love lost
Black flowers for a heart broken

Though I rip them out
By ones and twos
Leaving an empty space
In the morning
Much to my disbelief
Others have taken their place

Legends say black flowers
Should be given
To heart untrue
There is no one I know
Who deserves them more
So black flowers I give to you

Ink of sadness
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
I pledged my love
I pledged my youth
It would be many years
Before me stand truth
The face that smiled with kindness
The loyalty I bore
My word given before god
Maintained the blindness

This perpetrator of violence
The need for submission
Ground grateful and willingly
Underneath hard heel

This life of falseness
Living in crimson fear
Distorted
Drops of blood so real

Then from the blows of darkness
Rose a stranger
I had yet to know
Pen in hand
Stack of paper
The ink of sadness
In rivulets flowed

Writing of the hearts pain
Of death
Come all too soon
Happiness love loss despair
The price of being human

A Monster on the loose
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
There is a monster on the loose
My story of three he abused
One is lost
Two is dead
But three was smarter
Used her head

To torment this offender
Expose his violent past
So all would know what he spoke was lies
I will tell the truth at last

He is not truthful
He is not kind
Once attained what is desired
He does not give a ****

For women deep inside his soul
He bears a rotting hate
But he cannot be seen with out one
He has an image to maintain

So I say to this monster
Do not come around
Because your second victim
Waits for you in the ground

I can prove all I say with complete documentation
And more if I so chose
Just be careful when out at night
There is a monster on the loose

What are you?
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
Are you resting quietly
Without a sound
No longer a slave to emotions
Or earthly bound

Perhaps
A ghost floating through the air
Being a spirit having not a care
Except to find a place to rattle your chains
Haunting the living
On the wax and wane
What are you

Are you a complex combination of alien energy
Enlightened soul in flight
Mixture of protons neutrons electrons
A blinding atomic light

Or just a cool body
Placed in the ground
Mourners in single file
Solemn faces come round
Each one expressing their sadness
At your departure

What are you

Word Chaser
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
Off I go
To the ****** ward
For the chasing of elusive words
I round them up and write them down
A poet demanding to be heard

Using only a word at a time
I will never have enough
So here I sit in the silly ward
A word chaser
A nut

The more words I write
The more I want
It has become an insatiable greed
Words I must have them all
Not a wanting
An uncontrollable need

My crime is that I am a word chaser
Many cannot understand
So this is my explanation
As I scrawl with pen in hand

Yes I am a pursuer of words
And all the letters I find
Line them up
Assigning their places
I paint them with metaphor and rhyme

A word chaser yes
Without reservation these faults I confess
Though my hands are no longer tied
The door is forever shut
So in the ****** ward I will remain
A word chaser'
A nut

The stars came falling down
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
The universe shook the planets askew
Deep oceans ran dry no longer blue
The moon wept in anguish and pain
Thick black drops of poison rain

It started with one rouge nation
Allies joined in
Cruise missiles were launched
The war had begun
People in horror tried to run
Too late
As the stars came falling down

Radiated smoke choked all living beings
The bombs exploding
Ears ringing
Sounds of the dying
Sounds of the screaming
And the stars came falling down

Now ash and bone
All countries prevailed
Man exists no more
Only death's lonely wail
When the stars came falling down

The Shadows await
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
Costumes though they be many
A changeling you will never be
Your world is that
Of shadows and ghosts
Bearing down upon you
Revenges weight

Of hearts blood spilled
In rivulets of red
Sadness and fear
A shadows tear

Laid low
Forced to bow and kneel
Greediness
Your king
Took your hand and led
You followed blindly
As the dark ones began to sing

Now you regret
Deeds without thought
In the web of deciet
The souls you caught

Bitterness replaced the need of covet
The rewards of cruelty
Lives laid to waste
Sipping the wine
Turned to vinegar
How do you like its taste

Voices of the shadows dripping sweet with promises
It will be the sounds that take root in your mind
Now full of coin you have attained the status sought
How truly little you have gained

So shall your life
Pass through hells gate
The game is over
The shadows await

The Cold Breeze
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
I am the cold breeze
Come dancing through the trees
The chill makes you turn round
Straining for the  errie  sound
That jolts you into panic
Each time it appears
Guilt is its name

I am the ground
You tread upon
Day after day
Enduring
This I will tolerate
Not a word will I say
For I am very patient

The ray of sun revealing all
Shining warm on your face
Still you strive to hide the disgrace you bear
By secreting it in the dark place of your soul

The moon
My milky beams lay upon you
As you fly down the asphalt
Rising up from the road
My reflection
The sadness in my eyes is all you see
As you take your final ride
I am the cold breeze

A Thousand Kisses
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
A thousand kisses
You did pledge
Turn to tears in my bed

A thousand kisses
A thousand lies
Lay before me
Dark truth
Dawning skies

A thousand kisses
A thousand blows
The pain of love that no one knows
Except the victim
A thousand kisses

Tea with a Witch
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
Sitting on my porch
One fine autumn evening
Flew by me a witch of Gaya
In latin bade me greetings

Inviting her in for a cup of tea
It was after all the polite thing to do
She was powerful in the way of charms
Lest she put on a me a terrible spell
My hospitality I did not refuse

So up my steps
Slowly she came
Shaking the dust from her clothes
Bringing  thunder and rain

I bowed to her and marveled
Her travels  have been many
She spoke stating that her appetite was great
Serving cheese and bread on a plate
I  refrained from having any

She wore a old black frock
Thick black bearskin cape
A warm and satisfied look on her face
Before speaking sighed deeply and said to me
I desire a stout cup of evening tea
I fixed my best brew for her of course
Not wanting to be turned into a horse

She narrowed her eyes
Took note of my size
Pouring from a silver bottle into her cup
She had hidden in her coat
Took a sip and laughed a little
Thanked me for being a wonderful host

So after a chat
A brief social interlude
She begged take leave
Grabbed her enchanted broom

She turned round and said
Thee have been kind to me
Knowing I am a witch
You did not tremble and looked me in the eye
So I give you blessings
From the earth and sky

So now and forever your cup shall be full
Before you shall go your fame
Your trees heavily laden with sweet ripe fruit
Golden fields heavy with grain

She departed as quickly as she arrived
Disappearing into the skies
Her word was good
As my cup of tea
All came to pass
As she said it would be

Chasing the Dragon
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
One can only imagine
The height and peaks
That may be reached
Until the chase begins

Off dreamland you go
The smoke is offered to all
Who seek this elusive creature
Possessing desire to gaze into its eyes

Chasing the Dragon
Rare nectar for the mind
It may only be found
In the gray fog of sweetness

Within  swirling curls of smoke
Carefully hidden
The dragons yoke
For once tasted
Forever will you crave the hunt

So as the rest
I chase the dragon
Through out the universe and time
My life never more be my own
Tall mountains I will climb
In my quest to ensnare the beast
Chasing the dragon

I Build the Walls
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
I build the walls
Higher and higher
Counting the secs
Every minute
Every hour

I construct my jail
Block by block
Marking the time
The click of life's clock

Surrounding my barred prison
With bog and mire
Inside this black circle
A blue ring of fire

Cementing the cracks
***** by *****
Always contemplating
As I close my self in

Now my barbed towers kiss the sky
As many know me
No longer question why

I build the walls
Higher and higher
Counting the secs
Every minute
Every hour

The Resistance
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
The resistance spread
A growing firestorm
Fed by corporate greed
Turned their back
To plights of the people
Unknowingly planted a seed

Dollars and death
It is part of the risk
Aghast
When the populous began to resist

You will not accept
It is my right
When personal liberties
Are stolen
Stand up
Fight

Martin Luther had a dream
It seems that is all it was
As drones spy on the citizens of this country
Unknown children
Are killed from skies above

So slowly the resistance grows
The government has become rife with fear
In a panic they know
We cannot be controlled
By the power these vultures hold so dear

As rumblings become louder
The number of disallusioned multiply
Shaping destiny with their own hands

Patriots by the millions
Wait for the anticipated hour
It is freedom we demand
With sweat and blood
Lay our lives down
The resistance
It has begun

Poised to strike
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
The weight of the world
Rested on my shoulders
In six months time
My heart grew ten years older
So here I sit
Prepared to collect
On the madness and pain
In my life you interject

Infiltrating the secret plans
You sought
My words will be that of stumbling blocks
Around which you must maneuver
As I present your personality
True in form
Line by line
Black verse
Red chapter

Do you think people doubt
The truth I speak
Already they have seen you
In violent feathers arrayed
Vengeful pompous and self assured
Overlooked the snake in grass lay

Acts you perpetrated
Then had legally negated
Though the permanent copy
Oh sly one
Will never be deleted
Try as you may with tactic and diversion
Written on your face is obvious *******

Go hide tainted soul
Deep in a hole
Where all monsters of your kind should be
I  wait with unlimited patience
Late into the night
In my hands pen and paper
Ever poised to strike

Shall we play the game
Tammy M Darby Aug 2013
Only not as we played before
Now that we are equal
Give me a chance
To even up the score

Shall we play the game
It was I remember
Your once deepest wish
Intent on gaining
What was stolen from me
On this I will insist

Shall we play the game
The rules have been changed
The winner take all
A challenge I call
The outcome I can assure you
Will not be the same

Victorious face
Or deaths dark palace
Truth or dare
But have great care
I am deadly opponent
Having come into my own
Shall we play the game
