Years passed
beside the ghat,
where mornings wore marigolds,
and love sat beside me
not in words,
but in the way time slowed
when you were near.
Nothing was ever said.
Still, everything was known.
The river moved,
the city prayed,
and in between it all,
your eyes found mine
like it was the most natural thing
in the world.
this wasn’t some grand love it was just there
sitting beside me like it always belonged
no need to say anything
words would’ve ruined it
it lived in silence in glances in the way everything slowed down
the river kept moving people kept praying
but we just sat
and that was enough
maybe we were too scared to speak
maybe silence felt safer
but in that quiet something real existed
and that’s all it ever was
real even if no one ever said it
