Look Inside
st64 Apr 2013
Refrain:
He your pappy, but he dead now
Won't mess with yer head no more
No more.

Cos he dead now, he dead now
He dead now.

1.
Looking in this window. See 'em all warm inside.
Cold wind, him bitin' at my ankles.
Just look at 'em inside, all warm and cosy.

CHORUS:
Maybe gotta look inside
Won't get nothing on the outside
Yeah, gotta look inside
For a little bit o' lurve!

Never gonna turn your back on life.
Gotta take this shot of live
Gotta warm me up inside
'Fore the cold comes to claim me.

Gotta close all lonely spaces
With a little bit of love
So, I's gotta take a look inside.

2.
Don't mean to feel so mean. Just wanna feel part of something
(So) strange, with all 'em polar caps a-meltin',
We still don't have enough love!

3.
Looky here, now traipsin' down this ***** street
Seeking all along the edge of night
Huntin' warmth, hikin' smiles, hawkin' love and sellin' souls
What the hell are we doin' here?

4.
No, you don't always feel it
But there's a stink wind blowing out there
Suckin' at my poor soul, stealin' all my warmth
Yeah, (s)uckin' up my poor soul, takin' all our love!

Repeat refrain.

S T, 23 April 2013
Inspired by movie, 'Precious'.

Deliber8 use of double negation and colloq.

Failing to go within, means going without.

And, if you think your situation is bad.....think again!

Paper soul
st64 Apr 2013
1.
Like a butterfly
You got caught in the net.
Your visions of flight
All twisted in futility.

Refrain:
If only you were not afraid.
No need to have flown away
Oh, just enough to fly (Surrender to the moment)
Fly away into the sun.

2.
A paper soul tears easily
Be free and float away
Guard the final gates
On the way to the Light.

Ouch!

Eyelash on eyeball
Won't go away
Despite rubbing so....
                              Hurts!

There's a broken heart
Upon your threshold,
Lady Spring.....
                        Departs.

Tripping hard
Fall in haste
Stuck in
Your mind's.....
                         Cage.

All encompassing
Heavy, grey sheets
Bar in
Prisoner
Diminishing....
                        Sanity.

She knows not
Perhaps she does, but
Chooses to.....
                         Ignore.

Wanna grow older with me?
Emotional chess
Not a fun......
                     Game!

Mind your sheep
No pastoral welcome awaits
One, two.....
                    three...

S T, 20 April 2013
One, two, three....oh, lemme get to ten, dear heavens.

Verbal lashings....ooh, less said, the better!

Aaahhh, for silence.......
Ok.

Are words just a trap?
Yes, I think they can be :/

The more we say, the less the space....

Letter on a rainy day
st64 Apr 2013
Got a letter on a rainy day
Can't open a wet envelope
So, I wait for it to dry
Don't want the rain to steal away your words.

By the time I read your thoughts
And felt you pour your heart to me
I know now how .....it turns for you
And how you sealed the dried promise with a kiss.

Quickly, I mean to catch it
But the winds shift it away.

Now all I hold twixt my hands
Is this letter on a rainy day.

And it still rains.

S T, 20 April 2013
Yes, and it's raining.....still :)

Well, actually.....yesterday, it was! Lol

1.
Do you know, I'm coming undone
And did you notice, I'm coming round less?
Did you ever see, me hardly at your door
Then, I'm already waiting to leave?

Chorus:
We used to fit so well together
But now, we're drifting far away
We were too busy to see...us
Come undone.

2.
You didn't see my threads come undone
Too busy tallying your brownie points!
You used to be a shining star
Then again, that was so long ago.

3.
Trying to learn what the ox cannot do
And that is to unshackle its heavy load.
Drummed in the guilt, weary and sad
Could never manage it all, had come undone.

4.
Have you any idea of the many times
I've tried to call you, with my courage undone
So, how can one tell when the time is right
To take a chance in life and make that change?

Sometimes, we learn only too well!

Good evening, Sir.
Please come inside.
May I take your jacket?

1.
You've spilled ****** beer on me!
Now, come clean up this freakin' mess you made.
Now you know *how
it feels....

And don't you dare feign!

(Oh, brother! Why couldn't you just
Give her the **** words she wanted to hear, huh?)

2.
Hi, the music is still in the box
Sorry you are so sore.

Please ring the bell
Then you can have the smarter option.
Better take it
For, you can barely survive your own thoughts!

Oh, just never mind.

3.
WAS IN BATH.

Deciphering public signs in Bath.
Do you read?
Depends.

Yes (public signs)

Public signs?
How'd you read my mind?

Relax, only smelt the waft of your dirt
Waiting to colonise other minds.

Get out!

4.
I am that oil you're slipping in
And you won't get a grip on me!

Are you beyond suggestive, or plain crude?

Floating further away on a raft of confusion
Again.
When will it ever end?

5.
Rest peaceful, dear one.

Just remember:
When you go carving out those corners
You so badly want,
Take care not to let tears fall too heavy
When there's no-one to impress
On those deserted highways.

I love playing in the mountains.
Can you dig it?

Perhaps we can continue watering that fragile tree
Which bears such strange yet fabulous fruits...
Yes, let's do....reciprocate generosity.

I bear much to shelter your lost soul
As you step out ...
into the unknown.

No, nobody sees you, shimmering
Behind that waterfall.

6.
Mad about p(o)ets.
It's in my blood...irrevocably.

Come on, answer the thing!
Show me some of that brave.
So powerful, you are.

Give it to me.
The answer, of course!

Ooh, such a wild cat......won't let go.
Can't let it go.
Just can't.

Unlock the claw of judgment
And slide into a gentle cocoon of......

(Swipe!)

7.
Never did that before
But ..... always a first time for everything.

Pop
Pop

The WORLD being your classroom
Don't feel for these things; one nearly killed you.

I guess Champagne is also..... a city.

Onward, soldier!

8.
So, you think you're so clever?
Hard to tell, when you're SO on a roll.
I'm not around to REALLY find out, truth be told.
Don't force to be so forceful.

You crit and spit on Mr Leary
Oh, such dark and dreary vocals
Show some respect, fool!

Oh, getting a headache, the size of a rock
And that chicken voice is killing me!
Half an angel plays dusty games in the sand
Don't blow curses so.

9.
This is really absurd!
Heard half a word, a micro-syllable
Yet enough to gain timbre.

It dawns on me that there may be
A wicked breed of people
Always on the lookout
Who prey on other folk.

Coax them into amity
Allow them to .....even fall in love a little
Then extract the core
By ruthless blackmail.

Ludicrous beyond belief.
Yet, closer to truth!

What's this about, then?
Ok.
Don't wanna spoil the mystery.

10.
There's enough ***** here.
Let's drink!
It's a cold night.

And let's witness all the magic dragons
Waiting to....lift you off.

Bad, bad law of ***** era.

Like in the times of the Crusaders...or shown in cool movie 'Braveheart'.

From - http://uk.answers.yahoo.com

Was 'prima nocta' ever a real law?
In braveheart it was a law decreeing that any english lord may sleep with any common girl, in order to breed out the scots. In a time of war, torture & cruelty, it doesn't seem to be far fetched!

Yes it existed. And unlike what was shown in Braveheart, where it was actually used was the local priest. The local priest, who provided the marriage vows, would claim "prima nocta" to bless the wedding and "deflower" the ****** so the poor husband would not get blood on himself. It would usually happen the night before the wedding!

Yes, even hundreds of years ago priests were using their influence for their own ****** satisfaction and to control the people of his flock.

If true....****** twits!

Love in the coffee

1.
Sweet love
Oh, such sweet love.

2.
Stick into the pincushion of hope
Gentle pins of far-off dreams,
Holding wispy threads of desire
For which time (as a heading) is never enough.

Push down and drown all thought
Which beckon expectation -
And trust to want less.... or nothing;
Thus reduced, we get no fails.

3.
All up to the sky
We cry,
Agonising -
That waiting of footfall.

Then.....
Lovely flow.
Yes, let's dare to increase
Irregular patterns of abdicated pain.
To fulfill what is so held back.

4.
Because of you
Three days can last a lifetime
Full of affection and delicious warmth
Within the bearings of your arms.

Willing spindles now
Turn as they eddy...like happy tidings
All around my head.

Dreamscapes thrive
In dulcet whirls inside our core.

No shipwrecks here,
No abandoning of esperance.

No deserting,
No dereliction of love.

No grief,
No castaways on hopeless coast.

These proffered crumbs on palm
Become sought-after......and precious gifts.

7.
Sweet love garnered over time
Poured slowly.....into sacred cup.
Where phantoms run to hide away
No abode for wicked despair.

Oh, for lovelorn hearts and broken dreams
To find such gladness in a cup
We hold hope, ever bold....so deep in heart
And sink away in woven bliss.

Capsule of infinity.....

8.
Come, let us drink
From our coffee-cup.....

Oh, come......

Delicate motif.

Youngest son (11years) has just returned from school camp.
Three days, two nights.

Upon returning, he seemed so...independent, so distant!
Wow.
We are so happy to see him and he's so moody.

Says he enjoyed it so much!
:)

Guess it's all part of the growing experience.....letting go.
Wish I could remember who wrote that one cool poem (maybe 'twas Sylvia Plath? can't recall now)....of letting go of one's child....?

Guess it wouldn't hurt to also remember the uber-wise words of Khalil Gibran in his beautiful poem, 'On Children'.

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.

The world within, the world without.....

1.

Like laser-specs wide over eyes and ears
Total immersion to it all
Cyber-screen no-one can see
And clips on eyes, for when they knock....

Can travel places, yet not move a toe
Can duel anyone, anyplace to any match
Yet, this contraption'll cost an arm or leg
No matter, not needed....chop off leg and forever p(l)ay!

2.
Without......

This is for when they decide to
Disturb your game, with something lame
You listen with such arch patience
Ramble over, time to go within....and back to.....

Plug in and ....play!

S T, 07 April 2013
Gives new meaning to.....going within
:-/

Just an outrageous outlook on a new product (not yet in existence, don't think so, lol)....where you can step into another realm via this helmet....place it over your head and....off ye go!
(We're getting there, though....in the movies)

The HelmetWor(l)d....
When you lock into this mode....you step into twisted time...so, hours later, you can, for example.....step out again...still a kid, but with a much older mind....

No prizes for guessing which path our future generations will take in this futuristic take on cyber-life.....

There was the industrial revolution at the turn of the 20th century...from manual labour in 1900...to machinery in factories (and the first car and telephone, no?)....to more refined equipment.....then, TV.......to the development of computers in the 1970's....then to the PC hardly two decades later.....and NOW, where are we?

Little rectangular blocks which allow telecommunication.....cells
The world at your fingertips, thanks to globalisation......iPads, notebooks, Net
Blocks of metal, with armchairs in...to transport you......cars, vehicles
A matte block in the living room, to entertain you......TV plus accessories
Tiny pieces of things which can hold several LP's......memory sticks
A circular disk...to watch a whole movie ...DVD's, CD's
Another type of block can watch, record and monitor.....camera
Blocks...and more blocks....

Many, many more strange and wonderful things, blah....

Yet.
Isn't civilisation moving a tad fast, at this rate?

In no other century, has technology out-paced itself as much as in the 20th century....

Not being plaintive, mind...for, benefits do prevail, no question.
(Like, advancements in medical and educational fields)

But at what holistic cost to humanity, as a whole.....when other spheres of life, are neglected?
Such as spiritual....active, organic lifestyles....non-aggressive and considerate decorum.....gratitude for small mercies.....reading (yes, reading! too many kids are not willing participants to good literature)......

What example do we show via our actions to the younger minds, who are reeling yet coping (almost alarmingly, too well!) with the onslaught of (apparently free, yet forced) ideas: frivolous trend-setting and distorted value-shaping, "inflate(able)" role-models, and the like..... through constant media barrage?

This teaches and reinforces the culture of instant gratification.

Are we doing our UTMOST to guard against that sway, ourselves?
Or merely close the eyes...and succumb.....

Maybe there's nothing we can do......just nothing.
Really?

Virtual life is not real.
What then, will reality be? (Reality-type programmes?)

Here's to "going.....within".....good luck to the human race.
We sure do need it!

Jacques is demented, our moves'll be cemented

So, when the hand of age touches the brow and shapes start going....awry....what happens to dedication?

How often do we see ageing family members (aunts, uncles, grandparents) almost 'silenced' by younger generations (kids and grand kids)....?

:-/

"Oh, don't mind him, he's going deaf."

"Whaaaaat, granny?  I can't HEAR you!"

"Do I have to take in granny's tea, Mom? Can't Jenny do it? Granny talks so much and she mumbles to herself...."

"Oh, darling ...why do WE have to look after your parents...you've got many siblings....plus, they're so finicky and have demanding habits....plus.....(    )....."

:-/

Then, when the heavy hand of technology is foisted so upon our beings, how do we expect them to still keep up with all-a that....lol
Talk about demands....!

Their 'rambles' can offer so much in the way of wisdom and grace, if we but took just a little time (and patience) to sift through.....

Not all of this piece deals with said sad element, of course.

Nearly everything I do....has a twist of SOME kind in it....so, look out for it, if ye dare :)

Ha!

Chillax on max smiles, pax-style!

The way the wind blows
st64 Apr 2013
I couldn't know you'd need me then!
Just a human with all frailty and much fault....

Do you think the wind blows differently
When  it passes over leaves and trees?
That it says: "Wait, lemme stop here a bit
And blow on this one leaf  in a special way"

Hardly! Time to get with the manure beneath
And see that sunrays shine on everything
And indiscriminate clouds shimmer on all,
How haphazard, the way the wind blows.

So, don't hang your head and moan so much
Time dawns for you to get over yourself
Don't you see that I'm still here?
Now quit getting your knickers in a knot!

You rant and rave while I pant and slave
Dissect my every move, make me aloof
How can you possibly go counting
And re-arranging all the marbles in my head?

You're so insecure, you make me mad
So exhaustive are your constant jibes
So tiring to soothe your unfounded fears
I'm having to placate you so often of late.

Before it all gets blown out of size
Sit a while in  (h)arboured thought
Confront the dreads which cause disquiet
A trove may wash up....but broken, on your shore.

The wind comes not with tardy tidings
For it isn't the what you say or do
But forsooth, the how which carries weight
Let's not over-whip each other so.

My thoughts may be wanton, wild or reckless
Telling tigs bend on a riotous grind
Yet feckless deeds don't follow suit
Pardon my slightly-misbehaving mind.

Patient and respectful, I remain to be
Just guard against esurient whims
Paucity of faith and clockwork trivial'ties
Will lead us down a road of trials.

Fallen martyrs should not feign, see
The wind makes no pretense. It just blows....
Now, I really couldn't know you'd need me then
'Cause, baby, that's the way the wind blows!

Why?
st64 Apr 2013
Why is it that anyone
Should ever cry in his lifetime?

Can't we all try to be
A part of the human race?

Instead of jumping down
Our loved one's tender throats
And hurting inner feelings
Many have exposed to you?

Oh, can't we just try
To open up our hearts
To the one we admire the most?

Ohhhhhhh......
Of the one we admire the most....

S T, 5 April 13

Only My Valencia
st64 Apr 2013
Och, you and your divine shape
How beautiful you are to me

You drive me wild with want
I simply cannot master you!

You are oft'times hard to get
But nary shall I quit you

Tune my heartstrings up a notch
Fret forever, I try to get it right

You quiver exquisite at my touch
A ravishing delight to my ravenous senses

Would you GIVE a STAR for my attempts
Don't over tease my nerves to distraction!

I slave intense o'er you, day and night
Yes, you're the one with the hold on me

Look at the inevitable shape I'm in
All 'cause-a you and your curvy shape!

The airline broke your sister's neck
Yah mon, I cried, mah Lord. I all but died, ha!

Caught in a quagmire of deep distress
You, my comely cutaway, pegged me up again.

Love to cradle you on my eager lap
My arms around in close embrace

A gentle, organic creature, such as you
I dare not grip you hard at all.

My fingertips so acquainted with your girth
Your rosette rings out my notes with charm.

Enchanting me with deep nuance
Without trying, she pleases so!

The sole bridge 'tween the world and me
My subtle love, only my Valencia.....

The Travelling Man
st64 Apr 2013
The travelling man,
Oh, the travelling man.

1.
Oh, on the journey, he has grown tired
The travelling man is weary of these memories....

The travelling man,
Oh, the travelling man.

Refrain:
The travelling man has folded up his dreams
He keeps them in his pocket with all his other things...
The travelling man,
Oh, the travelling man.

2.
Oh, on the journey, he has grown so tired
The traveling man is carrying all his gems inside.

The travelling man,
Oh, the travelling man.

Bridge:
The rivers he crosses, the mountains he climbs
The roads that he follows, they tell him the ti-i-i-ime!

The travelling man,
Oh, the travelling man.

Refrain 2:
The travelling man has got to travel light
Nobody can guess the longing in his heart.

The travelling man,
Oh, the travelling man.

Written so, so long ago....along the travels of me life...lol

The travelling man is somewhat likened to that olden-times view of that travelling salesman who bundles all his wares in a wagon....

Just a funny ditty, is all :)
It's a song, hence the repetition.

Turntable
st64 Apr 2013
1.
It feels as if we've enjoyed a beautiful, paced love for so long
On this turntable of unity.

Then you quickly and suddenly throw at me
An unpinned grenade of words and demands
While you jump off the LP.

2.
Leaving me spinning on, alone
Wildly out of control.

I jump to the middle
Seemingly-still core of this storm
While it spins ever faster
Rapidly gaining momentum
Caused by your absence!

3.
Confuuuuuuusion....
............................Fear.......
.....................................oh, just horrible!

I am stranded in the middle with this grenade in my hand.

4.
I am frightened.
I am lonely.

So alone, too.
And.....where are you?

5.
Off to gather stones.....
Oh, Joseph can't catch it this time.
Please... too late.

Together
st64 Apr 2013
1.
I used to bathe in the light of your love....
It suffused me with buoyancy.
It taught me to be gentle and kind.
You showed me how to be soft-hearted and giving.
I learnt unselfishness and endurance from you, through our trials against the world.

2.
I rode high
Aloft, on winds
On winds
Of your indulgence in me
Oh, and how we rode.
Together.

3.
We were in poverty.....yet we shared everything
Together.

We were harassed by forces.... yet we stood our ground
Together.

We were inexperienced in life....yet bent with humility
Together.

We were dreamers, you and I......and we strove
Together.

We were dealt untimely blows....but we faced them
Together.

We lost some big stuff along the way....and we cried, babe
Together.

We were blessed with wings....and we flew far (away)
Together.

We were roofless once...yet we took shelter from the cold
Together.

We shared triumphs and buffeted storms of adversity.
Together.

4.
We ate together.
We drank together.
We bathed together.

We shared everything!
Together.

We slept
Together.

We loved each other...
Oh, how we loved each other!

We ...... b-r-e-a-t-h-e-d .....
Together.

The Solitary Player
st64 Apr 2013
In this public park, sits he
Quietly: eternal at solo play.
Gnarled hand moves the pieces, so regal
As he plans fortuitous moves ahead.

No wonder how Time sits and waits
Patient: twisted branches overhead.

Reaching: draping its coolness
Unmoving design, just to offer and give
Wanting nothing in return
Wanting noth-thing in return.

Almost unseen in the park
A broken butterfly of dre-eams.

I join the solitary player
So undeterred: he opens the window
Such a clear, blue sky over me
And pierces right through the heart of me.

Three more pieces fall and leave the board
Wondering: I have grown cold, in a warp.

Blunt words, how they close the door!

Are you alive?
Are you alive?
Are you alive?
He said: Are you alive?

Time rises tall, unleashes Truth wrapped
Are you alive?
Are you alive?

Dashing too quickly through the Now
His green pupils fall into my lap....

And in the cloud-light, a tempest rages
Changing: galloping queen high on the southern wind
And lifts the dying breeze beyond.

Some steps cannot be undone
Choose: the path of the solitary player
Who chases not, yet moves at the speed of night.

Are you alive? ONE of us....is not.

In this public park, sits he
Quietly: eternal at solo play.....

Star Toucher, 01 April 2013
Somewhat (erstwhile) drop-tuned sound, this one....inspired by song, "One of us is dead" by the Earlies.
Fabulous number...may sound a tad avant-garde for many, what with song title and theme....lol

And yet....... 'tis life for ya!
Are we alive...or merely existing?

Leopard-Girl's Treat
st64 Mar 2013
Sliding into the water as I rise
She holds onto me, I stand steady
Feeling the hot, soapy suds slide down me
Her fingers on my legs, gently caressing

I look down to see what my leopard-girl's up to
Through the steam, I feel her roving eyes
Whose slinky slits belie what she intends
Not an inkling do I have ....of what she holds in store.

Then she's beside me....yes, her on bended knee
And with her lips planted carelessly along my belly
I quiver now in the shimmering heat of her arrows
On her haunches, darting lower now to thighs....

I flinch in disbelief as she reaches up, all coy
Does a befuddled thing I would never expect
She.....oh, holy smackerel in a barrel, baby!
What in blazes ARE you doing to me?

My senses fall to pieces, mind in utter disarray
Wordlessly, I try real hard to hold it together
As she scratches lightly, while purring oh-so deep
My feline fantasy coming oh-too-true!

Mumbling sweet-nothings in a haze of desire
Ramming shaft into her mouth, we make a different musical jam
Throttling up all the way to the hilt
Sure ain't nothing so sweet as her takin'-at!

She shifts the rolling gears,  I sway along
Clutching her hair for support, I humbly beg release
I see her ***** her eyes, makes ME ***** her harder
Makes me buck, drives me up that ***** wall!

I am in the driver's seat now, better believe
Feel a touch unsteady, but I hold her reins
I pull her maddeningly tight into me
Such delicious thrills course through my veins.

Pumping on vigorously, I'm-a  gonna spurt
But I know I have to pull the plug a bit
So her face and neck and **** rejoice
As not everyone can swallow what I give.

Ooh! Sweet heaven...now rinse off all-a that love-sap
Gingerly step out, wreathed in smiles
I let her soak on, as she's wont to do
She loves a delayed bath and I do need the time....

No room at all for doubt must be left
For her to earn folded returns for sated favour
She must be famished for some humble pie
How creative shall I prove to be, I wonder....

Swathed in terry cloth, her skin all pink-an-rosy
Oh, will she be just ripe-an-ready for this picking
Deftly will I lead her down, on downy floor
And mete out sweet and fitting penalty.

Growing exceeding restless, she will moan
But I shall will her to her knobby knees
Shame, wouldn't want her to be uncomfy
Give the lass a cushion....there, there.

I will rake my nails delightful 'cross her back
My leopard-girl will taste and be a crumpled mess
She will crave the whips across her ****
To match her lovely, striped, distorted mind!

And.... do I spy the goldfish bowl beside our bed?
Yes, methinks a wicked dip.... will do the trick
And her tower of resistance crumble, it must
Oh yeah, have I got a treat laid out for my pussycat!

Meet the Whisperer....
(Oh, and you will want to, promise :)

1.
He can shape and mould
To aught pleasure he desires.

When he calls them at will
Supple compliance at his command.

Yes, they come like twitching magnets
Real easy beck and call.

Such happy slaves are they
Very few recalcitrant ones.

He twists and trims their sides
Makes them kneel before his want.

He will harness their might
Bend them sweetly to his gratifix.

Perchance, skittish on occasion
Yet they serve their master well.

They can spread to furthest capacity
Turning dried veracity into well-loved fable.

He whips them to submission
Insanely alive, they need birth certificates!

Yet tenderly, he caresses, explores
Renders dramatic echoes in outrageous lore.

2.
They melt like marvelous putty, toffee in deft hands
Makes them caress YOU sensuous, everywhere...

They reach deep, tap in and touch your core
Delight or thrill....or equally meet your mind.

Yes, they can stick you with bruising truth
Move you, or bring you to your knees....

They can furnish context with telling content
And with stunning detail, woo the sox off thee :-p

He articulates every brief encounter
With sage and timeless passion.

Molten liquid drips from his entrancing tip
In gilt carriages headed your way....

When the whisperer appears, best be ready
To receive what he may see fit to flay on you!

If that's too tall an order, it amounts to
Clipped wings, falling sadly short of flight.

Be willing to taste that mesmerising lilt
Indebted you'll be to the lack of crude reality.

Oh, reader...retire not spirit of droll mind
Revel eager in rich spark for riveting trips.

Yes, he is the one, your...
One and only word-whisperer.

No solace in the shades
Don't follow the shadows
Which lurk and lead...

Marionettes and tin soldiers
On pedestals long forgot
A dead child's toy chest
A lion in a tallish glass cage.

Little drummer boy, rusted
Plays agitated drum
To match heart beat of......fear
Of drying sweat ....on upper lip.

Dusty frames on the wall

Handprint on window frame
Dog barks warning.

Spectre's trudge in mud

Silhouette of an axe

One grin vies to meet me, all doe-eyed
If you knew she had a one-tooth denture
I guess you'd smirk away, ungreen ....

But I get the chops I want to eat
Nicely packed pink; no seeping blood
And succulent steaks indulged on me
Saucy supervisor slips me secret smiles.....

Hot and heavy glances jet my way
By sly lady-workers in the back row
When you turn your skeptic back
Regarded by none, but cautious me......

Cute cashier rises on fleshy thighs
Slow she sits; lets her skirt ride high
She eyes me hooded, lashes long
Then, downcast when you join me.....

Can feel the electric tingle from her touch
As I fumble redly, to pay the coins
Deliberate counting, her scent assails
Her hungry heartbeat..... oozing charm.....

You're building up a palace

How great you are
But do they know how loud the echo
In your walls.... is outdone

And make you feel so useful
But yet, your day is dark and grey
And you still feel so blue
Oh, the echo in your soul.

Refrain
Why don't you stop....
Why don't you-ooh stop?
And tend your heart
Oh, feed your mind
And fill up your soul, oh
With beauty that
Cannot..... be seen.

It's easier to see your faith by showing
But then you're stuck in a rut
You'd surely nev-er-er leave
Outdone by the echo in your soul
The echo in your life
The echo in your smile
Oh, the echo-oh.... in your words.

It's harder for you to totally live your truth
For, it's not how you LOOK, but HOW you look
Take off the trappings and reveal
And see who you really are
See what you really are
See what you have become!

You try to sound intelligent yet make no sense
Your stilted humour is outdone

Would you now go spitefully hating the sun
Or go viciously plundering pretty flower beds
Or go crushing underfoot, fall leaves in contempt
Or turn gently  into the fresh fold of snow?

Come, come, dear child, hold out thy hands
Let me gently embrace thy spindly frame
And divest thee of thy onerous cloak
For thou art at journey's end; thy vessel awaits repose.

If I told you which season you'd die in
Would you relent with ease, when the hour falls upon you?
Should you know I'm not as fearsome as most believe
Could you surrender the lent Light I must return?

You already know the answer without knowing
For it is not how you look, but how you look!
You no longer remember, it's been so long
So, I ask it plain: Would you really want to know?

You are not just a spoke on the wheel of Life
Which needs to, as the seasons, turn resolute
Yet you pass through them all, simultaneously
Save, your linear faculties confine your esoteric bridge.

Take joy in aestival airs, the apex of fruition
Springtime soil so easily squandered, bear in mind
Access  introspective glimpses with  hiemal hibernation
Autumnal foliage is but a screen, time to get real!

You cannot have the sunshine without the rain
Nor expect fine blossoms without fair travail
Seek thus the true bounty bedecked in full view
If you had but the seer's eyeless sight, dear guest.

As you travelled from one season to another
Did you live fully, even in between them?
Yes, the tiny labyrinth-passages you overlooked
Time to exact the price now run overdue.

Too attached you are to world and kin
For none of these, can you take with you
But beneficial acts and and good intent
Cosmic trick of genes is cecity delivered.

The one whose life you may regard so worthless
Retains a level which allows his soul to pass through
The eye of a needle, not measured in numbers
Hoist your soul on, tilt your core... I carry you home

So, come, wayworn traveller, hold out thy hands
Let me tenderly close thy brief visit here
And divest thee of thy onerous cloak, prithee
For thou art at journey's end; thy vessel awaits repose.

Wanna buy a painting?

Back Door
st64 Mar 2013
Pedal Verse
O, keeper of the soul, entrusted to your care
Mind where you leave the baby
Cos Mama's gone a-walkin'
O, keeper of the soul, go and mind your back door.

Refrain:
'Cos baby's all a-cryin' , oh no!
And somebody's a-lyin', oh-hoo-oh!
Momma knows not why
Heaven knows how she forgot
To lock that back door in her head!

Chorus:
Momma, go and lock your baby away
Please go and lock your back door
Momma, don't give your baby away
Please go and lock your back door!
'Cos in the doorway stands an ugly beast
Waiting to take him away....

You're guarding the front door, all locked and barreled
Peeping through half-drawn curtains
To keep out, what you know you must face!

Didn't she hear the whispers, behind her prayers, no!
That trusting too easy....would be her downfall
To tempt the hand of Fate?

Don't you know, when you went a-walking
The devils crept into your Light
And stole it away, when you didn't guard that back door!

Pedal Verse
O, keeper of the soul, entrusted to your care
Mind where you leave the baby
Cos Mama's gone a-walkin'
O, keeper of the soul, go and mind your back door.

One of the saddest songs I've ever written.
Penned a few years back.

Behind me
st64 Mar 2013
Walk thee behind me, woman
Cast down thine eyes; thy mind
Deposit thy wealth in my account
Pay a penny at this coast of mine.

Moonlighting is imperative to survive
Veil thy face and hide thy tongue
Do obey my word upon thy ear
Bother not with thoughts at all, *****....

Seek not a soul to assuage thy pain
Fall upon me in eternal gratitude
I grant you the wherewithal for my pleasure
And always behind me, thy feet shall be.

Sad state of affairs in the world we live in...
Hard to believe that we're in 2013 !

Earth's Apple
st64 Mar 2013
I will cut your eyes from you
Place them in the waiting dark
An oubliette prepared just for you
They will grow and let us feed.....

Just a window-silly conundrum....figure it out, if you dare!
Just jokin'.....lol

Chill
st64 Mar 2013
Can I have a crystal-clear hour?
Please give me the gift of warmth...

Why do I feel as if I were two people
Oh, why do I feel as if I were two people?
At once rotten...and then, heaven-high
At once so rotten and then, heaven-hi-igh!

Could we unwrap a little bit of happiness?
Would you pour us a tiny tot of tenderness?

Why do I feel as if I were two people
Oh, why do I feel as if I were two people?
At once rotten...and then, heaven-high
At once so rotten and then, heaven-hi-igh!

Chorus:
Why won't you, and only you....follow me
Why won't you, and only you-ooh...follow love?
Why can't we....yes, only we-eeh follow love?
How is it that you're so sure to be carried along?
That may be your supreme gift, but only part of it.
Just erase the chill, put reality in pure starlight.

Refrain:
Suppose you wouldn't speak with me
So we skirt around issues, so close, can't cope
Can we ever pierce this stubborn membrane of confusion?
And not hesitate to take that steep road together?

Are we too involved ....to see the picture?
Gotta defy that slow chill....
To thaw, to release, to be someone else now.
Free.
Don't wanna know that.
Suspect it's too alone.

Gotta break down that wall, gotta thaw that chill
Really gotta explode into life - E R U P T ! !
Yeah, gotta burn that chill !

Make no mistake:
Miscommunication leads to confusion, when ego is well-fed.

Drop-tuned song written in 2009.

Dab, soak
Scrub out blue.
Who wants
A bleached soul?

Some stains can add character...like a spackeled ceiling yielding pretty patterns for the open mind.
And...there's colour in a rainbow :)

Little moments in-between
st64 Mar 2013
Don't grow so fast, little one
You've so much to see and do
But take your time....your time and enjoy
And love the little moments in-between.

Run and play and s-i-ing with joy
Don't join the queue of  Life too soon
But take your time....your time and enjoy
And love the little moments in-between.

CHORUS
Bedtime songs will end on a day
When you no longer feel the need
But hugs and tugs will always be there
These are the precious moments in-between.

So sail your ships and build your dreams
Paint your pirate face and ri-i-ide your horse
But take your time....your time and enjoy
And love the little moments in-between.

Refrain
Your steps will take where you wanna be
And then, you'll be grown
And all your pictures drawn on the walls are the best treasures
And all your words so very funny
Are safely tucked away......in my heart.

A touch of nostalgia for the beauty of innocence in the eyes of my youngest child, who as a 5-year-old then, used to enjoy organic playtime . . . .
Written in 2007.

Everything must pass.
