Ring of Ruth
st64 Mar 2013
Ring-a-ring-o' Ruth, goin' round and round.....

Ring-a-ring-o' Ruth, goin' round and round

She dare not lose it, but she couldn't keep it
Not anymore
No, not anymore!

For the rings of Ruth
The one she wears, oh!
They keep her in her place
He keeps her mind in place.........

Dare not spill your red treasure on his floor
Oh poor woman, watch your step
Contain yourself...........

Daren't let him in, oh Ruth
No, daren't let him in, uh-oh Ruthie
Why lug around his le-ga-cy in your mind?
Of relentless rings of insanity.....goin' round and round.......

Ring-a-ring-o' Ruth, goin' round and round

Come on home, dear Ruth and flush 'em fears away
Watching you, my Ruth, I can see you from afar
Won't hurt you anymore, won't make you run away
Your heart will sing the Truth that the sands of Time will veil.

So, come on home, dear Ruth
Come home......
Come home!

On Celestial Kites
st64 Mar 2013
Driftin'.........driftin'......driftin'.......

Oh, liftin'........liftin'......lift us

Carryin'.......carryin'.......carry away....

Ah, Jesus .....

Driftin' on this sea
That nobody can see.....

Come.....come with me......
Let us meet that rising tide
Let us drift away.....
On celestial kites.

High...high....higher

Ah, Jesus
Please.....oh, please

Tides away on a kite
Take this filter, baby
You can't cut smoke
So, float along....on celestial kites.

Take it in, **** it in
Wait, wait, not so deep
There, easy does the trick now
Now, we can sail away again....

I will be your exquisite poesy
You can eat me, all you want
Yes, I'm your intense poem, take me
Absorb the tides in me....

You float my boat up in the sky
My beautiful buoy, you are
Hover gentle over me
Look kind into my eyes......

Hang me in the sky
And peg your love on me
Lay me on the moon
And pierce my mind with stars....

Plop me on a nimbus cloud
Nay, I will not fall through
Forsooth, I'll sail on wind and gale
To catch that kite to you!

How I long for that box to open
Oh, do lemme out! I smell the breeze....
I'll die sweetly, perchance
To be on your celestial kite.

Leave me not sodden and sick
Let's fly high on celestial kites
Where angels pray to kiss
These high skies no-one kens.

Ah, Jesus....

Let me not die bereft of hope
To drift away...... with you.....
Ah.......to snag that tail-end ribbon
And hail this ride on your kite!

Lunatic Plea
st64 Mar 2013
Lunatic calling....... Earthling.........

Yes, you...fool..... tiny Earthling!
Wake up, you intractable iota of pulp
I watch you on your little planet, with relish
Playing depraved games on your spiritless  ilk.

I inhabit a moon much larger than your scrap of sand
You already appear so infinitesimally  small
When seen with a magnifier, from this innocuous distance
But now, you're even less than a speck of dust.

Seemingly important, you prance and preen and strut
Your feathers ruffling so easily, I do note
Look how you fret your heartstrings and gnaw away
And I didn't get to say that much....yet!

But fear not: collide with each other, we will not
For conversing amiably with my solar sibling, I've pled
To wield its forte and rein out all magnetic fields
So's we never make acquaintance of regret.

See how bloated and full of yourselves you have all become
Feeding on yourselves, sick with bilious envy
Scurrying like ants, at least THEY know better
For when you reach inside you, there ain't too much of note!

You try aimlessly to prove your dull existence
By crawling all wild-like and filling up the gaps meant for silence
Instead, you leave gruesome tracts of rotating noise
I constantly quake at the revolting  mess on Earth.

Scamper along now, as you are wont to do, brain-scooper
You can hardly hold still a thought in mind
You seek and ferret out answers not meant for your likes
Soon you will sever and break up into little pieces insects love!

You think that what you do, is so gripping
But don't you know we're all varying on the same theme
Roll up the deified curtain and you might find
Everything's an inflated rerun of what passed before.

So, even here on this jaunty moon where I live
I'd rather you not join me in my solitary abode
This lunatic prefers the osculating of kind craters
And communing in the solace of orchestral stones.

You delude yourself with ludicrous ideas
That you have the swell of sultry oceans at your disposal
All tied to deceptive spider-like strings, kited fraudulently in your hand
Hoping to catch that salty surge and drift away.....

My scathing  job perchance, is to spot that pattern of power
And when Eros comes rolling in on that mighty tide
I plan and do my best to make you fail spectacularly
Oh, to climb on and ride that sweet wave for all it's worth!

There is nothing to lose, cos you have nothing!
But your acquisitive nature lets you think you do
Yes, go and ape your latest hobby: quickly run to your house
Check that  no-one has stolen the dust from your gate!

Temporary custodians of that rock, is all you are.
But you......You're absurdly afraid to lose what isn't.
Tiers of neglect show how little you learn of what's around you
Hello, look up.......please. Do you see me? Oh, you do.

Well, well now ! Grand planes and happy steaks to you!
Two swell ticks bestowed on you......for neatness.
But even as I study and decimate your paltry existence
Turning, I'm growing painfully aware of three eyes on me.......

Hey, hang on.....wait, wait, WAIT........help!
Earthling.....please!!
Lunatic calling....... Earthling.........
Somebodyyyyyyy....?

Lunatic calling......dear Earthling.........

Slightly older one by me, written in Jan this year and posted on another site under another alter-name...
Now that I look at the piece, its theme and content, I'm much reminded of that fab film 'Horton hears a who(o?)'.....despite content not quite similar, it could resonate a bit, I think.
Go figure, humans!

Catnap
st64 Mar 2013
Just woke up now
My eyes still puffy
Can't believe this lovely dream
I had of being with you.

I dreamt I took a plane to you
And stole into your house
Crept around in search of you
But heard voices, hid beneath a bed!

Then some granny came into that room
Shuffling in and mumbling low
She lay down on that bed and tried
To wrestle comfort from sagging mattress.

Her nagging complaints drew them all
While I froze in fear, yet so alive
I shut my eyes and waited bated breath
While they tended to the dame.

Then you leaned down and saw me there
I turned, you looked right into frighted deer eyes
You ensconced the granny to another room
All left the room, turned out the lights.

Then fifty minutes later, when all asleep
I felt you pulling out me
All stiff by now, we rubbed a bit abed
And settled into shy embrace.

You kissed my eyes by sullen moon
Raking crescent fingernails over me
Barely hold the delight; no more
Dazzling slivers of light dance in your eyes.

But with time not on our side
We subtly reach that exquisite point
Where I hover twixt your crux
I wait and wait, then gently ****** ....

I yearn for you to move with me, oh!
And when you do, you writhe and twist
Then delicious thrills outwit in surprising bend
As you . . .

(.......)

(Daddy, daddy, please I want some ice-cream!)

Ohhhhh, crap!
This sure is one bedazzled catnap I did not want hijacked.

Silhouette
st64 Mar 2013
I thought I sensed a whiff of former life
Through the tingling of my fingertips
Through the tingling of my fingertips.

Admiring the silhouette of your posture
Letting my eyes linger on your face
Letting my mind drift to your words.

I feel the breeze calling me to greater heights
That my eyes really cannot see
That my ears really cannot hear.

I see the leaves waving me good-bye
To the life that I do not live
To the moments oh, that I let go.

Chorus:
Slowly falls the sombre light when the sun offers
Its adieu to this side of humanity.
And I dare wait no longer
No, I dare waste no longer
I dare wait no longer!
To live...to live....to live.....oh, to live.....

I hear the cadence of arpeggiated chords
Being played on a guitar
Letting it lift me so far away.

And I realise I'd rather be the fool
                    Who dabbles in amusing tales
                    Than the sage who pretends.

I feel the magic being born when you're around
You're weaving butterflies of love
Carrying my silhouette away.

I touch the candles placed within my heart
You're the one lighting up my core
And my wings will not melt away.....

Read You
st64 Mar 2013
If I could read your thoughts
Who knows what I might find
If I could read your thoughts, oh babeah
Who knows what I might find.

Perhaps it's BEST not to read you too much
Perhaps it's best not to READ you too much
Perhaps it's best not to read you too MUCH.

I might just find much more than I expected!

Refrain 1:
Watching you while you sleep
I wonder where you wander
Which paths you tread, where you say you go
And where you REALLY go!

Refrain 2:
I may just find you curled up in a corner
Waiting for the sun to climb up on your shoulder
Checking every move, watching every mo-ove
Escaping the clutches of your own fear!

So, if I could read your thoughts
Who knows what I might find
If I could read you . . . .

The Sword
st64 Mar 2013
It's not the docile who are the most peaceful
It's not the quiet who make the best mothers
And it's not the pilgrims who make the finest believers
For, the blade is not the only part of the sword

Only part of the sword, ooh hoo....

It's not the poets who pose the deepest questions
It's not the enemy that you have to fear
And it's not enough people who live in cleanest conscience
For, the string is not the only part of guitar.

Only part of guitar, ooh hoo....

Refrain:
Beware even the blunt side of the sword
Beware even the blunt side of the sword!
Oh, you know, the blade is not the only part of the sword.
Only part of the sword, ooh hoo....

It's not the animals who are the uncivilised ones
And it's not in the light that you get to know yourself
And it's not up to you to decide the life that I live
For the heart is not the only part of me.

Only part of me......

It's not the well-spoken who speak the most wise words
It's not the sufferers alone who feel the pain and anguish
And it's not the have-it-alls who really have it all
And the Eiffel Tower's not the only thing in Paree.

Only thing in Paree.....

And you know, the blade is not the only part of the sword....
Oh, you know, the blade is not the only part of the sword.

Gramophone Magic
st64 Mar 2013
Gramophone records play
Scratch, play, scratch, play
Soft in the background, edging into me
Slow and easy, gentle waves.

Granny, play me La Wally again
Turning, spinning, round and round
Take me away on audio-pearls
Peace whirls me on a magic dance.

Pappa, hide the ugly monsters
Keep me safe in Noddy and Pat tales
I'd rather be caught in merry tune
Than in webs of yonder folk out there.

Momma, put on Golden Slumbers
"Sleep, pretty darling, do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby"
Yes, I find my way homeward...

Gramps, sing me a Holliday song
The kind that lifts one so high
With Mammy and Pappy blessing all of me
Yes my happiness, I've got me own!

Dear Heaven, open windows and walls
Swirling, flowing its beautiful energy
Sore needed peace and beauty
That no eye can truly see.

Here lies wealthy aunt Dot
Let us pray for her, people
Let us pray for Dorothy Keeper
For here comes the grim reaper.

They called her Marie-Antoinette
Breaking fast on cake and tea
While gorging whole on tamarinds
And tittering her high-squealed laughs.

She wore her sky-scraper heels
With such care, they'd always look new
With no scuff marks, but in the end,
She hurt her back and broke her ankle!

She lived in such a mansion
You'd need an elevator to get to ***
Her gardener had his own butler
While her dogs had weekly pedicures.

Yet when they found her, on her last
She was bedecked in every wealth imaginable
Burdened tables, with rarest delicacies
But not a crumb of mercy on her plate.

You see, the ones she thought valued her
Were simply riding high on tails
They were cloven deep through the ranks
While rank decay sat fat in every corner.

Always one to expect return
She did little to relieve that scorned idea
When nephews begged for bursaries
She'd shoo them gone; let pets sap cream.

Now, upon her mortal hour, her eyes did sink
So deep in sharp despair.
Her ragged breath her kin did hear
And mere perfunctory embrace she felt.

Her sickness begged a touch of care
A little sweetness, a glance of kindness
But pitied eyes swept aghast around
At the splendid array in her mausoleum.

Nephews now grown men stand and look
They shoo not the flies around her mouth
For minds locked ******* heartless past
Fail to discover any worthy pattern.

No one could give what she desired
So they turned all from patient, one by one
To their cosy, quiet homes
Save the little boy, silent by the door.

They knew not that their paltry lesson in humanity
Screamed for mercy; to alter, make good flow
The little boy turned, to change the tide
*** for tat pays not; we should all know that!

Peace and mercy, she but sought now
And in his utter silence, he gave her that
Her eyes pled such deep appeal
His heart bled at their steep reveal.

Most unfortunate turn of events unseen
When the boy now held beneath his eyes
Heavy, darkened rings of suffering
Intense subject of compassion.

Years later, no one would know that
Upon her deathbed, she bequeathed him silent gift:
That, until kin break spited cycle
He would bear the brunt forthwith.

And now, Aunt Dot has died
All return to home and hearth
Yet no redemption till the day is due
And the soul awaits .......ever patient.

The rattling of the cage
st64 Feb 2013
Carrying round this cage of secrets
Heavy on the soul
Feel the last rattle upon me
Vultures fly overhead for cool pickings.

The battle is not with death but me
I feel the battles I've had throughout my life
Battles against me, few for me
Battles against myself.

Then death rolled open its rich tapestry
Oh, and was it red!
As I stepped onto that final rung
I felt the wrestling inside; the rattling of that cage.

Great is pity for carrying over this onerous charge
I ball my fist, rage at the skies
And nought but silence greets my fear
Thus graceful forward; no more to prove.

I've heard that G-d is love...
Let's hope I meet no wrath
I've heard speak of rebirth
Oh, let me unburden afore I leave.

And the rattle of the cage's so loud
Lying here, I try to tell you things
But 'tis of little use, for I am witness to
The last moments of this life . . . .

Eyes feel lead-laden, hands so heavy
Head feels like stone, an appendage
Tongue swells up; cannot speak
And the lights go out inside my head . . . .

Yes, someone turned out the sparkle in my core . . . .

(I think that . . . . no, I think . . . . )

And then . . . . simply,

I am no more . . . .
No more.

( . . . .  )

Alien Welcome
st64 Feb 2013
Alien, welcome art thou not
Depart anon, hence.
Move along now, clear thrown
Thy like's not recognised!

**** saps, with heavy mortal curtain
And suffer their dismal, moral drapery
If only universal context was embraced
So much would harvested rewards be to fit.

But this roundabout lack of courtesy
Somersault delusions fall too cruel
Heavy price exacted; red and spitting moon
So telling on bedraggled souls.

Thy disheveled mind has trod so wrong
Thy mien shod in disrepair; sadly unsaddled
Gorged thus, on fawning ego-laden charges
Thy glutted, overgrown web may implode.

High-handed claims to own such elements
Whose power canst be wield by none!
These petty trips inside the mind
Merely trifling paper boxes rattling on....

Whip away the welcome mat
And shut the door abrupt
Close the windows of the keen spirit
Deaf and blind to soft rain upon the earth....

Cradlesong swopped for craichy flags
Go then, hoist high thy boastful banner
Whilst, all the while, the world will watch
See thee teeter, totter in disgrace.

Yes, the alien has felt the hand of slights
Do spectres then, have not emotions, too?
See the fruits of thy blighted labour:
And this soul now softly tiptoes out....

Bits and Pieces
st64 Feb 2013
1.

Your words drift into my sleep
Just bits and pieces, well
And fragments of you!

Are you close to salty tears
Or are you diving into sweet bliss?

Can you believe how Fate can fool the mind
And are you failing hopelessly to let go?

There must be a secret trail to your heart
Ever caught a rainbow (x3)
In your dreams . . . . tonight?

2.

You  place your flowers in my hand
By now, I'm sure you know my heart is in your hands
Got so many demons, afraid to face 'em all
The only other way, is up (x3)

Come on and rise from sleep
You slumber way too deep
The day offers gems you cannot afford to miss!

Your gems lie dormant in the haven of your mind
Did you catch that whiff of me (x3)
As I stepped into your dreams?              Instr.....

REFRAIN:
Why give just bits and pieces?
How are you coping, now the world is in your face?
Is that you just losin' your mind!
Doesn't mean you have to hide in your heart

This time, there's no strange getting away
'Cos it's old mad destiny-spinner at play!
Try to be happy, don't get caught in unreal thoughts
No escape in weaving webs

Falling down from heaven will take quite a while
'Cos paradise is way, way up!

Saving Grace
st64 Feb 2013
The problem with phantoms, rings so clear
Like fear, they don't just go away
The more is learnt of the world, the smaller it becomes
The less of open space is felt.

The mnemonist lives in a pretty tale
And heads the way off rocky shores
For, oft a fool will come along
And wilful, bash his mind on reef.

Spill then thee, cantankerous spirit
Thy guts of ill-placed rancour
For in puny efforts to uproot
Fresh soil turned is...fresh soil turned.

The more we feed on empty words
The larger grows that aching void
Engulfing all but esurience
Engorged thus, thee will choke.

A mere gesture of goodwill
And extending act of kindness
Will conquer every wicked sentiment
And leave thee broken ... in thy own mess.

So, thy tiresome pictures on the wall, we see
Paint on, dear artist, paint on
These very merry parties, ye assemble
Will ken thy sharp and twisted ire.

Push on, weary soul, try to find thy heart
Thee seest not thy efforts fall in vain,
Fail to latch, for thy error sits too tall
In the absence of saving grace.

So caught up in thyself, art thee
Thine eye too bright upon the prize
That thou did not see thy plot at play
Thy goest yet on; breaching full redemption.

Weave thus thy tale and clothe thy mind
For, in this act, thy mind doth shut
So ill-fitting thy own garish attire
Seams must needs split eventual.

Seeketh truth and truest, thy find's a trove
But sadder yet's the day, indeed
All vouch that in thy heavy plunder
Its value now plain conferred.

Treasure trinkets, happy hoops
Whatever be thy favour's currency
When day is done and swift sea smoothes
Revered will always be...saving grace.

Sits an even greater woman.

This Friday morning's turned to be
Flying on wings with eyes closed.
Are the mocking gods piling on gifts?
Or is this just a ****** trick .... (again)...?

Oh......
What a feeling....inside!
Feeling, oh yeah, I've got to have it again.

Now cruising on a Tuesday evening;
          No need for shades tonight.
No need to hide the eyes; I see you

That feeling again!

Reflections in a glass
st64 Feb 2013
I'll reach that midnight train first
A surreal journey, too uncanny
Wonder how the heck I got here
All *******, yet sought release . . . .

So many passages, so many trails
I follow you down every ambiguous path
Oh dear, will I get lost in this?
In which warren will I find you hiding?

I tie tape across your red mouth
Make you walk an unsteady plank
Across a deep chasm of unknown
Don't slip now or dare scream out!

In glass, reflected in the sun
You look at me and smile oh-so sweet
But refracted light splits up and breaks
Now you think I'm someone else . . . .

Am getting off this Roundabout
Too draining for my psyche
Ah, shoulda figured the universe owes me
A massive kick in the teeth, alas!

You're makin' jam, and I'm so nuts 'bout you
We are sandwiched together, just you and me
But small consolation prize....is all you see
Bicycle has TWO wheels, for a reason!

You want me to stop.
As you stand, hands tied behind your back.
As i stand so so close to you, would you look away . . . .
Would you want me to stop?   Ok. I'll stop . . . . no, please!

Shhh, now now....easy now....hush, baby
Think I'll stuff yer ******* into your mouth
And fire away the ready rockets inside you
Come, baby....please feel what's in my pocket . . . .

See through the window of your soul
Don't fret now, I won't judge at all
Come closer, let me feel your heat
You're giving just what I need right now.

I'm making you feel all kindsa things
Yet you fear to utter what they are
So scared you are, I wonder why
Oi, no running in the hallways here!

Clouds at last, I see you now
Oh, the pretty pictures that you paint
On the waiting canvass of my thoughts
In such bright and vivid repartee.

Can you feel me, baby? Here I am...
Heavy love hanging in the late hours
Feel me now...I know you can feel me
Slide my sword into your sheath . . . .

See you peep still through the window of my mind
Nose pressed against the glass
Lucky to live half a lifetime in an afternoon
We leave soft, grey messages in the sand.

Still wonder how we ever got here
You're so open and so giving
Loved ones often kick a gift horse down
They see not wonders of the gem, all hid.

So, I have a thing I want to know
Now, what is it you really want?
Cos, you were once in love; so deeply fooled
Carried away by reflections in a glass . . . .

No need anymore.....
st64 Feb 2013
Are you there for me?
Are you calling me?
So, are you there for me?
Will you wait for me?

Will you welcome me?
Yes, will you welcome me?
Oh, will you welcome me-ee-ee-EEE?

Will you please guide me to the Light?
Help me emerge.....
Oh, let me not melt away (into darkness)
Shake off the shackles, shake off the shackles!

Chorus:
Let beauty and Light suffuse my being
For I'm really so tired.......of the pain.

No more tears. No more pain.
No need anymore.

No more suffering. No more judgement.
No need anymore (for anything).

No need to worry. No more cold words.
No more swallowing.
No need anymore.

I can see the sun in your eyes
As a beacon to the Lost.
Near the edge of eternal cliff, oh-oh-oh
Be my Lighthouse, be my Lighthouse!    ...repeat chorus

Refrain:
Am I willing this time, to step out?
Am I ready to go all the way-ay?

Have you been helping me?
Oh, have you been helping me-ee-ee-EEE?

Who's gonna hold my hand
When the coldness sets in?
For I'm really so tired.....
Oh, no-o-o-oh!          ......repeat chorus

So, are you there for me?
Are you calling me?
Oh, are you there for me?
Will you wait for me?

Will you welcome me?

Don't you run away;
You're running from your only saviour
Don't you know you're looking into the eyes
Of the only angel on your road?

This is the only time;
You gotta find your light on your way
You're never, no, you're never...
Never gonna find another angel on your road.

Baby, don't you know you're turning away from the Light
You're never gonna have this chance no more
Don't you know you're looking into the eyes
Oh G-d, you gotta move that bad from your door!

Don't you turn away;
Don't you go on spitting
In the face of an angel
Never gonna find another angel in your road

Refrain (spoken):

May the Light shine in any dark corner of your heart
And banish all negative, weak thoughts.

May your steps still be ever-so gentle
On the sometimes tricky path of life.

Seek not always activity to stop the gaps
They are the breathing spaces meant for peace and inner dwelling.

Water your little flowers on the arid plain of Life
For I see them blossom in your eyes.

It's hard to fix a broken road
So step out and carve out a new way.

Feel. Really feel the pain and chase it not.
It is not the foe, just a momentary spot of too-bright light.

The real enemy sits in your midst
Lingers on your fears and blots out your sun.....

It is thought.
Too much of it can **** a man!

Mind you keep the untame drivel well clear of your heart
Lest you wish a choking visit.

Be real with yourself
And be kinder to your spirit.

Battle not too sore with the winds
As your silver light shows you the way to a purer, clearer life.

May the stars of tranquil dawn usher calm
And soothe your battered soul.

Ask not for obstacles to be removed
They are for learning and teaching; progress.

Pray instead for safety, health and dignity
And hang onto that necklace of peace.

True amity is such that having never yet met
We can embrace in kindred spirit.

Have the heart to welcome a stranded soul
And spare anyone lame excuses.

Lessons await you patiently
Neglect none; accept or pay dear.

Take time to discover yet....the REAL you.
Enlightenment is tough work!

Peace to you, dear friend.
