The blinds on my windows are always closed

Hiding the things that I don't want exposed

Parts of my life will be scenes no one knows

So I'll be content to proceed as it goes

As long as I know what I'm doing is right

I have not the need for there to be light

The hands by my face can carry my plight

Up to the sky where it may take flight

Then far and away where words become deeds

It'll  puncture and break my heart 'til it bleeds

The liquid will spill my eternity's seeds

For gardens in worlds I am destined to be

a fire was lit
in the sky today
pieces of ash covered
the clouds as they
swarmed around the sun
it grew so dark
you couldn't see your
hand if you held
it out in front
of you

that's when I realized
just how easy it
was to lose sight
of things

the barber and the bald man
and the ubiquitous philosopher
are travelling in ancient Rome
Here below the tree at night
they rest and take turns to keep an eye
on their luggage
Now it is the turn of the barber to keep watch
and he gets bored
and he takes out his shaving kit
and he gives the sleeping philosopher
a free shave, so now you have two bald men

And now it’s the philosopher’s watch
and he wakes up
and he feels his smooth head
and he muses to himself:
*“That stupid barber!
He has woken up the bald man
instead of waking up the philosopher!”
Poem based on a joke from a collection of jokes from ancient Rome, brought to light by Mary Beard (see her TV series “Meet the Romans")

Today I don't believe
in love at first sight.
It's been replaced by lust;
a look of stalking prey
without any real understanding of "who"
but rather "want."

I must have believed in it
when I met you
millions of years ago--
our eyes synced together,
and for only a passing moment
we must have grokked each other--
forging an early link in the chain
called our timeline
through the fire within our molten third eyes,
binding our spirits together in the metal with lightning
from our hearts
and a hammer of certainty
as we saw each new life
we were to live had us meeting
all over the world, from Denmark to ancient Mexico
to Egypt to The Light past the darkest parts of outer space.

That's the only explanation
that makes sense,
why I don't believe in it today,
because it's already happened ages ago.

there's a web in my head that catches your
thoughts
and wraps them all up in my own

it glows in the dark and it makes me see
spots
whenever i'm feeling alone

as we move along while connecting the
thread
weaving becomes our whole life

we're busied unwrapping each other in
bed
refusing to turn on the light

DieingEmbers
Memories
linger like cigerette smoke
as I inhale them
passively
giving myself over to the images
of you
and I
locked in a kiss
that only tasted of goodbyes
I just hate goodbyes

I've never shared your bed

yet I

share your dreams.
