old story remembered
that warm afternoon while all were playing
relaxing.
the hunted tried not to sleep
there
the tree came down

so dinner waited an hour or so

already cooked went cold

and rubbery

the least of the worry

pleased to see that the flowers

remain standing still in bud

the lights went off then came back on

the words were said and meant

fervently

the forecast is better here today

still bad mid wales I am told

still bad mid wales I am told
we were friends

more than that with promises that faded into silence.

i woke this morning the same
we were friends’

more than that with promises that faded into silence.

i woke this morning the same
tuesday bought eco firelighters
asked for two boxes to last a while

was asked to take them to the till
decided on three instead
fifty each box

to last one hundred and

fifty fires

liking multiples move to a new way of
buying
storing

for eventualities

looked at the boots after
and am giving it thought

i am imagining
blowing leaves

yesterday came the big drop
and the garden came golden

and what I will say to you today

james

is well done for staying
yesterday
fancy dance delivering groceries
down the lane by the church

where the water board left those holes

guarded nicely  with a temporary blue

fence thing

i did not order conversation yet got it anyhow
with a sermon regarding his christianity and

school assembly

i  vaguely argued points yet they were  not noticed

for he had sat  two hours that morning and every morning praying and reading stuff

maybe had not learned to listen

so brought the food delivery indoors
and asked a refund for the substitutes
as to companions
guess you are one
alongside the birds
and the others
maybe we need to check our numbers at the end, see if one or more are missing.          count them carefully, one side then the other.it is all a pattern, that keeps us safely,        moves us
onward.
you know
all neat and patterns with orange
usually
(or the timetable)

some places there is an order
of service
a timetable

it was cold in the night so we
all huddled in like it was a single
bed

when it is double

we make a nest
and warm up

i have a pet fly now

whose name is almond
so I call him marc
as an endearment

yesterday google said he
will live for 0.8 years
this morning she said two weeks

i have not seen him today
perhaps he is still to sleep?

the bear will cry out at 11pm……

sadly
can you clamber
through the rocks
slipping into water
oily boots leaking?

can you stride out
over dewy moors
peat bogged
with no direction?

will you come with me
to these places
my spaces
and make history?

will you sit a while
amid the berried hedges,
sheltering,
remembering?

will we shout at the wind,
running, laughing
knowing
that this is ours
for the taking

or

will you stay home,
stay safe

and bleed?
we can hear  the scratching

when dark comes

comes the scuttlings

flutterings  outside

bats fly round our houses
listen
to the divine air now
we are starting to breath
a little
it is overcast today

a slight breeze from the

window

wide

a slight hint of colour

bleeding from the patch below
grass

holds the sand.

sand holds

the grass.

have you walked the dunes

hollowed path, coconut gorse.

have you found contentment there?

have you sat the sun, black crow bird,

have you closed your eyes at that

within, enjoyed that

without?

the tin hut is still empty.
deep holes,

cut grass and wiping stones.

there is a place.
difference between a geezer and geyser

is vast

as big as the space
to carry logs over

do you see we talk so much
about heating these cold days

and always

life is minimal now
with that and food

though notice we don’t
discuss that so much

i could and
tell you of the plans and preparation
the ordering and menus here

but i don’t do i?

do you?

while i type an email comes in
to advise a delivery date

i cleaned the post box yesterday
up by the gate

no one comes in no more

you know james I always fancied one
of those hot water geysers for the kitchen

over the sink

i used to go to oxford

get off the coach outside the museum

and go in

spend some time there

then go round town a while before

going back

could have stayed in there all day

yet is good to get out in the air

after so long on the bus

it stops there for some hours on the way home from london

where I saw tutankhamun and some miserables not at the same time though

now we can go nowhere really except 5 miles local

did that monday and the car broke down

now i can’t go nowhere again

i miss oxford and visiting museums
most mornings early before you were up or about we crept there with thoughts

to make little things of words, tiny secrets, never written out fully for that won’t do

one morning something crept sideways and we came out to look and what surrounded us

read the words and worried a week

then sadly we crept away….
save old card for drawing on and bending about all messy

charcoal gets everywhere and causes coughing
so have been neater recently and careful
repeat

that

i don’t paint like you

or you

&

need to convince myself
painting it white

found

the former looked cream after thirty years in air

and wondered a while if it was actually cream initially

&

not white?
we shall have more paintings

i can see the marks & lines
pushing through

despite the weather

to spite
the storms
becomes larger as time moves on.
it started early, with greek poetry,
the radio, which played all day.
we look for sand

there is a nice long beach and lovely views out to sea

the sea that is rising
paper covers history.

bent on layers
of time, pretending.
:: paper chase ::

hiding from the refuse collectors

down at the house

in the paper

hideaway

it was his idea and he rammed

it all in the neighbouring bins

where he found room

said he will take the blame

if found out

**

all four crowd round discussing

the amount of waste

the number of stars

while

he hides

below

bent on layers
of time, pretending.
a handy hint is the furthest place,
people like to be near. people may prefer
moving forwards, not looking back too much.

things go round, rebound. it is a lovely
journey, through the mountain range, glory
for writing,

travel journals, while all the while, we think
we travel the other way.

so we did.
storm came yesterday dark and loud  the landscape veiled

awash a while.

black things fade and all is grey.

win or lose hedge your edge

write of parlay.

we chatted over manners and harboured edges. these things … moved the line into a place of rural contemplation.
my goodness

such a thing to see while out
and about

such a high up place to be
were the markers always there
left by some other
wanderer?

on paper
In the studio
that was so precise and quite particular
yesterday lunchtime time this wind blew in
across the mountain

i watched

stood barefoot
heard the thunder

others waited

it came and he saw the lightning hit

not too severe. elsewhere

there was flooding

we had talked about my cousin and
her dresses I was given, to be taken

away by mum who said they did not suit
me

he said I could have some now made for me especially

no

all that was bashed out of me
so I am not that girl no more

all new and unknowing

am not sure of the word innocent

nor like words elderly and the other one

james

i bought a second hand bike yesterday
via facebook marketplace . my hair is

grown

and I don’t care
ah pizza
now there is a thing
to love and so easy to store
in the freezer

or make
like you say
with multitudinous bits
on top

which bend and stretch

on breakfast tv he says
that we should all do that
and that

even getting out of a chair is exercise
or putting on a cardigan

i had pasta with bits of worry
over things I heard

yesterday felt difficult
so i wrote that in my diary

today the plan is toast
inspired by pizzas
drew quietly
my thing

while she also
at her house
drew pastel clouds

i sent photographs
for inspiration yet
continued to draw
while she also
at her house
drew pastel clouds
winter brings
blind mountain soaked,
peat bogged, sulking
in wet cyclists, heaven colour
of gold on grey again.

he clears the leaves each day
from formal lawn
looks up
as i look at him,
a glimpse
outside .

good is in the small things.
.
pat says.
has beautiful spots james

and any embellishment that is nice you
know

I hope you don’t mind
