Following the brightest star
Baby is somewhere

Waves tall as buildings
Smash everything in their path
Many loved ones lost

The nations in the world
that know better
are unable
to stifle the fever
of countries gasping
under the weather

Sunlight through the leaves of trees,
Shining streams of golden rays,
A lovely tropical scene,
Promises of sunlight ways.

Each light stream was dynamic,
Aglow with aspirations,
Like children's smiles of brightness,
Spreading varied emotions.

If sunlight could be bottled,
And shared with everyone,
We will all have sunlight days,
Even times when there are none.

Starting a lie is easy,
Defending it is difficult,
Convincing it is impossible.
So better stick to the truth for always

Even as an innocent child,
I had always liked to believe,    
That the jolly fat man in red,    
Will fly across with gifts to give,    
Making many hopeful children
Very happy on Christmas Eve;  

For on this holy festive night,  
Santa is real and not a lie,  
So children all over the world,  
Will excitedly watch the sky,  
Hoping to see if Santa Claus  
With his reindeer are passing by;  

It's not really such a big deal,  
Even if it's a fairy tale,
Adults also need something too,
For happiness is often frail,  
Santa will always bring a smile,  
Like greeting cards in Christmas mail.

When depressing thoughts strike us,
Pulling us in a downward spiral,
The whirlpool of sadness engulfs all,
And unless we start to fight back,
We will slowly but surely fall.

So we have to switch our minds,
From negative to positive,
Think of happy moments we've had in life,
Focus fully on all the good events,
whether they be one, or three or five;

Think of all the poor out there,
Those without families, without work,
without future, without love,
without  a cent in pocket,
then thank our lucky stars above.

Sunlight fiercely shines
Too bright for many drivers
Sun glasses may help

Birds and insects can fly so well,
Animals and humans cannot,
Flying is a physical act,
Wings for humans Nature forgot.

There is another way to fly
And mental process is the game,
With an abundance of Knowledge,
Our minds can fly all the same.

So bedtime we go off to sleep,
And enter a strange world of mists,
Earthly logic as we know it,
Fades away, no longer exists.

When a night dream gets too heavy,
With the nightmare we cannot fight,
We will wake up with pounding hearts,
Sweating or trembling in the night.

But then there's fleeting beauty too,
Like green gardens and hills so free,
Good memories of long ago,
How dreaming minds would like to see.

So does another world awaits,
When our earthly lives are done,
Do we live again forever,
Or our lives we have but one?

The sky is so blue,
And the clouds are very white,
It won’t rain today.

Cool awakening
Flowers blooming all over
Where are all the birds

Enjoy life to the fullest
Set some thoughts for tomorrow
Then live out the rest today

In summer when the sun burns hotter
Than flames in the fireplace,
Do you feel the blazing heat?

And when winter snow bites colder
Than ice cubes in the fridge,
Do you shiver and turn blue?

Do you feel the heat and cold
Strong and steady that you are,
With your leaves so bright and bold?

I am a gooze,
A perfect watchdog,
Or call me a watchbird
for I don’t fear anyone,
as you have probably heard;

I can run as fast as you,
and bite more painful too,
So if you invade my ground,
Remember you’ve been warned,
I’m fiercer than the hound.

I am trapped in a bowl of glass,
Waiting for days and nights to pass,
Water is not really enough,
My daily life is truly tough,
I can only swim up and down,
Or sideways like a little clown,
Doomed to stay in this bowl am I,
Freedom is only when I die

I am the prettiest of them all.

More colours than the rainbows have I,
With a myriad of designs on my wings,
Four of them for me to flit and fly,
From flowers to flowers and natured things.

I was not born beautiful at dawn,
A crawling caterpillar was my start,
But like ugly duckling and the swan,
I was transformed into a piece of art.

I am the prettiest of them all.

Violent storm and wind
Destroying all in its path
Rooftops flying high

One lovely morning in June at dawn,
A songbird awoke me with his song,
His music filtered into my mind,
Telling me to leave my cares behind.

After breakfast in the yard outside,
The squirrel was trying not to hide,
With the nut that he had found from me,
Left the night before under his tree.

Just two of nature’s simplest creatures,
They formed my morning’s shining features,
Gently did they set myself aglow,
I wondered what other joys would show.

It is plainly annoying,
When thinking is entangled
In the cobwebs of the mind,
For thoughts that are muddled up,
Are so unpleasant too I find.

I am falling all over here and there,  
To my delight I see the people run,  
Everyone is scurrying everywhere,  
And I am really having so much fun.

A lady is frantically searching  
For something to cover her pretty head,  
While a man under a ledge is ducking,  
And a young chap is racing home instead.  

The cars around are switching on their lights,  
And households rush to close their cleaned windows,
When I do perform, these are common sights,
Though many drenched people don’t like my shows;

Because many people try to escape in vain,  
Though I wet everyone, I’m just a playful rain.

I shine my light to warn seafarers,
of all the rocks and reefs around,
And if they don’t heed my warning,
they will for the ocean floor be bound.

It is a long and tiring job,
because I cannot sleep all night,
I’ve got to warn all ships nearby,
to be on guard, hence my flashing light.

A word, a thousand,
Ten thousand words,
Cannot describe
The ailing in the heart,
But if you have felt
Sadness before,
You know the pain
That Sadness can impart.

They all know I will never let them down,
Women love me, and in turn I love them,
I make sure with me they will never frown,
‘cos to all women I’m a precious gem.

Many female hearts melt at sight of me,
And most wives all over adore me too,
Since such a cool seducer I can be,
Most men will select me their brides to woo.

I can really be a large, dazzling stone,
Or maybe just a tiny sparkling bit,
But no matter what form when I’m alone,
I will always be a favourite hit.

For I am a star that is never tame,
So now I tell you, diamond is my name.

It is four in an autumn morning,
I sit in the dark by the window,
Just watching the sleeping world below.

Nearby high-rise flats stand tall and black,
A few corridor lights bristling bright,
Do the trees and bushes sleep at night?

A soothing silence does scent the air,
The lamp-lit roads all quiet and bare,
I'm really happy to sit and stare.

I know for myself just what I need,
Are ten minutes of quiet and peace,
And then my mind will be back at ease.

“Two late” are two fateful words,
Dreadful to the eyes and ears,
For these little simple words,
Erase smiles and start the tears.

Tender creature in the cold,
Snugly small and black and bold,
No warm refuge have you found,
Perched five feet above the ground,
Snowflakes are still floating down,
Do I see you with a frown?
I should have some crumbs for you,
If I’d known I’d see you too,
But If you will come with me,
In a nice warm cage you’ll be.

Right across the sky
Awesome electric sparklers
Don't stand under trees

The jolly fat man
Dressed in red and white
Will be back again
On this festive night
Once again each year,
He’ll be in the air
With his reindeer sleigh
And the children’s fair
Toys and gifts abound
Wrapped in red and green
Waiting by the tree
Happy Christmas scene

Hot summer days here
Light cotton clothing to wear
Ice cream or iced tea

I have so many hobbies,
So much fun with various things,
And have to divide my time,
For the joy each hobby brings;
Maybe I have too many,
I think I'm a hobby nut,
But the problem arises,
I don't know which ones to cut.

Outwards social life
Inwards we are all alone
Balancing the act

There is just as much beauty in silence,
As in the sweetest of sweet sounds,
For in wondrous silence wings the mind,
In mystic spheres without bounds;
Incessant dialogues sprouting from talking vain,
Test the patience of the most patient mind,
Sounds and noises and selfish talk,
The sounds of music they all blind;
So amidst the noise and bustle chaotic,
Of chattering people all around,
I like to every now and then escape,
Into a realm without a sound.

He struggled very hard
To catch up with yesterday
But Time was paying him no heed

He has lost his hours

Time just keeps moving on ahead
It has no patience with those who slack

Looking upwards one sunny day,
I saw white clouds in the sky,
They were bright and cotton soft,
Drifting slowly, just passing by.

The clouds were really graceful,
Changing slightly here and there,
I found them ever so peaceful,
As they sailed along without a care.

Their beauty made me think of you,
I wondered if you were serene,
As the clouds that were gliding by,
My love, I wondered how you’ve been.

Inwards we are all alone
A balancing act

Shining pearl in sky
Dreamers’ and lovers’ delight
Please don’t go away

It is a joy that we can all connect,
Exchanging thoughts in fact and fantasy,
And we can remind the world to react,
With Understanding, Love and Empathy

See how pigeons and parrots walk,
Strutting around without a care,
Just like their fellow humans do.
With one foot here the other there.

If the seers do know and do really see,  
Our lives in stars, our lives to be,  
Then surely we would really like to know,  
Which roads and pathways in life to follow;
But if everything that is true were told,  
And we then know the destinies we hold,
Would we be much happier and more sane,
Or would we find our lives more profane?
Perhaps in life we need some darkness still,  
To balance our minds and hearts and will?
