I love to catch a falling star,
From the heavens up above,
Then I can carry it with me,

I am like a chameleon,

Or a funny limerick,
And then I’m a lengthy ode,
(Your patience I won’t erode),
But whatever form I be,
You can always share with me.

Each of us entered this world

And all worldly knowledge free

I am lost,
and more than that,

I’d love to fly up to the sky,  
Soaring through all the clouds on high,

I’d love to perch on mountain tops,  
And jump and skip and maybe hop,  
From one to two to three or four,
Then flying back again for more.  

I’d love to sit on ocean bed,    
Patting a starfish on its head,  
Playing with pretty mermaids there,  
With their bodies so sweetly bare.  

Why, this would be a witching way,  
To help me through a dreadful day,  
But of course this can never be,  
It’s just another fantasy.

What would almost of us do,  
Without our salt and pepper?  
When we add these two ingredients,  
Our food will taste much better;  
Pepper comes in various colours,  
In corns of black, red, green and white,  
And for certain spicy dishes,  
The combination is just right;  
With salt, a teaspoon is enough,  
Eating without salt is better,  
Because if you use too much salt,  
Your pressure will go haywire;  
So even though salt and pepper
Will enhance almost all your food,    
Be sure to use moderation,  
Or you will end up not so good.

When I was six or seven or eight,  
I loved to see full moon shining bright,  
Sometimes went to sleep a bit too late,  
Staying up watching its brilliant light .  

Then I wondered often how it was,    
Wherever I went,  it I could see,  
Finally I  knew that was because,  
The moon was always following me.

Across the ocean
The storm of birds were flying
In strict formation

History seems to clearly show,
Mankind does not want to know,
How to live in peace with grace,
That's not for the human race

Humans like to show their might,
Always looking for a fight,
So kindness is for the weak,
And niceties are for the meek

They're not happy all is well,
In wartime more arms they sell,
Spreading love we must not heed,
Making war is what we need

If God did make Earth and Man
He must have erred somewhere then

We had said our last goodbye
A final kiss and a double sigh
Sadly I watched you board your plane
With trembling heart amidst clutching pain -

Transfixed was I until you were gone
Parting tears were never so forlorn.

I watched a lovely cloud,
drifting merrily on,
small, cotton white was he,
as though he was just born;
Then, of all the horrors,
a ******* cloud appeared,
this ugly ate my friend,
which promptly disappeared!
Poor Whitey was now gone,
Blacky finished my friend
whom I knew just did not
deserve that brutal end;
So why must beauty end?
Why cannot it endure?
Must beauty always fade,
even when it’s pure?

In life we weave through forests dark,
We blunder through mazes blind,
Stumbling through blackness for the Light,
That we hope one day we’ll find.

Not so wonderful the world today
For madness has surely come to stay

Goodness no longer is in the store
Evil slowly kicked it out the door

Intelligence seems so hard to find
Stupidity often close behind

World wars linger always on the brink
Closer than what we would want to think

No matter what all religions teach
Love and Peace are always out of reach

Humility is not weakness
There is no shame to be humble
It’s just a sign of acceptance

"I first!" is becoming a frequent cry
From the moment we learnt to first love "I"

The self concept though basically sound
When overused, selfishness will abound

Egoism extreme comes to the fore
And consideration is shown the door

If we let this state of mind to persist  
Others' well-being will cease to exist

So be aware of other feelings too
Then "I" will be wiser on what to do

The frog learnt to lop

And both of them also learnt to jog

I woke up in the middle of the night,  
Lay motionless and wondered was I right,  
That my name I had heard you faintly call,

Little Monkey was most perplexed that day,
He just didn't know what to think or say,

So to Elder Monkey he went to find,
To get an answer for his dubious mind;

He asked "Does God live way up in the Sky,
Would he really meet me if I should die?"

"And does the Devil really live Below,
Waiting for me, my final day to show?"

Elder Monkey carefully did confide,
"You won't meet them at the end of your ride!!"

"So God and Devil don't exist at all?
That means that all our beliefs just fall?"

"They do exist!"  the Elder made it clear,
"Both of them reside inside you my dear!!!"

Little Monkey was even more confused,
"I think Elder's lost his marbles!" he mused.

If we can meet just once a year,
We can both share a single tear,
I’ll be happy if you are near,
Even if it’s just once a year.

When we look at things,  
With only one eye,  
We get half a picture,  
Which means we see a lie;  

For to see the truth,  
We will need both eyes,  
Then the view is complete,  
And then the falsehood dies;  

The problem we have,  
Though we have two eyes.  
Most times we use just one,  
And so we live with lies.

When we were young till we were nine,
Hours, minutes, seconds were fine,
The days were simply sped away,
With toys and games and friends to play;
From morn till dusk, early till late,
No cares, no worries about fate,
Life was simple, not good or bad,
Just sometimes happy, sometimes sad;
Then childish thoughts did slowly fade,
As new discoveries were made,
And Innocence did go away,
When Adulthood came by to stay.

The nights when heavens switch on the stars,
Lighting up the blackness way up there,
This celestial beauty is for us,
To fully enjoy no matter where;
Stars rekindle our thoughts of love,
Spreading silent serenity plus,
So stop and relax and look above,

It’s easy to just follow and just do,  
Every action, everything without a clue  
As to the how things work, as to the why,  
Using brains occasionally by and by.  

From here misunderstandings will start,  
When from reason we carelessly depart,  
Anger, jealousy, ill-feelings will abound,

Lots of patience we should not abuse,  
Thinking, reasoning well, we must always use,

My friends are Seconds, we are sixty in all,  
Moving slightly fast, we are precise though small,  
Ticking away steadily without a stop,  
We do not run or jump or skip or hop;  

And when the sixty seconds have been done,  
I take over and continue the run,  
I am Minute and have fifty nine friends too,  
We are also precise and don’t stick like glue;  

Then when their sixty minutes have gone past,  
I take over, I am Hour and the last;  
We all work in harmony in perfect rhyme,  
Seconds, Minutes and Hours are our time.

Sea shells washed ashore,
Hermit *****, shellfish, starfish,
Typical seaside.

She was emotionally hurt
but she kept it all inside herself
looking at her, one could never tell
unless one manages to see
those silent teardrops that fell

She was extremely timid
and kept all her emotions hidden
all the sadness within

pitifully freed of all her fears

she had no one to confide in
had not even one close friend

Night life waking up

Bright and early up with the birds,
Still chirping, singing in the trees,
Do insects wake or go to sleep,
Like small mosquitoes, flies and bees?

The stars and moon have retired,
Probably half hour ago,
While the waking sun is shining,
Starting off with a warmly glow.

Each day awakes with innocence,
And a beauty healthy and sound,
A shame that often these won’t last,
Throughout ‘til nightfall comes around.

Winging into the sunset sky,
Into the clouds above the sea,
To a distant island somewhere,
The birds know where they have to be.

A daily sunset instinct flight,
In flocks of twelve or more,
The next day they will be back,
To their home on Malaccan shore.

Sea is blue and calm
Much fun to frolic and swim
Waves are behaving

Morals keep changing
Immorality seems cool
Satan is happy

Out from the trees he came in sight,
Weaving lightly and blinking bright,
I watched it drawing ever near,
A tiny phantom of the night,
And the thought wandered in my mind,
With its tiny lantern did it find,
Whatever it was searching for,
Before it joined its ghostly kind?
