"Not Mine"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
This blue Honda Civic is surely not mine,
It's too perfect, you may find.
Driven home by my heartbroken mother,
Always knowing, we have each other.
My Honda's parked on the street,
Not a spec of dust and perfectly neat.
Glancing at such a car every day,
With a quick nod, then walking away.
Why is this beauty for me,
What have  I done to deserve thee?
It speaks my name now,
I wonder how.
It's awaiting for me,
To be painlessly set free.

"Beating Heart"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
The time spent thinking of you,
Is endless every day,
You stole my heart rapidly,
I feel grateful, to this day.
Occupying myself works best,
When I'm struggling alone,
You are my whole life now,
You have gracefully shown.
My love for you is as high as the sun,
As clear as the sea,
As visible as light,
As close as we can be.
You help me to see,
That we are a whole,
That I'm not broken,
That we're in control.
I keep feeling love for you,
Where our fate lies ahead,
I'm bound to fall hard for you,
I might tell it to you instead.
Our love exceeds a thousand miles,
Romantic as a glass of wine,
As we learn and laugh endlessly,
Is when I see us shine.
Sweet o' valentine,
I love you ever more,
Sweet o' valentine,
Look at us soar.
Beyond the barbed wire and gate,
I see a shadow of only two,
Inseperable and complete,
For Zach, I truly love you.
I can tell you just how I feel,
Not only from a work of art,
Not just through words,
But through my beating heart.

"Writers Block"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
Agitated am I,
As to why I cannot express my heart,
I've met my limitation,
As just a start.
I sat here for hours,
Staring at the blank sheet of paper,
Having unwanted thoughts in my head,
Hearing nothing but the water vapor.
What happened to my abilities,
Where I was never stressed and had no fear,
I over think everything now,
Take a good look at me; I'm shear.
I've lost my self-confidence,
Always critisize my work,
Why can't I write to perfection?
I must be going beserk!
Empty and lost,
With nothing to say,
I have a writer's block,
To this day.

"God bless the broken road,
That led me straight to you."
God bless life and its gift,
That helped me find you.
God bless each and every day,
That helped me start anew.
God bless the broken heart,
That saw faith and warmth in you.

"Pain"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
I don't know why I feel pain,
I must be going completely insane.
For I worry day and night,
Nothing ever seems right.
Life is not fair at all,
When have I ever stood tall?
I push myself too hard,
My past has me scarred.
I wish I lived in the present,
Where it is mostly pleasant.
I have too much anxiety and fear,
I shed a tear.
Sixteen is a stressful age,
I sit and wait to turn this page.

"True Love"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
The burning feeling of love inside,
Beating hearts that collide.
My heart races here to show,
We're inseperable to and fro.
My tiny hand rests in yours,
As we wander through the open doors.
Jogging endlessly on the golden sand,
Exploring happily across the land.
Gazing into each others eyes,
Feeling our love, increase in size.
Holding each other tightly,
Whispering slightly.
Our lips attached,
The perfect match.
Chemistry building up,
Like a playful, little pup.
The deepest emotions two share,
In which nothing can compare.
I'm so blessed to have found love,
From paradise, up above.
So sacred to treasure,
Endless pleasure.
Desirable qualities in each of us,
Never a complain, nor a fuss.
A heart lifted as high as the sun,
Laughing, socializing, and having fun.
Love is the most valuable thing,
Such unique quality, it does bring.
Nothing will ever surpas the beauty of love,
I've found my destiny, from above.

"The Singing Breeze"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
As a gush of wind passes by me,
I hear a high-pitch sound,
I envision blurriness,
From all around.
I feel a gentle touch,
From the almighty winds' power,
I'm alone with the wind,
As high as a tower.
The singing breeze captures my attention,
As my curiosity rises,
I'm at ease with the wind,
Of various shapes, and sizes.
I see a shadow of the wind,
Feel the winds' breath on my skin,
I'm relaxed and content,
From my conscious within.

"Adhere to me"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
He kisses me with passion,
Lucious lips gently pressing mine,
There is a long moment of silence,
As both of us shine.
O, how graceful he is,
Every smile, every kiss,
I cherish every moment together,
Everything about you, I do miss.
Two hearts beating as one,
A rush of excitement passes by me,
Always thinking of you,
Young, wild, and free.

"Life Truly"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
Life provokes obstacles,
That is encountered by many,
Pursuing such unique careers,
Cost a fortune; not a penny.
Life is vivacious,
Filled of laughter set by younger ones,
The memorable days of homework,
Yes, there was tons!
Life tells of a novel,
In which humanity grows,
Successful or not,
God always knows.
Being able to succeed in a future life,
Is not folly, yet a gift,
Taking chances and risking pure life,
Would be a great shift.
Life presumes to be adventurous,
Even if it doesn't go a certain way,
It will try Its absolute best,
Throughout life people will play.

"4 Unwanted roses"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
Two ordinary flowers,
On the cold, dark floor,
One, two, three,
Wait...there's four.
Old and rusty,
But once beautiful and red,
They chose other flowers,
These soon to be dead.
But these roses were on a floor,
A designed and fancy floor,
These floors were very rich,
While these roses were sadly poor.
Until one day,
A young girl had bought these worthless flowers,
Which she put in a vase of water under the sunlight,
They'd last for hours.

"Rabbit vs. the Hare"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
I thought I spotted a rabbit,
As white as could be,
But was a mistake,
Can't you see?
It had large grey ears,
And a soft, cuddly tail,
To my surprise,
It was really pale.
He had short front paws,
And long hind legs,
He must be brought home,
He pleases, he begs!
Oh, so very smart,
Yet a pinch wise,
But I never knew here,
A hare lies.
When I charged straight to him,
He ran away,
I felt guily,
And wanted him to stay.
But...all means; I had my chance,
And I blew it,
I don't like hares now,
I have no wit.

"Arachne and Minerva"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
Once there was a girl,
Who bragged all day,
She told almost everybody,
To stay, stay, stay.
Minerva played a trick,
So sneaky and clever,
She knew that Arachne,
Would never find out, never.
Arachne was surprised,
Her eyes filled with fear,
She knew danger,
Was near, near, near.
They had a contest,
With yarn and threads,
They knew who'd win,
Maybe Minerva instead.
She learned a lesson.
She'd never forget,
And maybe now,
She would regret.

"She doesn't know"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
She doesn't know writing is my life,
She doesn't know I want to become a writer,
She doesn't know I'm trying the best I can,
She doesn't know I'm a fighter.
She doesn't know I love to sing,
She doesn't know how I feel,
She doesn't know who I am,
She doesn't know this is real.
She doesn't know I'm always tired,
She doesn't know when I have a dreadful day,
She doesn't know Who I am,
She will never know if I'm okay.

Shari Forman Feb 2013
She's sneeky and clever,
Who fools us all,
Tearing up our floorboards and socks,
But so dainty and small.
She begs for a dropping,
I' m not to give her a thing,
She becomes jubilant and untamed,
Hiding under our beds and chewing up our wires,
Chaos, she does bring.
Driving us up the wall,
Barking at innocent men,
She is superior above us all,
She's Sandy, till the the end.

Shari Forman Feb 2013
I heard a cry from deep inside,
That told me I had regret,
The warmest person on this earth,
And the most considerate yet.
All those times she called,
I assumed her to be relentless and slow,
I had an unrealistic view on the one I loved,
She had a stroke, little did I know.
I cannot change the past,
But I can say now I'm sorry and I love you,
I'm sure you are shining down on me from heaven,
And that much is true.

"The Fastideous Gentleman"
Shari Forman Feb 2013
A very wealthy and handsome man,
Owned a mansion and a bay,
But was not at all married,
Which baffled him every day.
He was as proper as a royal prince,
And was the utmost handsomest guy in town,
Hopefully he will get the chance in his life,
To simply smile and not frown.
When one same ordinary day,
The wealthy man took a long walk into town,
He then further noticed a small party,
With several women in the same color gown.
It was the brightest and sunniest day,
And the perfect day to be outside,
But the man was dressed for winter,
So he decided to step aside.
He waited until the music stopped,
Then did he roam his way into the crowd,
He had to close his ears,
For the people were very loud.
The man was very timid and sensitive,
And barely spoke to anyone,
He'd sit near his beautiful bay,
Which was supposed to be his fun.
When the man spotted an attractive young woman,
Who looked tall and friendly,
He made his way over to her,
Boy how nervous was he!
The wealthy man introduced himself,
And told interesting facts about him,
The girl looked fascinated,
As it was starting to get dim.
The couragous gentleman went on one knee,
And asked, "Will you marry me?"
The girl looked baffled and terrified,
As she ran to spring free.
Such a beautiful girl,
Who he really didn't deserve,
So he went to find another gal,
The next looked superb!
She was average in size and looked gorgous,
But when she glanced at the hopeless man,
She didn't care for him,
And rather joined in on the song, "Can-Can."
When the wealthy an suddenly gave up,
He sat by himself in the corner,
To him it felt so hot outside,
That is felt like a sauna!
At that very moment,
A gorgous girl walks up to him,
The poor man felt so hot right now,
That his whole body felt limb.
When the woman introduced herself,
The man did as well,
This woman was the prettiest out of all th girls,
That, he could surely tell.
After a long discussion,
The hopeful man bent down on one knee,
And asked the big question, "Will you marry me?"
The woman gracefully accepted,
As they both left with a smile,
But there's one thing the wealthy man now knew,
That all this waiting, was definitely worth while.

What is omnipotent,
Carries the greatest works of art,
Pertaining to the beauty of success,
Set in one's heart.
The ability to portray emotions,
Adjacent to pure love and glory,
Lies deeper than any work of art,
As it arises with a story.
Aesthetic represents life and visions,
Such a powerful piece of art,
Should be cherished always,
And never to part.

Shari Forman Jan 2013
The glance at a frightening insect,
Who's by far grotesque to me,
For I cannot bear the sight of one,
This is pure horror to see.
A measily spider, dangeling from my ceiling,
I'm terrified and appauled by them,
Can't a measily spider see?
This gives me quite the heart attack,
One, two, or many more,
I'm far from passive,
I'm helpless forever more.

Through sorrow and pain,
Through the warmth grasp of your hand,
My darling, you sustain.
I'm hiding something intimate,
Something no one should know,
You'll trust me, my beloved girl,
In any way, we shall go.
You're in my arms,
Always and forever,
I'm holding you my girl,
You are beyond wise and clever.
The deep concern I feel,
When you're not with me,
I'm irrational and upset,
I'm as depressed as can be.
I love you my dear,
We'll always be together,
Even though you may not be here now,
You're in my arms forever.

"Things I cannot forget"
Shari Forman Jan 2013
The moment I was told I had talent,
Lit up my eyes so fast,
That feeling of self-belief,
I knew my talent would last.
The rush of hitting a tennis ball,
With topspin or slice,
I was becoming something indescribable,
It felt more than nice.
This sport means the absolute world to me,
If not mistaken, it's my life,
I'll do whatever it will take,
Dedication, consistency, and strife.
Shari Forman Jan 2013
As the golden sun sets,
My eyes tear and sparkle with joy,
The burning torture of the day; gone,
And now the white light to enjoy.
I sit at the stroke of midnight,
Eyeing beautiful stars up in the night sky,
Watching is a privelage,
Yet not to fly.
Yet my ears follow another sound,
A grey cloud is forming,
Yet my eyes visualize something epic,
There becomes greyness for storming!
Stars faded one by one,
Some vanished in a row,
For this was no joke,
Nor any show!
The most widely known star burned the cloud,
For whatever stars were left, cheered,
The night seemed so proud.

As we're wrapped inside a yellow quilt,
We're embedded together,
With no motin, no tilt.
The beauty of this scene,
I imagined it like this,
With his arms wrapped around me,
As he leans in for a kiss.
The maturity in him,
Makes me wonder,
How perfect he is,
Deep down under.
We're inseperable for a start,
For he's my best friend,
My close companion,
I love him to the end.

"Not Myself"
Shari Forman Jan 2013
I am surely not an artist,
For I can't paint or draw,
Nor am I a singer,
I sound far from raw.
Geometry is not fun to me,
For I dislike angels and sides,
I will never be a professional surfer,
My fear of high waves and tides.
I will never be a chef,
I can't cook a meal,
I can't jazz dance,
I hate the color teal.
I am no acrobat,
I never took drugs,
I've never smoked or drank,
Or put salt on slugs.
I don't like a big breakfast,
I loathe being sick,
I dislike unfriendly people,
I watch every clock-tic.
I don't like reading long novels,
Nor comprehending difficult ones,
I hate poetry that doesn't rhyme,
It puts great presuure on me; tons.
I am not greedy.
I am not self-centered,
Success id far from what I feel,
This is anxiety, I've now entered.
This is not me,
This will never be me,
I am myself and nothing more,
I am different, as you see.

"Heartless"
Shari Forman Jan 2013
It was my father who left me,
To discover a place of his own,
Lonely and disheartened I felt,
For a place called, "unknown."
Baffled was I,
As to why he suddenly left me,
I trembled alone in fear,
Was I a goner soon to be?
Where have my hopes gone?
Withered away to stone,
Leaving nothing but the past,
For a place called, "unknown."
Why do I feel resentment,
My father had a horrifying tone,
Had left me heartbroken,
For a place called, "unknown."
My heart beats like thunder,
As I shiver to the bone,
My father ruined me,
For a place called, "unknown."
Where will I go from here?
Too much my father had shown,
A martyr my father will always be,
For a place called, "unknown."

— The End —
