And thanks once more to the earth
for a clear morning
allowing me to bid goodbye to
the mountains

It is as if a have breathed one
great deep breath
 Jul 2013 Sam Hawkins

Thought I'd start off with a clean slate today
Completely clear my mind
Sit in a darkened room
Give it a little time

See what there is inside of me
Digging deep what I will find
Grab a hold the poet soul
Spend the extra dime

I found I like it better here
Without the fuddle of mankind
Just me, the darkness, and my mind
In the deeper meaning of the rhyme
Faces, faces lost in the crowd
Planes coming in and planes going out
With the hustle and bustle a soul can get lost
If I talk to this person, how much time will it cost?
Not a thing will I loose but only I'll gain
Look at her soul, she could be going through pain
Maybe she is, maybe she's not
But could I spare a minute?
A lifetime's been bought.
Sometimes we don't know what people could be going through, and stopping to talk to them could change there day.
a turtledove being
attacked by wild
beasts doesn't wait
to cry

out for help
or for You
nor do I
all I ask

for is You
to fight for
me since I
seem to be

too weak; You
and I have
been here before;
I have not

forgotten
Your
kindnesses
I stand on the edge.
I hang in the gap.
I am the mist coughed up
by the ocean.

offered forth from the water,
I am suspended droplets
drifting through the valley.
Hanging between the lushes
of mountain sides

I mingle with the leaves
and they may receive me.
I caress the ancient stones,
this colossus that holds life.
I stick to its edge
give it a shimmer
but cannot break its seal.

I am the mist which
emerged from the sea.
I hang in the gap.
I stand on the edge.
