Steady little Indian
Your ear close to the ground
You can hear them coming closer
The echoing, heavy sound

Steady little Soldier
your boots filled with blood
Your gun on your shoulder
and your face covered in mud

It’s okay little brother
Your crying has subsided
& The day is almost over

Sun to Moon
Moon to Sun
What was said
cannot be undone.

I'll hold you up and lift you
Like the wind blows the willow tree
My tears will fall and cover you
Like the rain washing the earth
I'll carry your burden on my shoulders
& wither under the pressure
Too tired to walk, too shameful to fall
Bury me, bury me
Like the dearly departed

I can see the joy leave your eyes
As reality set in and you knew
-you knew what today is
You knew what tomorrow will bring
You saw into the future
& it was bleak
You stared blankly ahead
& said
-this is not where I want to be
Rosè Sep 2013
The air is on 60º
& you're freezing me out
A pool of tears collect on my pillow
And I wipe them away
-like it would get rid
Of this draft on my face
Tears frozen in place

I lit a fire
In the middle of the forest
& watched the trees burn to the ground
I walked a lot, pondered in thought
Of the things I saw around
My heart's an open wound
Too fresh to close and heal
The rage came out
And opened its mouth
And fire came out to ****

When I think about it
My throat swells up
And I can feel my stomach lurch into my chest
My body's caving in
And tears fall slowly from my face
Wiping them away
I remember
This is not how you're supppsed to feel
Rosè Aug 2013
I found myself, lying hoplessly on the couch
Waiting for you to come back in
Don't you see
If you leave
Who will be my only friend?
