I see her in the morning.
I think of her in the night.
And all the hours in between,
She enslaves my very sight.

Her shiny black hair
Is like silky waves of night.
Her deep blue eyes
Are portals of mysterious light.

Her smile is magnificent.
Her teeth are always glimmering.
Her body is phenomenal.
Her laughter is always ringing.

She has a corner office.
I have a corner store.
I await the moment every morning
When she opens up my door.

She is perfect
In every single way.
All she has to do
Is everything I say.

She's married with children.
I'm single with none.
She seems so intense,
But maybe she's the one.

She'll be here soon.
What do I do?
I've absolutely, positively
Fallen for Sue!

I'm a fool!
I've fallen into a trap.
Help me find my way.
Can you lend me a map?

She is intoxicating.
She's out of her mind.
She follows me home
And tries to be kind.

She rearranges my furniture.
She decorates my house.
She adores this little puppy
That looks like a mouse.

She whispers and gossips
And whistles and prances.
She sends everyone into
Their own kind of trances.

She tasted better
Than Blueberry wine.
But she sure did crush
This little heart of mine.

I wish my friends would stop dying,
Stop crying
Stop giving up
They throw their hands up
I wish I could save you all
But with that weight on my shoulders... I might fall

She sometimes likes to sit underneath bridges and watch rivers flow
Pretending she's a queen and the worlds all her own
Like she has enough love to share with the world
And everyone would fall in love with this little girl

But there comes a time when little girls have to grow up
Her momma told her playing under bridges is for girls who are young
And her dreams of being loved were stolen from her
Depression pulled the young girl under

From time to time she sits under a new bridge to watch rivers flow
Pretending she's married and feeling like Gold
Until reality breaks through and reminds her she's all alone
And the sinking feeling spreads all through her bones

She builds a new bridge for each one that is broken
But it isn't enough to forget the words that have already been spoken
Sooner or later she's out of bridge designs
And before she jumps she pretends just one more time

you walk to the bridge,
biting the skin on your fingers,
tremulous hands,
long brown hair whisking in the wind.

the way you walk,
is filled with determination;
emotionless to the core,
stride after stride,
no thoughts in where you're going
for there is no turning back.

the time is now,
no reason to back out.
you've made it this far;
all that is left
is to cease the deed.

place your bag on the floor,
step up on the railing,
cold wind blowing around,
spread your wings far and wide;
and get ready to fly.

no more cares in the world,
the wind picks up speed,
hair whipping your face;
nothing matters this day
for there is only one way.

no jumping involved,
you let gravity do it all
you are flying now,
but unlike a bird;
for birds don't usually go down.

oh darling,
your words changed my perspective;
they added a new dimension
to my boring daily life.

your words
send me to a whole new place;
a place i have yet to name.

your words
mended my broken heart,
gave me hope when i was on the edge;
i was was so near to jumping -
abandoning this obstacle of life.

your words,
they give me infinite bliss;
a feeling i fear of losing.

oh darling,
you're my favorite poet;
one that i will never forget,
i will remember your words for eternity -
for they lead me through my somber days,
like a firefly in the evening sky.

a boy like you
deserves more
than a girl like me

i no longer know
if i wish to drown myself
in love,
*****,
or the sea.
