marry someone who lets you have a bite of their brownie ,
even when you said you weren’t hungry .
marry someone who laughs at the same things you do .
marry someone who kisses your nose on a cold day .
marry someone who you can watch disney movies with .
marry someone who is proud of you whether you earn $5 a week or $5,000 a week .
marry someone who you can tell everything to . marry someone who isn’t afraid or embarrassed to hold your hand in
public .
marry someone who you can spend the day in Ikea with without feeling stressed .
marry someone who wraps you up inside their coat in the winter .
marry someone who accepts your fears and phobias .
marry someone who gives you butterflies every time you hear their key in the door .
marry someone who you don’t always have to shave your legs for .
marry someone who accepts you all day every day , even when you don’t look or feel your best .
marry someone who puts three sugars in your tea , despite telling them
“ just the two ” .
marry someone who doesn’t judge you when you eat your body weight in cookies .
marry someone who doesn’t make you want to check your phone, because you know they will reply .
marry someone who waits with you to get on the train .
marry someone who understands that you need to be alone sometimes .
marry someone who gets on well with your parents and isn’t uptight about family events .
marry someone who calms you down when you get mad about stupid stuff , and never tells you it’s “ only stupid stuff ” .
marry someone who makes you want to be a better person .
marry someone who makes you laugh .
marry someone who you love .
marry your soulmate , your lover ,
your best friend .

I can never linger
it isn't written in my genes or encoded in my blood
in fact I simmer like a deep-brewing fire
only the wind on my cheeks
& the scenery whizzing by can stifle my flames
whimsical indecisive fickle
no commas can contain me
I am this metaphor & that simile
I am those paradoxical adjectives & I don't create irony
I am the irony
free spirit & old soul I have been labeled both
whatever you like to call it I can never linger
a blessing or burden either way
the loveliest blooms always depart from the fields the fastest
you have never seen a fairy because they carry on & on
carry on so quickly
I am the soul of your lost father & I am the nostalgia of your dead mother
I am all things mystical & majestic
the weeping willow tree by the lake & the lightning that smites it
the strength you misplaced is found deep within me
wherever I go love will seek me out & find me
but I can never be contained & I can never linger
I only wish to "burn, burn, burn like roman candles across the night"
so please
do not ask me to stay
I have a lot to say about this poem.
The reference made is from On The Road by Jack Kerouac.
This is like many poems inside a poem.
Definitely one of the weirdest things I've written.
I might tweak it but I kind of like it too

This one is for the time you told me I was a *****.
This one is for the time you called me worthless.
This one is for the time we fought about your ex-girlfriend.
This one is for the time I wouldn't call you back..
This one is for the time you apologized to me.
This one is for the time you called me beautiful when I didn't deserve it.
This one is for the time you told me to love myself when I couldn't.
This one is for the time you told me you love me.
The scars are my story.
You made me feel unwanted.
You made me hate myself.
You tried to save me.
You made it worse.
And now each night I drown in the blood of a thousand regrets.
And each day I live with the memories of our past
Running down my arms
Like broken rivers.
They tell us to accept the skin we're in,
But how can I accept what society makes feel like a sin?
Gross to be bigger than a size one or two,
Does that sound realistic? Not to me, to you?
Purged souls on countless carbs of animosity,
The taste of self hate rich and buttery.
Magazines don't help, if only looks could ****,
Girls are starving and dying, I promise you not just for the thrill.
Hated and disgusted by their very own reflection,
Don't try and stop them it's a battle you'll never win.
Only bones can make them happy,
White porcelain devils flush their dignity gladly.
True selves lost with every vigorous flush,
The feeling so high, their own personal rush.
With every single flush they soon fade away,
Ask me how I know,
I was once that way.

1.
lament none
home run
free
silent happiness.

carry you onward
take me further

forget superfluities
guerdon intensifies
only
you.

2.
please
look at me
see what lies there
gaze beyond my eyes
it has been there all along

seal this non-promise with a kiss
or stretch hell out on a bleak bank
the likes darkness couldn't feel
nor light shield itself from.

3.
there can truly be only you
along with only me
being only us
only now
love
be
..
.

you turn away*
the way the earth turns so the sun can't fix it's heated stare
my look merely rolls off, unabsorbed
why do you rotate?
my gaze is not meant to dry your oceans
or burn your forests
I simply wish to light your mornings
illuminate your mountains
and warm your valleys
