IT TAKES TWO
Pleasure is mine for loving you,
Changing my mind to your love
Is a pain I have found hard to bear,

For the drops of your loving
Power makes my in-born loving
Character comes out,

It transforms my heart from loving
To most loved or best ecstasy in love,
I drink the sea for your love,

I taste the fruit of death for your love,
I close my eyes to some
Symbols for your love,

I keep quiet to things
I hear for your love,
I sit at one place and watch

The stars in the sky just to
Imagine how you will fall in
My track as I journey through life,

I keep close to you for your affections,
I sleep for your talks,
I dream for your understanding,

For you rekindle in me
The joy of togetherness,
Indeed, learning and teaching love
Is a subject that takes two.

ENDLESS LOVE
I have loved you in so many ways,
In crowds or all alone,
When you were sitting beside me and
When you were away from my arms,

I imagined others watching and enjoying
Your glamour in the street with pride,
I have watched the sea waves and loved you,
I have sat quietly and loved you

And counting minutes till chartered
Hours where I stand and loved you,
And the questions I always wanted to asked,
The answer I learnt at love’s expense,

I have promised myself,
I will not ask where you have been,
I will only say hello and hope loving you
Has showed me how to accept myself,

Meeting you is a relief for
My several sever spinal pain,
What goes round comes round indeed,

How young and eloquent,
Gentle and humble,
Caring and loving,
Respectful and understanding,

For you have all the qualities that
Qualifies To a higher quantum
Quoted for a quality of a loving lady,

Keep me by your side as a chick,
For we are the march of two beach birds,
A pure couple of sparrows in a nest

I have loved you and
I cannot remain an island forever,
Show me your secret loving symbols,

For the understanding of your
Affectionate shadow next to you,
And I will continue to love.

SEKINA, FIRE IN MY HEART
Behold, the dawn has put
Out the glaring stars,
And the sun’s ray has
Dried the pious ****-frost
On the invulnerable grass,

Yet, no creature
Knows what is in the
Middle of this ****** forest,

Oh yes, the road lies between
Two marvelous hedges,
So your shadow cannot miss it,

Hedges full of passions
Encompassing the firmament with
Blessings that have never been shed,

Sekina, when the sun
Sank into the sea
And the silent night arose,

My future accepted that
Indeed, our eternal love
Cannot be forbidden,

For the more that flame
Is recklessly covered up,
The hotter it burns,

My ever-flowing living waters,
The unquestionable eternal
Flames of fire in my heart,

Set me as a seal
Upon thy prim heart,
For thou have indeed
Become a hostage to my fortune,
So, let me thy hand For this journey.

ADINKRA
The branches of Africa
Are gnashing their teeth
In liberation and sorrow,
Whiles the Kwahu mountains
Have frown over the horizon,

Oh yes, the brave has
No right to winnow
Such an ultimately subpoena,
For the sumptuous
Sunbeam has sullied
The pride of Nkroful,

Is that the great man
Resting in a lonely palace?
Dreaming of darkness
And infinite vacuum?
Is there no ointment
To take this sting of
Cotton out of the mind?

Is that the proud son of Africa
With his heart still
Dreaming in tears of blood?
Kwame indeed had no
Cure for his sick pride,
Nor the taste of
His glorious suffering,

Oh no, the sun has
Stretched her scorching
Face over his eyelids,
That everyone who
Passes by him shall
Hiss and shake his fist,

His clasp are now held
Together on his abdomen,
Never again shall the
Straying lighting of the
Hills and valleys weep
Over the stratum of Africa,

Osagyefo is no more
For the right arm
Of Fathiah is broken,
But the Gods
Shall not rest,
Until Africans see the light.

THE BEAUTY THAT SHINES
Thou art beautiful, Kabutuwaa,
Thou art very beautiful indeed,
See how thy skin colour
Portrays the true beauty of Mama Africa,

Thou art the darkness that gave birth
To light on the day of creation,
Thy humble character inspires
Thy divinely given blackness,

She is the beauty that every precious
Hook seeks to lay the hands on,
Yes, she is the greatest beauty
That nature has ever invested in,

She is the only moon that brightens
The boiling sun in my village,
Obaahemaa is in fact the barrier
Between tomorrow and the down,

Even though she is at the
Other side of the moon,
The drummer shall continue
Beating in deep silence,

If she hears the beating
Of his heart and she is willing,
She shall surely run towards home,

Let all the market women
Come along with their logbooks,
And enjoy the flooding fire,

Let the drums and the rich
Resonant voices Of Okyeman
Put their hands and throats to play,

Alert the slave master
Of this montage occasion,
For the true taste of the

Sacred calico has grown dim
And the echoes of the drizzling rain
Have erupted the volcanic mountains,

Her name is Yaa Kabutuwaa,
Born on a beautiful Thursday morning,
Offer my darling with the seasonal cloth

In its rich natural taste and sight,
For nature has nothing to gain
Except romantic visions and dreams,

Look up!
There she stands on her slender legs
In the middle of the blazing sun,
Spreading her lovely wings over my loneliness,

Call her by her name!
Sit her down!
Sing to her the secret bee’s song of love
To cool down her thirsty heart,

But if my true shining beauty
Will agree, give her a place in
My heart to sleep this night.

ODOMANKOMA
King of the Universe, True of Voice,
The chief of Africa, great of strength,
Lord of reverence, who made all earth,
More eminent of nature than any Gods,
Over whose beauty and light the Gods rejoice,

To whom praise is given in the hearts of men,
Almighty One, with thy grace and love
I was conceived and brought forth in thy
Own true image and called me Kabutu,

I beseech thee to use thy Spirit of Peace
To create a beauty like unto Asaase Yaa
And like unto a man called a woman,
With thy mercies, I pray thee to serve
Each man with this same Spirit of Peace.

ECHOES OF LOVE
Darling, thy sweet voice echoes
In my heart, and I cannot stop loving you,
For the soft touch of thy hands
Protects me and ceases my loneliness,

Darling, thy presence on my side
At the very hour I needed
Thee watered our love eternally,

Please, do not hide thy loving care
Away from my lonely heart,
For thou have all I need to live
And prove myself right for
Knowing a darling person thou art,

Thou make my face bright when
I am down depress and nowhere to turn,
Indeed thou change my sadness into ecstasy,
For thou stop whatever thou do to attend
To me because of thy lovely care,

I am here thinking and searching
Through my mind to know how
The Gods brought thee into my life,

For thou push me high up to
Where He has prepared for us all,
I cannot imagine loosing thee,
I will keep on loving you.

EXIGENCES OF AGING
My little children,
Listen to the words of wisdom
Pouring out of the eighty calabashes,
And let the ancestors
Propose a toast over
My untimely strife,

I can only pretend
To appreciate taste and sight
In this present nature of mine,
For it is only the madman who
Goes to sleep when his roof is on fire,
But the bat can only
Think of himself as a bird,

Hmm, an eagle does not go to
The market place unless there
Is something new to find,
See how I have become
A spectacle to the sparrows
And the infants calling
Me a witch in the market places,

How sweet is youth,
Yet it flies from us,
Be happy now,
If you wish to be happy,
For one cannot be sure of tomorrow
And old age is not a curse,
But a stage in life.

THE DECIET OF LOVE
Love swells
And portrays
Her voice
Whenever it smells
And betrays
Her choice,

To established a place
For the serpent of love
Is to finish a pace
To repent for prove,

Otherwise, nothing
Can be said right
Without something
Being paid bright,

I think I have found
A love’s stone
But no, it is the sound
Of a dove’s tone,

I need to give
Up this race of grieve
So I can survive
This grace of love,

Indeed, love is not clear
Like a clean glass
But its dead is dear
Like green grass.

EXIGENCIES OF LIFE
When life words strayed,
Everything for my life was betrayed,
Nothing good for the monkeys,
Neither any door for the keys,

See how swiftly my life has grown
Causing my skin to brown,
To the gods, it is the blessing of rain,
To me, it is the blessing of pain,

When life was questionable,
Everything for life was edible,
Nothing good to ****,
Neither any way to the hill,

Yes, the hill that covers my pillows,
Sending my soul to the gallows,
Hmm, life has gone completely gaga,
Indeed, my life is a complete saga.

EXIGENCIES OF YOUTH
I see green,
Yes, it is fresh,
I can see growth,
Oh, it is dying,

See how hope has
Disguised the volumes
Of books written
About my unpredictable life,

The fight is still being fought,
But the river has no other source,
Unfortunately, it is not changing into the
Lion that is hard, but getting the lion’s tail,

Now I know, that
This fiendish gale of life
Seeks to enslave my soul,
I even made an attempt
To dig down the fire
Of failure with discontent,

O youth! The strength of it,
The faith of it,
The risk of it,
The imagination of it,
All seeks to defy
The long-lasting establishment,

No, never sell your life
For the sake of love,
For it is writing the sad history
Of your unpredictable future
Growth shall indeed
Dry your bones and veins.

MAGIC OF LOVE
Though the hill of life decencies
Into the terror of the valley of death,
Thy river must still flow into my sea,
Though thy yoke of love is full of magic,

Causing the pleasure of thy love to shine,
Thy eyes and mine must still dance in rhythm,
Indeed, the honey behind the magic of love is our
Strong wings that must still fly above the heavens.

ALL THE ANSWERS
Sometimes nature has it all
Other times reality has it all
But this time my dear has it all,
I love you mother Africa
For you have all the answers,

Sometimes the elders have it all
Other times the Gods have it all
But this time my princess has it all,
I need you mother Africa
For you know all the answers,

Sometimes you have it all
Other times I have it all
But this time they have it all,
I see you mother Africa
For you give all the answers.
