BLACK CONSCIOUSNESS
I found I was inexperience the very day
I experienced my first experience,
So I decided to do wrong because
I was engaged in over righteousness,

I have sown a particular seed of truth
In the strange garden which I planted,
The seed must be allowed to germinate
And grow until it is ready for harvest,

It shall bear only one fruit,
The fruit shall contain only one seed,
This seed shall be the seed of crime,
Oh, some crimes brings much
Experience in liberty and justice,

We have been liberated in the
Mist of their inhumane crimes against us,
I wonder who really invented the name Africa,
They think we are poor and needy
But we are rich with excess
Untapped human and natural resources,
We are not lost
But have found the Black Star
Which is the compass for all mankind,

We never went to them,
They came to us,
They came to exploit us by cheating,
Deceiving and bringing confusion among us,
Oh, that old serpent, the devil,

They began colonizing us,
But with ***** on our side
None sustained into the twenty-first century,
They claim to be superior to the black man,
But this is just the beginning,

Within forty-years, we were able
To gain our independence
First with the spirit of Ghana
And finally crushed apartheid triumphantly,

We gave them a hospitable atmosphere
When they first arrived on our shores
As orphans and beggars,
Not knowing, they were looters and murderers,

They pride themselves as the introducers of
The Christian faith in the land of the Blacks,
They have no idea about Makeda, the Queen of Sheba,
Who later marriage King Solomon, the wise king,
No idea about the Ethiopian ******
Who was baptized by Philip in the name of Jesus,
No idea about Ras Kabutu Munhunutapa,
Was Jesus Christ not nursed in the Land of Blacks?

They realized the beauty in the
Black woman and had the gut
To propose to mother Africa (Sudan),
Upon refusal, they ***** and brutalized
Some of the daughters of mother Africa,
But the Almighty shall restore the excellence
And pride of Africa,
Like the excellence of the Garden of Eden,

Oh, what a devil with an attitude,
None of them speaks the truth,
They are full of injustice and deception,

Yes, Ethiopia is our home
And the Land of the Pharaohs is our pride,
We do not only boast in our ancient glory,
But we have a future glory of an Africa,
Which a future Mentuhotep II shall unite us with,
Yes, a future glory of black superiority,
Which a future Ras Kabutu will make us behold,

We are all pilgrims walking on the same
Road with different destinations,
Yet they are afraid of a united African force,
They shall surely give an account to Him
Who is ready to judge the living and the dead,

They sold us as slaves in order to
Steal our pride, depopulate and demoralize us,
So that, they can use their secondary
Intelligence to exploit our resources,
But they will not succeed for long,
For we know their ways of deception,
Yes, we are the prisoners of hope,
Very soon, we shall be like Jewels of a crown
Lifted like a banner over the earth and space,

Is it normal to be normal?
Oh, see how the Balance weighs down
The opportunist and the Group of Eight,
Inequalities have taking over the
Impartiality and fairness of man,
Who got away with the last hit?
The answer is always in the naive one
Who has purposed in his heart not to answer,

For they built themselves towers,
Heaped up our silver and diamond like dust,
And our gold and timber
Like the mire of the streets,
Behold, the Almighty will cast them out,
He will destroy their powers in the sea,
And they will be devoured by fire,
For we are the children of Tweaduampon,
The ones made from the richest part of the earth
The cradle of mankind,
The true descendant of Ras Kabutu,

We are the Africans
We are the survivors,
We seek a Heavenly Nation,

We keep our faith in the African Personality,
We keep our eyes on the road of African Unity,
Keep your head up on the Black star,
Keep on keeping on in the Black mentality,
Without defying the establishment!

OPPRESSION
The rain-Gods should
Give this greenhorn a reason
To why pain could
Appear this green-corn season,

Which baboon will make a sound
If the rich moon cannot be found?
Sometimes we play all day
Making sure that the clay
Does not decay,

But now our rock had bend
And who will lock and mend,
Ah, send the Gods a plea,
And it will end the cods a sea,

For the fear of might is oppression
Whiles the tear of night of derision
But nothing inside will look so strong
If something outside looks so wrong

Is this ice of life so conscious?
Maybe the price of life is so precious,
Men of Kush!
Have a pen for push

And never harm the Gods arm,
For their charm grows your farm,
The debtors have broken the palm-vine
Causing the ancestors to drink the palmwine
Indeed, what life sees as pain,
Must be given to death to explain.

PARADOX
Born like a kid,
Believed like a child,
Thought like a philosopher,
Depressed like a prisoner,

Felt like a sinner,
Hated like a lawyer,
Ate like a veterinarian,
Lied like a politician,

Read like a historian,
Saw like a physician,
Slept like a pharmacist,
Smelt like a scientist,

Spoke like a priest,
Heard like an economist,
Loved like a counselor,
Tasted like a rich bachelor,

Worked like a tool,
Cheated like a fool,
Walked like a diplomat,
And died like a cat.
The divine walkway
To the river-side
Has began to warp in
Singing and whooping with love,
But I was in the palace
To witness the examination,

See how the evening sky
Has suffered with crimson
And delight, awaiting
The gorgeous joy of the dawn,
How can the nations
Begin this monthly journey
With a broken arm?

The old gossip proclaimed that
Mother Africa caused the
*** to burst into loud wails
Early on that faithful morning,
Whiles the companions took
No pain to grace the occasion,

Oh gosh, is that the time?
Is that an absolute
Gospel of the gory spectacle?
Indeed, we need to offer
Sacrifices of praise
To propitiate the gods,

Let the gracious protocol begin!
Mothers, please cover
That beautiful black skin
With that sunblock sheabutter cream,
And cover that gracious hips
With that piece of kente cloth,

My dear, please
Taste the sacred food
And swallow the egg also,
For sitting on a golden stool
Which stands on a precious mat,
Has become good news for the ancestors,

Now perceive this,
When the moonlight slipped
Past the curled edges
Of the shades of nature, and
The children faces gleamed,

I knew I had
Fallen victim to the sensual
Lures and snares of the
Twin towers protruding
From your glorious chest,

You have indeed kindled
The eternal flame within me,
My black eternal beauty,
You are truly
A fine African woman.

A NEW DAY IS BORN
Listen! Can you hear?
Behold! Can you see?
Feel! Can you experience
The change from a female
To a fruitful African mother?

Oh yes, she took the concoction
This morning to prove her innocence,
Yes, she had to go through this
Ordeal to satisfy her aggressive head,
But this passionate love was
According the will of Tweaduampon,

Hmm, the moon has appeared
Nine times over the thirsty land
Of Africa since morning,
Can you behold Asaase Yaa
And Isis watching with their
Eyes of favor and fertility?
For Osiris, the Beautiful Being, can even
Testify the May-rain matching
Endlessly over the wings of Timbuktu,

Ah look! The noon is fast approaching
With excess wailing and fear,
For the Military Hospital
Is burning and bleeding with
The fire of eternal expectations,
Indeed, with success comes greed,
And the gods of blacks is not to ****,

Push daughter, push!
Push the pain of this Tuesday joy
Out of your vulnerable soul,
For the Marshall bells are still
Ringing to receive this divine offer,
Hear the sweet voice of the dawn
Energizing the anointed male baby
Out of the nine-mouth old darkness,

Today, a new day is born,
Today, a revolutionary is born,
Today, the gods have given birth,
Today, Kabutu is born,
Today, the history of Africa has given birth,
In fact, magical protection and life
Were behind this gods and his
Divine Essence was glorified with power.

KOFORIDUA FLOWERS
How beautiful is the
Rose flower of my heart,
She is more beautiful
Than the flowers in Aburi,

How beautiful is the
Mother of my heart,
She is a blessing to her family,
How beautiful is her

Dusky looking bark,
Her brave stands for justice
Like Yaa Asantewaa,
How beautiful are my lover’s lips,
Just like that of Frimpomaa,

How beautiful is the lady
Whose beauty Brightens
My heart like her words,
She flourishes like
Koforidua flowers,

How beautiful is the lady whose
Love can control my queer destiny,
She is like unto Nyarkowaa,

How beautiful is the convex hips of the
Lady who can make me go crazy,
She is like unto Adwoba,

How beautiful is the lady who can
Make me disobey my creator,
She is like unto Makeda,
How beautiful is the lady who has

The power to make me loose hope,
She is like unto Daehafi,
How beautiful is my blessed lover,
She is highly favoured like unto Sekina,

How beautiful is the queen of my heart,
She is reliable like unto Cleopatra,
How beautiful is my lover who causes

The will of the Gods to come to pass,
She is like unto the Timbuktu woman,
How beautiful is my lover,
She has faith like unto seed,

How beautiful is my butterfly,
Her love is stronger than tens
Of thousands of chariot
Descending from mountain Afajato,

How beautiful is the
Keeper of my heart,
She has the power to
Break my heart like Nefertiti,

How beautiful is the
Keeper of my love,
She is a mother of all

Generation like Ma’at,
How beautiful is my lover,
She is faithful like the air,

How beautiful my lover is,
She tastes like salt in my mouth,
How beautiful is my lover,

Her face turns me
On like a ripe mango,
How beautiful is my lover,

She has the power to make
Me do things against my will
Just like the seasonal rainfall,

How beautiful is my lover,
The secret to her love
And affection is still unknown,

How beautiful is my lover,
Her desires are subject to her lover’s
Whims and caprices,

How beautiful is my lover,
She sees her lover as
The head of the house,

How beautiful is my lover,
How glories are her
Feet upon my lap,

How beautiful is my lover,
She is as clean as the cat,
How beautiful is my lover,

She is as important
To me as myself,
How beautiful my lover is,
She is the pride of my life,

How beautiful is my lover,
She is as wise as the aunt,
How beautiful is my lover,

She is the guardian of my love,
How beautiful is my lover,
She has honour and respect like Isis,

How beautiful is Kabutuwaa,
She is all that I can boast of,
How beautiful and

Sweet is Obaahemaa,
She is the only lady
I was born to love,
For she is my
Koforidua flowers indeed.

EFUA SUTHERLAND
The rainy season is at
The door once again,
And loneliness has
Brought me a new pillow,
But who is to defend
My repugnant soul?
Can it be the Gods?

Hear this! The rain has
Began knocking at my
Slammer door gradually,
Oh no, it is knocking
And wailing so heavily,
With his icy voice
Of storm and cold
Arresting my hearty dreams,
But I will retch at his smell
And hurry for my handkerchief,

Where is my lantern?
May be, the native doctor
Has the answer to the
Cylindrical jar containing
Her eternal juniper organs,
Indeed, it is my misfortune
To go about with the priest,
For even the child of
The priest even dies at noon,

Ah, I thought she was
Vigilant and ever-ready
To make the debtors
Chew the palm kernels,
But she became the
Portion of the exterior of
The *** that skin can cover,

I have lost my heaven,
Oh no, I have lost the
One whose neck is like a
Bunch of small-fingered plantain,
I have lost the whetstone
On which I sharpen
My thirsty sword to
Perform deeds of valour,

Let the Gods weep!
Let the ancestors wail!
Let the people of Africa,
Give me condolence of
The talking drums,
For their child is gone,
The wise woman who cut
Her thumb in order to get
A wise husband is dead,

Mother, the Okro full of
Seeds of children and literature,
Efua Sutherland, the queen,
The toad likes water, but not
When the water is boiling,
Send me something
When someone is coming,
Efua Sutherland, the queen,
You and I exchange gift.

KUMASI, THE TREE CITY
Kumasi, the Tree City,
The Kingdom City with a divine eagle
Standing bravely on a mighty stick,
The unquestionable love that embraces
The soul of the arch enemy,
The tradition that swallows
The ancient courage and modern pride,

Kumasi, the Tree City,
The mighty city that lies under
The flying wings of the
Beautiful Okumanin tree,
The golden city of the Western Sudan
Planted by the arm of the Almighty,
You are truly the dwelling
Abode of unity and majesty,

Kumasi, the Tree City,
The echoes of your ancestral spirits
Do not sleep nor slumber
You that provides a comfortable
Seat for the grandson of
The almighty Krobea Asante Kotoko,
The modern pride of the great
Ancient mother of Yaa Asantewaa,

Kumasi, the Tree City,
The great son of the vulture,
Otomfuo Osei Tutu, may not
Appreciate your present
State of modernization,
For you have surrounded
T he Golden Stool with
Carelessness and filth,
Your crime rate has swept
Away the memories of
The great Okomfo Anokye,

Kumasi, the Tree City,
Oh, the inhabitance under the protective
And motherly wings of the great tree,
The Ayoko kingship deserves a clean land,
This great city must regain
Her serene and inviting sweet-scented
Greeny and stable environment,
For mother Ghana has always
Pride herself in your glory and dignity,

Kumasi, the Tree City,
The precious eye of Asanteman,
Never deny your former glory,
Oh, the pride of West Africa
You still have what it takes
To be the Garden City of West Africa,
You are Oseikrom indeed,
Okumaninase, the capital city of Kwaman,
The heart of the Republic of Ghana.

MENOPAUSE
The rejuvenated year has finally shed
It’s twinkling leaf on my greenness,
Oh yes, my years have tasted the darkest
Side of the seasonal stainless moon,
Causing juvenile mango trees to bath
The malleable aurora dews,

This is my wind howling fiercely in the dark
And sobbing streams of tattoo tears,
My dreams have even caused my essence
To conjure the wordless spells of the ancestress,
Lest the dreary thunderstorm of thirst
Swims over my horrendous firmament,

Give a voice to the air!
For there is not a breath of air stirring
At my munitions of peace,
I can even feel the dry pulse
And the heartbeat of the naked Gods
Piercing the calm natural day,

Oh no, the Sun-Gods has drunk the
Stream behind my coloured walls,
Causing the stretch marks on the
Back of Mother Earth to bleach,
You dare ask Tweaduampon Kwame
To weep on your scorching pepper,
For the friendship of the pregnant clouds
Was indeed for the raining season only.

THE BLACK STAR
The foretold episode is ripe
And the childless dawn is now flowering,
The awesome parrots of Africa
Have began swimming in the heavens

And singing the verses of the paraded bees,
For the warrior of South Africa
Has ultimately impregnated the Godsbaa
Without violating her divine virginity,

The black star arouse from Ghana,
Journeyed gorgeously through Zimbabwe
And has decisively descended on South Africa,
Bu this is just the divine seed

Yet to grow into a full black African moon,
For the black star of the black man
Is the religious light yet to radiate on
The colourless naivete of mankind,

Ah, the premise behind this
Exhibition makes a perfect sense,
We did begin it all,
Pilgrimage through it all
And shall end it all,

For the wreckage of
Humanity flies with time
And the megapower status
Of the African is a fact of life,

Today, a new voice has been
Added to the joy of the black women,
Causing the dry bamboo flutes to buzz
With the pantaloons of the ancestors,

Adorn our emerald embryonic pride with
The ambrosial smiles charms of the sunrise,
For he pelts of the peerless mid-night
Has been remodeled with our dark gore.

WILL OUR PAIN BE GAIN?
The fearful python had swallow
Our fearless inner fellow,
See and hear the waves
Marching in their endless ranks,
Smashing blood against the
Rocks at the Burundi cliff,
Will the fog of despair and wail
Hung over Rwanda for long?

Hmm, the emotion of this moment
Has swallowed our African thought,
Oh no, this curious season
Has caused us to reason,
Will our rain be pain?
Will our pain be gain?
May be, when the rain fell on the
Leopard skin, it washed off its spots,

Behold, the endless umbilical cord
Of Africa has every reason to bleed,
For the bitter sword had
No respect for our mother’s womb,
Will our sorrow be fate?
Will our fate be hollow?
May be, when the frog in front fell,
The others behind did not take caution.

THE HOUR OF EMANCIPATION
I have a vision and a goal
In my heart and mind,
Of a new and a great awakening;
And where the thirsty volcanoes
Shall cry our loud for blood;

And where the mountains
Shall lie flat on their faces;
And where the wise aunt
Shall rule over the jungle in wisdom;
And where the wild bamboo
Shall provide edible fruits for mankind;

And where the dark moon
Shall rule over the lights and day;
And where both the South and the West wind
Shall hold their peace indefinitely;
And where realities in nature
Shall live without principles;

And where the ****** sea
Shall boil in an unquenchable rage,
Seeking vengeance on the wicked enemy;
And where the sky shall turn red and
Shall war against the flaming earth,

Nevertheless, in all these
There shall be a mental re-birth,
We shall excel in progress and in pride,
We shall officiate our own destiny,
We shall discover our mental capabilities,
Which is the road to our common destiny.

             II

Yes, I have a vision and a goal
Still in my heart and mind
Of a new and a better life,
In which all men, women and children
Of goodwill and a passion for excellence
Might be able to express themselves freely,

Without force, fear or favour,
And where life’s opportunities and times,
Might be open freely to all;
And where all mankind
Shall walk at liberty in solidarity;

And where equity and equality
Shall be our hallmark;
And where starvation, sorrow and suffering
That evil trio,
Shall be no more;

And where dedication, discipline and determination,
That just trio
Shall penetrate our souls and spirits;
And where a new start
With a just course,
Really might be possible to all,
Forgetting past failures and errors,

Nevertheless, in all these
We must let bygones be bygones
Where liberty and love is concerned,
Now is the hour of a fresh emancipation
With an honest and fair purpose.

MY ENVIABLE ETERNAL BEAUTY
Welcome my Princess! Oh Heavens,
For the queen of my heart
Is about to offer to nature
Her complete beauty of Africa,

Give her the Kente cloth
In its rich, natural and splendid array,
And offer her newborn feet with
The golden sandals and diamond beads,

Behold! There she descends from the
Unapproachable eternal flames of the sun,
With the divine firmament
Fizzling at her flammable tune,

See how the precious fragrant branches
Of the clouds covers her lovely feet,
For the clouds have gathered and there is
Nothing more to expect but the storm,

Oh yes, I have found a ****** woman,
The beauty among the daughters of great men,
Whose eyes are as brilliant as the star

And as delightful as a sugarcane;
Behold, her face is as bright as palm wine;
Her hair sleeps like a slender thread,
And her stature is as that of a pawpaw tree,

She is called Obaahemaa Kabutuwaa
And truly she is Rasses Kabutuwaa
Whose eyes are those of the faithful dove,

Truly, Kabutuwaa whose
Gods is like that of bees,
Slim, black and full of sweetness,

Truly, Kabutuwaa is obedient and wise,
Truly, Kabutuwaa for whom
All men felt love in their hearts!

Come! Oh my unveiled one,
And expose thy soft and loamy face,
For the nations shall seek and
Behold thy enviable eternal beauty,

Ah, the proud effeminate shadow of Africa,
Please show the angelic face of
Thy love to my perturbed soul,
For thou art an African ****** indeed.

OBAMA BACK IN GHANA
Look, blow the horn!
Cry, gather together!
Take refuge!
Do not delay!
Lament and wail!
For the fierce anger
Of the gods have not
Turned back from you,
Obama comes back home,

Be astonished, oh heavens,
And be horribly afraid,
Set up signposts!
For the broken calabash
Can hold no water
But a ****** blood,
Obama comes back home,

Can anyone behold
Your great plagues?
Oh Africa, my Africa,
The fruitful womb under
Fierce eternal siege,
Do not look up to the West!
And thou shall be saved,
Obama comes back home.

THE BETRAYED DOYEN
The growing day has
Handed over the doyen
To the dawning evening,
Yes, it is the
Responsibility of the
Father to make the
Sacrifices for the son,

Ask the son to wake up
Early on his soul day,
In preparation for the ceremony,
For Ntikuma has exposed
Kwaku Ananse once again,
Perhaps, it was our fault,
For Boakye Danquah has
Gone to the village without a cause,

Now, sprinkle the divine water
From the calabash,
Three times on him,
Oh yes, on the son,
And ask for the Gods blessings
Right after the libation,

Indeed, anyone who does
Not know the drums or horn
Message of his chief,
Gets lost in any dispersion,
Joseph Boakye Danquah,
The true father of Ghana,
We are debtors to your soul.

            II
Who is this father?
Ask him to use the three
Fingers between his thumb
And the smallest finger
To smear the mixture of white clay
On his forehead, chick and wrist bone,
For Boakye Danquah has
Gone to village without a cause,

Ah, Boakye was born
In the period where
The stormy rainfall causes
Small ***** to abound,
Hmm, the nations have drunk
The water of affliction
And have eaten the
Strange bread of adversity,

Was anyone there,
To quench his throat?
Was anyone there?
To drink his blood and sweat?
Was anyone there?
To witness this transfiguration?

Indeed, the horns cannot be
Too heavy for the head of the cow that
Must bear them,
Joseph Boakye Danquah,
The true father of Ghana,
We are debtors to your soul.

EMPRESS BERHAN MOGASA
The fingerprint of life
Sounded very good,
And the flash of death
Appeared very dim,

Yet the sparrow led me
To the mighty stream
That has no source,

Yes, the appearance of the
Stream was very good,
Yet she came around
With her immaculate ***,

Yes, she was in a flabby
Kente cloth which looked very dense,
Yet she came around
With her pleasant beacon,

Ah, look again,
This mighty tree has no roots
The shadow that can quench
The darts of the true enemy,
Has created a new wave of love,

See how I have grown to read
Between her apron white teeth,
For her bark looked black,
Because white was not yet beautiful,

This story must be told,
Oh yes, she must be known
By the ancestors and the Gods,
She is indeed the true
Likeness and image of Kabutuwaa,

Stir straight down the valley
And observe how beautiful
Her emperor Majesty of Ethiopia is,

Indeed, Montewab , She that bears
The eternal edible fruits of Africa
Is the fir of life,

Now that I have found
Empress Berhan Mogasa,
I am assuaged to rain against drought.

A TWIST OF FATE
Now see, I am forbidden
By my totem not to eat
The meat of the dog,
For my future cannot
Even distinguish between
Water and palm-wine,

Oh, life is ill,
When I went to the bush
To fetch the medicine,
I met a fearful fellow on the way,
But no, an evil ancestral spirit
Snatched the medicine
From my hopeless soul,

Unfortunately, fellow crusaders
Were looking ghastly at my
***** rag, not loosing
Sight of my plucky suffering,
None fetches firewood
From my bush anymore,
Where the tree of the
Pawpaw has fallen,
Not even my enemies,

Hmm, I was made to swear
The divine oath of solidarity,
But fairness was not found
In the heart of my companions,
Given me the hope that,
The everlasting python
Which live in the Birim river
Did not make a mistake in
Confirming my creation,
Indeed, when myth dies
Only force is made free.

MY CRAVING LIPS
The ivory of the egotistical lily,

The morning hymn of the pious jenny,

The dazzling ebony African beauty,

The sweet spice that seasons my honey,

Rain thy glaring love once again

Upon my careless dispirited pride,

As I rain these tender tears

Upon this stagnant dry land,

I have tasted thy venial venom

With seasonal ache and repentance,

Now, purge my narrow breath of life

From this wicked roaring hunter

Who fire’s at my forlorn nights,

Do not preserve this deficit of mine

For our innocent image,

Lest the gods of the City of the Dead

Keep close to our naked hut,

Calibrate my disobedience with thy soft wind,

And let not thy fierce storm approach,

Resurrect my muscles from the grave

And cover my bones with the flesh of thy kisses,

Open thy wonderful cataract to stream

From thy tongue into my barren bones,

And seal my cockcrow and thy twilight

In the clouds of thy slender cotton wool,

Come, oh my dear Kabutuwaa,

Come and visit my farm this bedtime

And let us **** the blazing stars mutually,

Set free the promising arrow of my daylight

And the pretty bow of thy nightfall

Via the thick murkiness of this gulf,

Allow me to crawl up thy tree of life

And taste of its couple peach anew,

For my craving lips longs for thy

Indispensable eternal ******.

Which path to take when
I come to a crossroad,

Committed to your camp

For some will not understand,

Some will misinterpret it,
Some will be confuse,
You are priceless,
Yes, I am speechless,

I thank Tweaduampon
For giving you to me,
And thank you for being
My reliable true friend,

You are priceless,
In fact, I am speechless.

DAEHAFI, MY HEART BEAT
Hogbetsotso is once again with us,
But I have not yet found my arm,
She is on her way once again,
Oh yes, I must know the truth
Behind her lovely convex hips,

When was she hatched?
For the merchants have not yet
Arrived with their good news,
Can anyone behold the Volta

Lake trembling at her sweet voice?
Can anyone behold her divine blackness
Brightening the hearts of the
Men upon the horizon of Dzodze?

The chief priest is said to have hidden
This truth from the ancestors,
For her hymns are nothing
But eternal love and beauty,

Now see how green and glorious
Her savoury dusky bark looks,
Are the naked Gods permitted to
Create a beauty like unto her image?

My imagination cannot even define
The secret behind her beauty,
Neither can a basket full of words

Betray my secret thoughts of her,
For the beads around her waist
Has been a snare to great kings,

She is an Ewe indeed,
Daehafi, the exceptional beauty
That brightens the watching sun,

The mighty wind that refreshes
My fearless daily hopes,
In fact, her precious eyes flashes
Glaring fire with her breath of flame,

My dear Daehafi,
Go and persuade the sea wave
Not to break into pieces,
And kiss me once again,

A last long kiss,
Until I draw your soul within
My plum lips and
Drink down all your love,

In fact, she is the only prim
And proper Black beauty that
Weighs her love before
Given out her heart.

I STILL LOVE YOU
Cook me some love
And drown me deep into your kisses,
Remember how sweet and
Countless it was to hold you close,
Please do not experiment with my love,
Count my love as a successful loving
Laboratory experiment ready for market,
For you took away my breath
Without killing my heart,
No matter how young or old it looks,
I still love you.

ERODED ROSE
Oh, thou art the dawn
Of they servant’s nature,
Thou that must quench the fire
Of they servant’s thirsty marrow,
Thou that the arrows
Of thy servant’s eyelids cannot sleep over,
Thou that the malaise molten
Nutrients in thy servant’s veins,
Erupts at thy glorious countenance,

Oh, thou art the guardian
Of thy servant’s soul,
Thou that sour and sob
At the nakedness of evil,
Thou that speak for the bees
That provides for the other class,
Thou that make the wicked blood flow,

Oh see, thou art the tenderloin of the devil indeed,
For thy heart, mind and soul are
All blank with no other value
Except manipulation and loneliness,
Insecurity and the terror of death
Are now accompanying thy cruel destiny,
Ah, the hour of thy selfishness
Has faded thy glorious tenure,

Thou have learnt to appreciate
Taste and sight only in thy dying days,
The Abosom deserves an answer
And thou shall produce it,
Thy liquor and chicken and incantation
Cannot please the ancestral spirits,

They have no pleasure in what
Thy hand has acquired by their grace,
We are now under the siege of June,
But the mighty walls are no more,
The woes of war and torment
Ahead are mightier than the former,
Famine and pre-mature death
Must also be a caution,

Oh yes, thy sense of judgement
Is well appreciated by the priest,
Thou that have corrupted
Thy present and future glory,
Thy past cannot pacify thy present,
For the current cyclone of Uganda
Has eroded the sweet-scented rose
Of thy scattered devilish soul,
Thy hymns are as evil as thy goodness.

CLEOPATRA OF MY HEART
The mighty men of valour
Hate to possess the
Answer to thy beauty,
For as long as

Nature obey laws,
There shall not be
Any beauty like
Unto my darling,

Ah, questioning the past
Has opened a new leaf
Of this unquestionable version,
For as long as

Thou shine thy true
Blackness upon my sinful nature,
These happy days of mine
Will be lost without thy gut,

The persistent shrilling
Of the magic cricket
At midnight and the rustling of
The palm leaves in the sea breeze,

Makes me feel
Ashamed and proud,
For as long as
Great men are
Ready to bite the

Lioness for thy sake,
Thy power of beauty
Shall be the soul
Of thy flamboyant womanhood,

Never hid them, oh
My only true lover,
For as long as
Thou art fairer in character
Than the master’s daughter,

She that has no
Respect for the humus,
The nations shall behold these firm
Twain towers upon
Thy juicy sedate chest,

Children of Africa,
Look up straight
Upon the holy mountains,
For as long as
This blazing sun

Remains the likeness
Of her sharp big eyes,
The eternal honey dripping
From her faithful lips
Will be traded for life

Ah, my only falling rain,
The mother of many nations,
For as long as
Thy beauty remains prosperous,
The starling shall not cease

To express my sincere
Whims to imprison thee
In my heavy heart,
I love thee Obaahemaa,
Thou art Cleopatra indeed.

QUEEN OF SHEBA
Why wonder?
Oh great men from the east,
For the irrefutable expedition
Is full of joie de vivre,

Now see, the executioner does not
Even know what to throw away
And what to keep,

For her words are always
Seasoned with stitches of
Honey in my heart,

See how the eternal shadow
Of thy beauty, put my angelic heart
To rest every rainy season,

Oh, my faithful firstborn love,
Sometimes wisdom has it all
Other times beauty has it all
But this time thou have it all,

Yes, hail the precious gift from Ethiopia,
For the wisest King of Israel cannot
Even comprehend the secret behind
This gorgeous eternal beauty and wisdom,

The seasonal sweet-scented
Shining moon that betrays my thoughts,
Thou art the fruitful beauty of Africa,
Indeed, Makeda is the yardstick of beauty.

THE IRONY OF LOVE
The tortoise has began
To sniff aloud impatiently,
Causing the *** full of

Palm-wine to burst into flames,
But the bat can only
Think of himself as a bird,

Let the yam tendril
Grow rapidly in this season,
For this matey idea
Engenders glowing nightmares,

Now know this,
The sacrifices of palm-wine
Cannot be substituted with water,
For your departure has caused
Me to sleep with the magic owl,

Oh yes, hear the sparrow
Singing your conventional song,
Listen dear, listen!

Listen and quicken the precious
Beads on your convex hips,
So that my heavy heart

Can behold her boisterousness,
Even though good beads
Do not speak in public,

Indeed, the machete has
Fallen on the wrong victim,
For I left the chicken undisguised,
And the ravenous hawk
Took an instinctive care of it,

***** dear, *****!
***** all your pain
Into the thirsty calabash,
For I have evinced

A strong desire to be
Reconciled with your love,
So, let our imperturbable love
Unfold as the implacable day unfolds,

Obaahemaa Nyarkowaa,
The mother of my heart,
Please forgive my dumb insolence,
For I acted out of love.

The season of beauty
Has finally come to stay,
But the wise sparrow
Said to me,
‘Don’t mention names’

Never has nature begotten
Such a pure sense of
An African beauty,
But the wise sparrow
Said to me,
‘Don’t mention names’,

Questioning thy true beauty
Has placed me on the known,
But the wise sparrow
Said to me,
‘Don’t mention names’,

Show me all
That thou can,
So I can perceive
And conceive thy
True seasonal countenance,

But the wise sparrow
Said to me,
‘Don’t mention names’

Oh no, the days of
My love life is
Blinking on a fast
Lane for thy taste,

But the wise sparrow
Said to me,
‘Don’t mention names’,

Is the length of my
Dying days untamable by
Thy faithful jewels?

But the wise sparrow
Said to me,
‘Don’t mention names’

Ah! The glorious sensitivity in
The moon-like eyeballs
Of thee, has imprisoned
My reasoning power,

But he wise sparrow
Said to me,
‘Don’t mention names’

I hope thou may fall
On my waiting lips,
Though I cannot have thee,
But the wise sparrow
Said to me,
‘Don’t mention names’,

My heart is bleeding in pain,
For posterity may not live to
Behold thy true beauty,

But the wise sparrow
Said to me,
‘Don’t mention names’

I do remember thy
Precious name very well,
But the wise sparrow
Said to me,
‘Don’t mention names’

Accepting the sophistry
Of thy symbolic hips
Under the Kente cloth
Has been an axiom,

But the wise sparrow
Said to me,
‘Don’t mention names’

Now I know, that
The echoes of the Gods
Do not tremble
Over thy beauty alone,

But the wise sparrow
Said to me,
‘Achimota’.

THE DEMURE OF LOVE
Why this quietness?
Why this seriousness?
Why this modesty?
Has the old lizard
Grown another tail?

Oh, my immutable love,
The impalpable pure-scented
Dawn that impales my thoughts,
Have thou reached an impasse?

For the clouds have gathered
And there is nothing more
To expect but the storm,

My sliding helpless slick rhythm,
Thy words are always covered with
Stitches of honey in my heart,

Who is this impious imp?
Rivalling with my angelic heart?
Indeed, you love is wet and slippery.

MY PERSPEX POT OF LOVE
Behold, the air is cool and
Damp with fallen dews,
And my blood still ran cold
Whenever I remember
The terror of the
Sleepless night ahead,

Ah, my dear has still
Not returned with my love,
For the shrill silent cry
Of the insects have even
Penetrated the silent night,

My Perspex *** of love
Is virtually empty,
Oh no, it is empty indeed,
Which petite can go
To the Offin river side
This day dedicated to the Gods?

I sent the fast tortoise,
But she is not yet back,
May be, the dusky looking
Moon has enlightened
Her irreligious hope,

Fetch me a drink,
Oh my only Perspex ***,
Hold your breast with
Your reincarnated hands,
To stop them flapping
Noisily against your body,

Run dear, run!
For my heart is gazing
In your infinite direction,
Like a hen whose only
Chick has been carried away,

Awake, O north wind,
And come, O south!
Blow upon my heart,
That its spices may
Flow out impatiently,
Can the bat hear this?

Let my beloved come
And quench her garden,
And eat its pleasant honeydew
Fruits dropping from my lips,
My bank of scented roses,
My dove, my Perspex ***,
Come and fill my heart.

YES, SAY WEALTH!
Can I say that,
Wealth is not about riches
But about survival in peacehood?
Yes I can say that,
Riches without knowing
Gods and His ways is not wealth,

Can I say that,
The wise keeps wealth
But the fool seeks riches?
Yes I can say that,
A poor generous man is wealthy,
But a wicked rich man is more
Miserable than the word destitute,

Can I say that,
Wealth is more about survival
But less about progress?
Yes I can say that,
The Gods of riches is no different
From the Gods of poverty,
Whichever way it comes, fight it,

Can I say that,
Both the rich and the poor
Know no peace, except the wealthy?
Yes I can say that,
Both riches and poverty
Are the betrayal of self
And sense of judgment,

Can I say that,
Life can go on without riches,
But it is no better with poverty?
Yes I can say that,
Being so careful about riches
Is being so liberal about investment,

Can I say that,
Some seek riches,
Others seek wealth?
Yes I can say that,
Some men love riches
More than their own souls,
But their souls enjoy
The riches and not them,

Can I say that,
It is foolish for one to see
Riches as the salvation for ones soul?
Yes I can say that,
Wealth is the creation, protection
And advancement of time,
Opportunity, discipline and energy,

Can I say that,
Wealth not worked for
Is a stolen riches?
Yes I can say that,
Wealth is the endurance of
Both long suffering
And short suffering.

STOP CRYING
Blessed are you who drink my pain
And swallow my seasonal worry,
Where were you,
When the slave master
Took away my pride and destiny?

Stop crying over me,
For I have truly
Exchanged my honey for their bees,
And the walls of ignorance and oppression
Are drawn down over my ballad,

Oh yes, the cockroach will not be safe
In the gathering of fowls,
But you need to stop crying.

LOVE PASSION
The holy cricket has no reason
To hold its last breath for long
For the royal naked bird

Has no other secret to display
Now see, the enzyme of my heart
Has delivered another staff
Without the knowledge of the ducks,

Let the morning stars rain
My pure dews violently
And allow my wet sun rays
To swim rapidly in the air,

Hmm, if the queen of my air
Continues to harden the back
Of this delicate tortoise,
How can my motionless heart
Find a dripping honey like hers?

Today is Thursday,
Yes, today is her soul day
And tilling of her love is forbidden
But can a cloud full of sweet words

Break the chains of my strong passions?
Let my bitter tongue
Remain silent in his cage
And lose not the cowries and the cola also.

VAGUENESS
I heard practice makes man perfect,
But I knew practice makes
A man slave to his skills
I saw evil behind the gates of Tapa,
But I knew that was my fellow man,

I saw a man conspiring
Against his neighbour,
But I knew a demon was more
Sympathetic and intelligent than man,

I thought I had giving
All my love to a woman,
But I knew I had become the greatest
Fool that nature has ever invested in,

I sought knowledge with insight
But I knew I had wisdom without favour,
I sought wisdom with might
But I knew I had  Tweaduampon on my side,

I sought Tweaduampon
Diligently by his favour
But I knew I had enough
Life to fulfill my destiny,

I sought a peaceful and enjoyable life,
But I knew I could not live
Life to the fullness without a woman,
I sought a beautiful and a wise woman,
But I knew I had found the
Curse of my destiny,

I fought the curse of my destiny
With the same woman,
But I knew a woman
Could never fully be trusted,

I sought my greatest enemy in life,
But I knew my power
Of choice was the enemy,
I decided not to choose again in my life,
But I knew I had lost
My senses and will power,

I fought against death,
But I knew the more I fought death,
The more I hated life,
I went on a long journey of righteousness,
But I knew my resting-place
Was the very evil in my heart,

I sought prosperity and success,
But I knew life on earth
Was based on time and opportunity,
I sought the opportunity to succeed,
But I knew I did not have
The time on my side,

I found the time lying idle,
But I knew the opportunity
Was far away from me,
I failed the test of life,
But I knew that was a pass of death,

I found the meaning of life,
But I knew that was
Exactly the meaning of death,
I found the essence of life,
But I knew whatever I termed
As real did not really exist,

I sought the relationship
Between life and death,
But I knew life always hate
What death loves most,
I found what death hated most,
But I knew that was
Exactly what life loved most,

I found something else
Interesting about life
But I knew life always keeps
What it hates and gives
What it loves to death to keep,

I decided to hate death,
But I knew that the ultimate gift
Life can ever give to nature is death,

I loved death instead,
But I knew death is the ultimate,
I found sickness as
A messenger of death,
But I knew life is where
Sickness only works,

I found that both life and death
Cannot be fully trusted,
But I knew the phenomena
Of life and death
Have little disagreement and
Are with one purpose,
They both seek to enslave man.

IRRESISTIBLE BEAUTY
Hear the ancient drum and horn
Singing and teasing their hens with corn
I can even behold thy smiles shining
Straying sweet stars upon my being
Oh love, display thy attractive nose
And thy irresistible face as a prose
And strike me with thy beauty and charm
Place these flowers from my farm
In thy plaited strands of hair
And open thy voluptuous lips with air.

LIFE GOES ON
Growing up in the
White man’s grave,
Experiencing the days
Of infinite mental disquiet,
Glancing up at the
Towering walls of life,
And considering my
Unacceptable wretched
Condition is all I can remember,
For I rejected the feeling
Of rolling in my own cobweb,
Calling it merely a
Trick of my imagination,
Indeed, the child resembles
The father but belongs
To the mother’s clan,
And the waves and tides
Are nothing but noxious
Dynamic icing strength,
Ah! A mighty tree has falling,
Flinging down coil after
Coil with hasty energy,
Someone should please
Ask nature to make
Restitution for this damage
Done to my restless hope,
For the resplendent and
Bastardized peace in me
Has been torn into
Squalid tatters by howls
Of rage and shrieks of lament,
May be, nature can establish
My virginity in the blood-stained
Sheet on my wedding night,
Hmm, my queer life,
The white fowl spotted
By the roving evil hawk,
Indeed, the mangrove tree
Dwells in the Pra river,
But that does not make it a crocodile.

THE VICTORY OF OKYEMAN
The season of indefinite dilemma,
Why are you wailing?
Should I choose between
The image and the shadow?
Hmm, Okyeman is still waiting
To choose between victory
And his twain brother, defeat,

Alright, Okyeman!
Give me back my bread
And take away my water,
No, give me back my water
And take away my air,
No, give me back my air
And take away my pride,

No, give me back my pride
And take away my life,
No, give me back my life
And take away my good name,
No, give me back my good name
And take away my nothing,

Ah, my bread is buttered with blood,
Whiles the air is still socked with tension,
Is that the Ashanti infantary approaching
Swiftly from the far west for bloodshed?
Can anyone cease the head
Of this nephew of Obiri Yeboa?

The head of this great King,
Osie Tutu is ours today,
Indeed, when crocodiles
Eat their own eggs,
What will they not do
To the flesh of a toad?

TOWER OF SUCCESS
The Tower of success
Is upon a mountain
Which is surrounded by
An ocean of strenuous efforts,

Now see, there is also
A divine light which
Goes with a natural principle
That every man needs
Before getting up to the hill,

With Tweaduampon on our side,
We have been able to
Make the Tower our home,

Oh yes, only the black man
Has the key to the
Tower of Success
Without fear and tears,

We are the Africans,
Leadership is our role
And success if our hallmark,

This eternal light is in you,
And only the Blackman
Can make you discover it,

Come and support
The course of Africa,
And we shall make you
A discoverer of excellence.

THE SLEEPING LION
Oh no, it is not right
To side with an ordinance
Contrary to the divine words,
For the Gods of thy destiny is jealous
Over thy new found ego-Gods,

Thou slept as a great hero
And awoke as a dead wretched coward,
Thy gilt could not taste the indefinite
Wisdom from the ancestors for long,
May be, the libation poured
On thy blessed eighth day
Could not please the Gods of thy destiny,

Thou have lifted up thy wicked hands
Against the children of heaven,
And thou shall never escape
The judgment of Tweaduampon Kwame,
And any attempt to exculpate thyself
Shall outcry thy destruction,

Why, has the executioner received
Thy death warrant from the council of elders?
The ruler of the city of the dead
Is stirred up with delight
To welcome thee into his kingdom,
The worms and termites
Shall be thy bedspread and pillow,

The sea behind thy house,
Yarns for they salt,
For how shall he be clean,
He who is defiled with blood and slaughter,
By the polluted lapse of denial,
And who is stained by so great an evil?

Oh, see how thou have become
A spectacle to the sparrows,
The floods are now clothed in the
Official dress of the raven,
Causing the volcanic mountains over the
Eastern hills to weep over thy transfiguration,
For thy sacred calico has been
Stained with malice and destruction,

Amazingly, the rooster has accepted
To crow only at noonday,
Whilst the dawn has also refused
Contact with the daylight,
Now, let the lazy sleeping lion
Dream of infinite terror and disaster,
Oh yes, mighty lion, the clouds
Of Nigeria will not hold together,
Until thy woes are emptied in fear and tears.

LOVE WILL GO ON
I cannot perceive my past,
Neither can I behold my future,
Yet my heart will go on,

The native doctor has cast
An evil spell on my gun,
Causing poverty to become
My greatest confidant,
Yet my love will go on,

She has left me
For the energetic farmer,
Indeed, he who has corn
Has no problem owning fowls,
Yet my heart will go on,

Nature has frown
Her face in darkness,
Whiles the sky is
Weeping in tears of dim stars,
Yet my love will go on,

My dead palm nut tree has
Decided not to reproduce
Tasty palm wine any longer,

Knowing very well that
My gourd is extremely thirsty,
Yet my heart will go on,

Life has been cruel
To my youthful teeth,
Having no pity for
My taste and sight,
Yet my love will go on,

The cruel Gods have brought
A great calamity on my land,
Causing my rain drop to
Hold its peace indefinitely,
Yet my heart will go on,

The Aburi mountains are
Lying flat on their bellies
Whiles the Shai hills are

Looking ghastly at my pains
Yet my love for Frimpomaa
Will forever go on.

MY ROSE FLOWER OF LOVE
How beautiful it was
When I beheld the cool
Morning breeze singing,

For my soul thought he
Heard a rhythmic
Thumping from the market,

But it was my heart
Applauding the prospect
Of an unexpected fellowship with
The untouchable rose flower,

Here are my
One-night-stand rules,
For I remembered the passion
When I forgot the sweetness,

But wait and let her listen
To my wailing heart full of love breath
That stretches up to the stars with
Leaves that have never been shed,

Ah, my only falling rain,
The mother of many nations,
The beauty that remains prosperous,

The starling shall not cease
To express my sincere whims to
Imprison thee in my heavy heart.

CONSUMMATION
This quiet night is too pure,
And the envious one is about
To sow the seed of jubilation,
Evil has overtaking me,
And my love one is about to
Bleed the tears of contempt,

The struggle is real,
And the jealous one is about to coat
The motion portrait of euphoria,
Why was this price not accepted
Before my first moan?
This breathless peace cannot be the
Place where my heart calls home,

Oh life, spite my weightless star
Over the southern hyaline,
I cannot not believe that my inept
Name is about to ration the little
Palmwine with the prelate ancestors,

How long will my wife’s
Womb continue to yowl?
Fate could not even wait
For my fondness to breathe my sun,

Beat the overt drums of time
And give me a *** of warm water,
For my blank soul has no other
Value except endurance and rejection,

Blow the covert horn of endless time
And let me ride over dawn and dusk’
For my greatest traitor has come
To hint me of my beholder’s score,

My sacred cloud waves are now
Pregnant with dry rain of gold dust,
What have I done to
Wound my own ghost?

I have nothing more
To sacrifice except my morrow,
Alight my irrevocable paean at the
Potent door of my inescapable darkness
And let the Gods take possession and audit
My perfect price of ornate fragrance.

THE SUBJUGATED WAR
Alert the Ankobeahene and Kontihene
To secure the women and children,
For the language is war,
Remind the Kyidomhene,
Nifahene and the Benkumhene
To caution their men
For a possible storm,

Men of war!
Fill the mighty *** of fire
With the water fetched
From the Godstwi river,
Do not forget to mix it
With the divine talismans,

For the pale-skin men
Who knocked our doors
With their good news,
Are now knocking our
Doors with their gun news,

Represent their commanders with stones,
And place them in the boiling mixture,
Has the omnipotent Kwame and
Mother Earth approved of this?

My servants, check on the ***
Whether it has disintegrated,
Then we expect defeat,
If not, play the drums
And blow the horns of war
In delight and strength,

War!
War!
War!
Who is to lead us?
For the *** on the fire has
Expressed our defeat by
Wailing and disintegrating,

Oh yes, nevertheless the
Gods and ancestors have chosen
The vibrant queen mother of Ejisu,

Ah, though we are fighting
A war of contempt,
Her Royal majesty,
Nana Yaa Asantewaa
Shall lead the entire Ashanti army,

Weep for your children,
Oh, great Krobea Asante Kotoko,
For they are going in
For an unpleasant defeat,
But for the sake of
The courage of Yaa Asantewaa,
We shall fight!

Fight!
Fight!
Fight! Till we see defeat,
For the moon moves slowly,
But by daytime it crosses the sky.

ADWOBA MY LOVE
Oh my dear Adwoba,
The hen that lays her
Eggs in and out of season,

It does not take four
Market days to make
A virtuous woman complete,

For the great vulture
Has no bed but he
Entertains sound sleep,

Thou have made me aware
That when a poor woman
Loves her dear child,

She cannot prove it
Through material gains,
For the glamorous beads
Around thy hips can even
Be traded for my life,

Who heard the whisper?
Has the Gods who make
Dreams come true heard it?

May be, the horn is too
Heavy for the mighty head
That should carry it,

Listen dear, Listen!
Listen and taste the palm wine
Pouring out of my heart,
And give ear to my cry,

For anyone who does
Not know the horn message
Of his chief gets lost
At any major dispersion.

OPENER OF THE WAYS
I am Emmanuel, the strength firmly
Established upon my divinity is
The Melchisedec Crown, I am diadem
With the White Crown of The Father,
And set as King on the Throne of Grace,
I have assumed the double
Golden Dove-crest, and have
Grasps the Crook and the Flail,

I am Jesus, I have scattered
The darkness of eternal terror,
I have driven away the mighty
Whirlwind and the storm,
I have given the pleasant breeze of
The north wind unto The Spirit of God,
The Beautiful Being, as He came
Forth from the Divine Flesh
Of Him who gave Him birth,

I am Jesus, I have given cakes
With sweet hand to the Glorious Ones,
I have protected the shoulder of The
Spirit of God, I have embalmed Him,
I have made sweet His fragrance,
Even the odor of the Beautiful God,

I am Emmanuel, the Lord of Sudan,
I have made content Egypt, and
Have quieted the two Divine
Combatants in their season of storm,

SWEET LOVE STAR
My dear kabutuwaa,
A true beauty called Yaa,
The wonderful wave
That noise can pay,

The beautiful cave
That voice can say,
It was thee that pave
The dove’s way
To save my love’s ray,

Now, portray
Thy loving ice
So I can pray
For thy living justice

Grab the date
Of my love star
And let my crab mate
Thy love nectar.

TRUE VENGANCE
Seducers of the sky above,
Drinkers of the salty sea,
Oh, possessors of the earth below,
How I wish I never existed,
How I wish the Gods never existed,

You are gradually fading away the
Splendid beauty of my true existence,
Yes, the tornadoes and the hurricanes
And the thunderclap and the fire
Shall always accompany your existence,

Oh yes, I am about to express
My distaste for your order,
The beautiful part of my nature
Have you consciously eroded,
But the thunder-Gods shall surely
Deal with you relentlessly,

Hmm, everyone that knows your works
Shall have a nasty story to tell your kind,
For your passion for wealth and excellence
Has imprison my wretched soul
And has divided my living bones,
Mother earth has no more pleasure in you,
Before your unforgiving existence,
Truly, I knew the story of the
Old one and his nature,

Wait and experience my mighty right arm,
Always shall you seek
My indefinite destruction,
Always shall I seek indefinite
Vengeance on your children’s children,
Unfortunately, it is ignorance that
Makes the rat attack the cat.

YOUR LOVE BETRAYED MY HEART
I harvested the stars
And burnt the moon
Just to season your love,
But you have now
Found yourself a pure xylophone
And have created a rhythm for it,

I wept over agony
And pierced my heart
Just to feel your love,
But you have now
Found yourself a valuable coin
And have not traded it,

I rejected the dawn
And sealed the river source
Just to hear your love,
But you have now
Found yourself an everlasting fountain
And have drunk as much as you could,

I mended the rocks
And fought the storms
Just to hear your love,
But you have now
Found yourself a secret cornerstone
And have leaned on it comfortably,

I bit my fingers
And chewed the palm kernels
Just to sing your love,
But you have now
Found yourself a better tune
And have danced to it,

I buried the clouds
And drunk the sea
Just to call your love,
But you have now
Found yourself a basket full of roses
And have planted a sea of it,

I blurred the firelight
And strolled over the sea waves
Just to dance your love,
But you have now
Found yourself a new moon
And it brightens your night always,

I betrayed my heart
And performed with the fiend
Just to dance your love,
But you have now
Found yourself a true woman
And have betrayed my love.

MILEAGE
No peeking! Oh great owl
For the expedition
Is no more enlivened,

Oh no, the market women
Cannot afford the upkeep
Of this treacherous mileage,

Now see, the priest does not
Even know what to *****
And what to swallow,

For the tranquilizing effect
Of her beauty, put my heart
Into trance every new moon,

My beautiful African queen,
Please speak the prophecies of
The ancestors to my dwindling nature,

For the halcyon days of my
Youth is no more hale and hearty,
And never be a quisling to my heart.

MOTHER’S TEARS
Give Martin Lutherking Jr,
The cup of transfiguration,
And he shall drink from
The river of vaudeville
And thoughtless transmigration,

Listen children,
Nature taught me to drink
From the cup of tolerance,
But how can Akwasidae
Be enjoyed in praises?
That is the drums and claps of Africa
Beating and pleading violently
In excess fear and tears,

Now I know, that
I will never know
My enemies until
I become one,
Yes, I will never know
My love ones until
I enjoy the fruit of love,

Oh no, the sacred calico
Has grown weak and dim,
And the hunter has brought
A friendly mamba home,

My child, do not question
The nursing mother
Why she is raining in pain,
For the door of her anchor
Is now shattered in the
Valley of infinite darkness,
And her child is off
To serve the prelate ancestor,

Behold, the naked Gods
Have nestled their own,
And have rewarded nature
With the official dress
Of the ritual raven,
This quagmire is blood-curdling
And emotionally unfathomable.

RENUNCIATION
Look, blow the horn!
Cry, gather together!
Take refuge!
Do not delay!
Lament and wail!
For the fierce anger
Of the Abosom have not
Turned back from you,

Be astonished, oh heavens,
And be horribly afraid,
Set up signposts!
For the broken calabash
Can hold no water
But a ****** blood,

Can anyone behold
Your great plagues?
Oh Africa, my Africa,
The fruitful womb under
Fierce eternal siege,
Do not look up to the West!
And thou shall be saved.
