I hold you softly against your gentleness,
Breathing the smell of your fresh new life.
I have waited for you for such a long time,
I will protect you from trouble and strife.

But now you're here my sweet baby,
My heart no longer aches.
I will nurture you my darling,
No matter how long it takes.

Your face is so innocent,
And your nature so sweet.
Your small delicate fingers,
Your dainty little feet.

At last you are with me,
You are mine to keep.
Hush my darling baby,
Rest your head and sleep.

Sheila.
