Oh what a beautiful day I said
As I gazed out the window from the edge of my bed
It's raining I know that I must be outside
Before that it stops I'll go for a ride
So I pulled on my slicker and jumped on my bike
And I peddled on down to the path that I like
Once in the rain I started to feel
My melancholy heart was starting to heal
As I slowly moved through the forest in the rain
I heard my heart breaking, I felt my heart's pain
As it rained even harder I started to cry
Raindrops and tears were flooding my eye
Winding along the path in the shower
I was missing my baby, my own little flower
I came to a waterfall, loud and obtrusive
I felt very special with this feeling exclusive
After a while I stopped to reflect
From the corner of eye I began to detect
A king fisher poised on a rock in the bay
Like a maestro leading in his magical way
As I left I noticed him standing right there
Waiting for something that I'm unaware
Where was his mate was this his reason
For being alone during this rainy season
All of a sudden my eyes caught a glimpse
Of his beautiful queen all fit for a prince
She circled her eggs from high up above
Then gently set down to warm them with love
I was amazed at the incredible number or creatures
That were out in the rain for my special features
A turtle, some ducks and swans that were preening
It gave that path to me special meaning
For the next time it rains you know where I'll be
I'll be riding that path in my mind peacefully
