I was walking along the footpath
Leading to the local park

The sun was shining down
The grass green and birds
Flying around…I could see the ducks
Swimming in the pond as my dog
Ran around my legs then shot off
To see what that rustle in the distance as
The warmth of the rays made me smile
My dog barking in the distance
At something that tried to run away

The birds singing to each other like a sweet
Musical rhythm to life…oh what a beautiful sight
It’s wonderful to just get away
