The sky is shivering
and the air whistles, hollow
under an all-embracing moon
glowing out before it settles down
all too soon

The atmosphere is afraid
Trails in unknown spaces
marking their ways, deeper
into a sky of dispersing clouds

Drifting down to become nothing
Fading out, but without a doubt

Dayrise breaks, then
over the burdens of yesterday
The sun inspired comfort
over a husk of cold souls

Our friend sat there, solemn
on a golden field, softer soils
Soaking up sunlight, royal
and breathing in pollen

He has ascended now
to the warmth from which
an endless love was born

Shining out, smiling out
before he settles down

All too soon, but without a doubt
