I make wishes on every eyelash
On each penny thrown into fountains
When the clock turns sticks
I close my eyes
And make another
I am a believer
But mostly
I just take every chance
I can get
Any opportunity
For a wish to come true
My wants
Are not complicated
Simple
Consisting of happiness
Contentedness
Wanting to feel whole
Without needing someone else to fill the gaps
I do not put my wishes into words
Only thoughts
My mind is filled completely
With ideas I've strung together
Hopes I've held on to tightly
I make a wish
Every chance I get
I have never seen a shooting star
But I've had eyelashes fall from my lids
And land on my cheeks
Enough times
To be able
To call it
The same thing
Wishes do not come easy
So I am taking
Every chance
I get.
