She grew up a misfit,
bounced from
house to house,
relative to relative,
she was tough.
She packed Marlboro's
in her rolled up sleeves,
cussed like a sailor
& dished out abuse
to her turnstile lovers.
But I could tell,
I could tell
it was all a facade
by the hidden smile
in her bloodshot eyes.
They got that way
by cryin'.
