Ashes on the Ground
You.
I tried to shake the feelings.
It was easy enough after you burned them.
They were nothing but ash on the ground, and so I left them
to blow away in the wind.
There was no wind
Not even a drop of rain.
I still ignored that sad pile of dust;
tried not to step in it as I walked around my life.
Fate is planning
Scheming
Calculating
Drawing up plans
for us.
One day that pile of ash
will explode into something
we are not expecting.
Are you ready to embrace
a Phoenix?
