Sweet, Destructive Temptation
Your smile brings back memories.
Times were simpler back then,
No ties to keep us down,
No age to make us wise.
I loved the way you forgot to care.
My heart wasn't yours to take,
You took it so gently,
Kept it in a cage.
Now here we are only years later.
My heart never left your cage,
I have ties keeping me down,
My age made me wise.
But here you are still so blissfully free.
My ties burning me so painfully,
I want to just run my fingers
Through your hair.
