Runs Still
Close upon one side, are the softest lips
Which move him now to keep
An amber glow
Inside his heart that slips
Into his soul
So deep
He hears sweet love’s open sea
Caress each word
She speaks
Calling him to come to her and see
Emerald eyes
Which make him weak
Remember me
Is the sound he hears
Whispering from her hair
Each lock curling round him near
His loving heart
So fair
Yet in her hands, he sees the clasp
Of sweetness
He knows fulfills
The dreams his soul longs to grasp
Before his life
Runs still
