You been gone for days.
You been gone for weeks.
And your side of the bed lies in wait.

We speak.
And you say there's a chance you might return.
Just when, you hadn't stated.
So I wait anticipating.

I turn and imagine you there.
Even if it's an empty dream.
Cause I realize you've been gone for awhile now.

You leave messages.
When I'm not home.
And I hate missing that call.
Which brings my spirit down.

I sit on your side of the room.
And say nothing.
Just thinking of your return.
And what I might say?
Yes I'm anticipating.

That you will return suddenly to me.
Your presence would make me happy.
