I made myself promise to
Stop planting flowers
In people's yards
Who never even tried to water them
Or forgot to
Or never even gave a **** about flowers
Whatever
I stopped letting people take me
And cut me down
And dry me out


I have too many scars for that
My bones have endured too much

I am strong
And I deserve to be watered

Able to grow as tall and as strong

And I don't have to depend on anyone either
