They looked upon it with disdain
convinced that it was wrong.
again and again
they fell on hands and knees
upon sighting it,
and ripped it from the ground
and left it to rot in the garbage.

But I was always there
to pick it up
and re plant it.
again and again
on hands and knees
re planting it.

They try and they try
again and again
pulling the **** from the earth
desperate to throw it away.

But I was always there
again and again
to re-plant
what I could only see,
as a flower
