I saw you
leaning against the wall
looking around
as if you were waiting
for someone else

I found the courage
to shout my name above the crowd
expecting for you to turn to face me

except you chuckled
still staring ahead and
I wondered if it was something I said

yet you grabbed my hand
led me to the dance floor
and helped me move my body
in ways I had never done before

and you came close enough
for me to feel your breath
and touch your chest
and all the rest
which I thought may have been
just a dream
was us connecting
becoming like a seam
