Jun 2014
The heat rushed over her like a summer in the desert.
Followed by a shiver, it ached as it left her.
  She jonsed for yet another,
So she took a deep breath in.
She smiled at the glimmer
And pressed the blade against her skin.
  The pleasure and the pain
Joined together all at once.
Like a step into the rain,
It was the perfect rush.
She opened her eyes to red
As her blood poured on the floor.
Part of her longed for death
While the other cried for more.
  As reality settled in,
She gasped for more than air.
She swore she'd never cut again
If she had one more day to share.
  She drifted off to sleep,
Expecting not to wake.
So she took an abnormal leap,
Knowing everything at stake.
And on that night she prayed,
Prayed to anyone who'd listen.
She promised the debt would be repaid
As she continued reminiscing.
Her dreams that night were pleasant.
Dreams of love and dreams of life.
All the things that represent
The reason for her strife.
As she woke in the morning
She knew that she was gifted.
She knew this was a warning
And her lust for death was lifted.
