Is there more delight in a given claim of dreams
Even as our fancies ride to call us back
If we knew how all those stars could gleam
In a midnight sky so black

Can we walk in the shade without sweet beauty
Like a shadow from once before
Without a burdened heart sworn to duty
Never being the one who asks for even more

Is there more delight to be found in giving one’s kiss
To a mouth with a voice like rain
With eyes as empty as the deepest abyss
To look on beauty while in pain

Does it grieve your heart to think on these things
As you say that nothing do you lack
Is this what the light of your whole life brings
Even as your fancies ride to call you back
