Place Your Bets
It may come to you as a shock,
but I've never held back.
Even when you were stuck on this.
Especially when you were stuck on that.
I'm not here to announce the fact
that there was something going back and forth.
I held your words in the palm of my hand;
blew on them for luck,
then spread my fingers and took a chance.
It may come to you as a surprise,
but I've never been afraid to roll the dice.
With you I always felt lucky.
I never expected to roll snake eyes.
