Oct 2010
Oh! Dear Sweet October!
For so long did I wait,
For you to come and visit me,
But I fear you are too late.

The cool fresh breeze and crispness,
The newness in the air,
That I hoped would bring me solace,
Have brought only memories and despair.

Year after year, you healed me,
Gave me strength to carry on,
But now you bring only emptiness,
Reminders of all that's gone.

Your breezes used to grant me hope,
And a lust for life in lack,
Now they just blow mental pictures,
Of the times I can't get back.
