The push and pull of stubbornness
Feels like being set up for failure
I've tired of the game
Your paving the way - a blur

Thinking you want control
Never stepping up to the plate
You gave up some time ago
Wondering if I even rate

Heartbroken angry and hopeless
Viewed from either side
Hard to work it out
When all there is is pride

I may as well pack up my things
It's feeling all too familiar
I never win I've learned this
How not to live bitter

Easy come easy go
Safety in not trusting
In the end you'll watch me go
Can't stand to watch you rusting

I suppose you see the greener grass
You know, the one from the past
Going backwards may be your style
Not mine, this will be our last
