I'm smile, when I see you.
I smile, at your photograph.
Friends seem to read me.
And begins to ask me various things.
All I ever say, you're the one that got away.

You had the charm.
You had the look and the smile.
You had it all that I was looking for.
You were in my mind, my everything.

I write about you in poems, I write.
I dream about you still, in my sleep at night.
Cause you're the one that got away.

You had the faith to attract many to visit church.
You had that confidence that others notice in your presence.
You had unselfishness to help every single one.
But than many know, you was the one that I know I loved so.

And as I smile, whenever we meet.
I greet you kindly with the deepest of respect.
Cause you was the one that got away.
Yes, those was the happiest of my days.
