the see thru day
the unlived
the angry
the vain old men

the tired women
the abused children

i am the long walk afternoon
the vision of the visionary looking at you til
you see that
you are seen
the high mountain dominion
the gentle rain becoming
the hurricane

rest in peace
if you can rest at all
rest in me

the collapsing pillars that held the sky
the fertility of oceans
field and
human-ness

the songs of saints
madmen
and children

have been invaded
and are false and maimed

who is real?

only you, i guess
only me
of this be assured

of the purity
the grace

only you and me

and god

(of course)
