were to
adhere to
Spirit of the Law
rather than
Letter of the Law,
then,
the Devil
would be
within One's self
rather than
in the Words
set forth
with spite
and catalyzed
by fear.

But, then,
we each
would need
to take on
dreaded
responsibility
for our own
personal
philosophies
and actions.
